@@samihyppia8472 If I’ve already got one of these but I don’t already have a console and my PC isn’t all that powerful, then Samsung Dex will come in quite handy for me. I know I’d rather spend more of my money on a nice smartphone if it can do as much as this one does, it could replace my computer practically.
It's amazing what Qualcomm has been doing so consistently when it comes to power to performance ratio. Can't wait for their Snapdragon XR3 in the Quest 3!

They have a great mid to upper mid range selection of different Snapdragon SoCs that, unlike iPhone, allows affordable but powerful alternatives to flagship offerings. You don't have to buy an S21 with a Snapdragon 888. With Android you can chose what fits your budget. And most of the CPU/GPU power gets wasted on candy crush and Facebook for most users anyway.

@@dybala93 Bruv its not slower. Most intel systems won't even do above 2400mhz mem clock. New AMD Zen2+ and Intel 10th gen stuff will do 3600mhz mem clock. Modern PCs in 2021 use ddr4. This phone uses DDR5 which is what GPUs use. This memory is faster than your pcs memory. Deal with it. Its reality. Last gen phones like the S10 use LPDDR4X RAM which is slower than DDR4 because the mobile RAM only has 32bit memory bus where the standard DDR4 has 64bit bus speed. Comparing the DDR5/x cellphone/mobile memory to current desktop DDR4 shows the DDR4 is slower.

Bro, from as soon as you started with Sonic Adventures at 4K upscaled I knew everything else would look amazing. The Colors are so vibrant and the game play so smooth, why do you keep doing this too me 😂🤣...I'm in love with this phone
so i have an s21 ultra and was having significant trouble running 2 very important games to me " madden 07 and def jam fight for Ny". Games would stutter and drag then i found out about "emulated clock speed". I set it between 80 and 85 (in general settings and in advanced) and the game runs smoothly but audio slightly affected. Now to keep the phone cool is a different challenge because the heat affects performance. I personal run a usb to hdmi to my TV and sit an Ice pack from my freezer on the back of the phone and i generally get about 3 hours of play time before performance becomes an issue.
I can run resident evil 4 upscaled to 1080p and custom HD textures on my s10 already. More interesting would be to test custom textures on Windwaker, Mario Sunshine and mario galaxy, since these games are much more demanding.
Maybe mmj too. The google play store even with a Samsung note 10+ snapdragon 855 and 12 gb of ram can’t run well but mmj runs full frames per second I went from it lagging on the play store version with windwaker to being fully playable with mmj same with citra mmj

Judging from several online benchmarks, both S21 Exynos and Snapdragon models seem offer very similar performance. Exynos is slightly faster CPU-wise due to faster clock speeds (Core configuration of 888 and 2100 is completely identical) while Snapdragon is faster GPU-wise. I wonder what will be the Qualcomm's answer to next-gen Exynos chips with Radeon GPU tech.
In terms of emulation the American chips from qualcomm snapdragon and apples a series are the best at highest frames for gaming but exynos has improved a lot although I’ll always take a Samsung with snapdragon for now and yes that deal with exynos trying to make their gpu on the level of a ps5 and Xbox is impressive
I have the S22+ on pre-order after being on iOS (currently have an iPhone 12 Pro), and seeing how the S21+ runs games has me excited for Dolphin emulation.
Performance should catch-up, since Exynos models are not that much worse this time. 888 and 2100 are very similar in terms of performance with Snapdragon being faster GPU-wise and Exynos being faster CPU-wise.
@@takehirolol5962 US gets Qualcomm due to Qualcomm's US patents. You can import the US version, but you will need to ask the seller (or re-shipper) to remove the region-lock first with an US SIM.

