Got tired of my trans pan leaking regardless of what I did. Bought the Moroso blue rubber steel core gasket. No more leaking. Going to replace my oil pan gasket on my 460 ford pro street car and definately buying the Moroso brand. I don't care if it is $80, it wont leak all over my garage or driveway, so worth it to me.
QUESTION… I Can’t find it on RUclips, has anyone ever tried placing a new gasket around the outside of the oil pan to get it in place If the crossmember is stopping you from dropping the pan…? Asking for a friend who doesn’t want to pull the motor 😅
I have the moroso 7 qt pan and used the one piece felpro gasket and it was close but the last thing you want after dumping all that money in your engine no matter how careful you are is to leak(any amount).
That looks like the Ford 7.3 pan. If it is they don't make a gasket for it it is rtv from factory. And that is supposed to be the leak stopper. From all the research I've done. So $80 is nothing when you have to pull the motor to fix the oil pan gasket
I just installed one of these and it leaks like crazy right at the back, i had to loosen the whole pan and fill it with ford rtv, will find out today it it still leaks, major pain in the butt, should have just used rtv just like the factory. I dont recommend them.
@@Teebar555 Sorry to hear that man. Question did you install a new pan or reuse the old one? Did you apply rtv in the corners on the first install? Good luck, be safe and you will get it the second time no doubt!
@@VitruviunMan I reused the old pan, and my gasket did not have any instructions in it so I just installed it without any rtv. Now that I dropped the pan I found a seam in the block right at the rear where it was leaking and filled it with rtv. It should be dry by now and I will fill it today and hope it does not leak. If the gasket had come with instructions I assume they would have mentioned the seam and to fill it with rtv, but who knows, too late now anyway. Today I'll just keep my fingers crossed when I start the truck back up this afternoon.

That style gasket is needed for the continental F-162, F163 engines used in Lincoln welders.

FRONT installed on the back of the pan. Hmmm 🤔 attempted to make it foolproof.

@@Teebar555 did you get it to stop leaking?
@@VitruviunMan No, I tried everything with no luck so I am in the process of lifting the body and engine to remove it.

Hey guys question for you! By putting that gasket there is no need to add RTV Sealant at the corners ?
Is that for a 7.3 power stroke?…I have the 7.3 IDI and wouldn’t mind buying this
If it says front where u pointed wouldn’t it be on backwards?
Lmao i didn’t notice that but you’re absolutely correct!!
Useful! Keep it up
if your bolt holes have been overtightened in the past it will leak like you drilled holes in the pan
Thats why you get a new pan with it