Just wandering what are your settings for the dolphin and PPSSPP emulators. I'm getting a S21 pretty soon and I'm familiar with emulators because I have a one plus 7t with a few emulators on there but the PPSSPP doesn't run everything perfectly and there's still lag for a few games ..I wander if this phone can run those games better without having to toggle every single debug or speed enhancement in the emulator settings. I don't even bother with using vulcan on the one plus 7t because it just makes everything run shittier .
@@stephandavis6466 the emulation is just not there yet. It runs every single thing perfectly on the redream emulator, even better than the original dreamcast. It runs ps1 games perfectly using the duckstation emulator and any retro console older than a ps1 but......the games are unplayable to me, with the dolphin 🐬 emulator. Maybe in a few more years. I think the technology is advanced enough to run it perfectly but just that the dolphin emulator is not optimized for it completely. It's commendable to the devs that it can even run, even if it's not too good but I won't waste any precious space on my 256 gb storage for games that can barely run. But loving the other emulators that run absolutely perfectly on there 👌 Even if you toggle the settings, the Dolphin emulator still doesn't run well. I have the ppsspp gold , it runs games good but not well. It still lags here and there, depending on the game. Even if you toggle the settings. I deleted my psp games on my phone to make more room for my ps1 games. Psp emulator still needs to be optimized a little bit more. God of War games still lag a little, even on the native settings. And quite a few games don't run smoothly. I feel like, I might as well hack a psp 3000, if I want all my games to run perfectly. And that's probably what I will do.

Other games ive tried like madden 08 and def jam fight for Ny are hit and miss. Kinda sad because i upgraded from a sd 855 thinking this was Goin to work flawlessly like described in the video
Since you did the video of the ipad running dolphin full speed at 1440p, I've lost interest on android emulation. It's s shame iOS doesn't make it easy for installing emulators. I still use Android, but I'm moving on to emulate on pc.

I heard the exynos 2100 is much closer to the its snapdragon counterpart the 888 this time because Samsung gave up on using their custom core design in the exynos and also this time both exynos and snapdragon opted to use Samsung's 5nm node unlike last few generations where snapdragon was made on TSMC 7nm while exynos was made on Samsung 8nm, giving the snapdragons a node advantage.

I was looking into getting myself one of these retro handheld emulator devices but it seems the perfect one isn't quite here yet, so since I happen to have an s21 as my daily phone, I ordered a gamesir 2x (I like the style more than the razer) and intend to convert my phone into my primary handheld. I didn't really doubt it would work well, but I'm glad to see how good your results are! I think this'll do nicely while I wait for the right dedicated handheld to come along. Here's hoping, 2022 is looking promising 👀
I can't wait for a good ps2 emulator to come along I'm stacking my ps2 library up by now we should have a decent ps2 emulator for the phones and we still don't smh.
Hopefully we can get a decent ps2 emulator that already exists like pcsx2 ported to Android one of these days. Maybe something we can look forward to after they get it going even better on pc than it is now.

The fact that this series of phones by Samsung, even the highest end model, did away with expandable storage. Has me a bit worried that they'll do that to their Tab S8s when they come out.

Nah exynos is basically the same this time, and the difference has always been small or tiny. Unless you're a rich RUclipsr who's had both versions and who's looked at a billion and one phones for their job, you won't notice a difference, and it'll be good enough for anything you can do with the SD chip version.

JUST PICKED THIS UP!! =D long story short, 2 weeks ago my old Galaxy A5 (which ran Dreamcast 60fps btw), got run over, still worked with smashed screen then a drop to the kitchen floor today killed the screen. normally I'm a "last years model" kind of guy when i get a new phone, but I SOOOO wanted the 888 processor for it's ability to run 6th generation console games, I just got home and found NO MICRO SD SLOT... VERY disappointed. so until Raspberry Pi comes out with a... Pi 5c++ or something that Experimental Pi can slap into a horizontal handheld, this will be my new 6th gen console gaming device. now to get a blasted case and screen protector before I ever take it outside of the perimeter of my bed. =/

Its a shame we'll not see this cpu in a reasonable cost SBC. Its almost like they price it out if that category on purpose.

For those interested I tested my Exynos version and Citra is not playable even at 1x. Mario Sunshine only runs at 1x not 720p
Exynos chips are not supported since the US and select 1st World countries only get Snapdragon. You would have to import it.
I was wondering that as UK gets the Exynos. I would love this SD888 as my daily driver, import would be to much money.

I'm getting a S21 pretty soon and I'm familiar with emulators because I have a one plus 7t with a few emulators on there but the PPSSPP doesn't run everything perfectly and there's still lag for a few games ..I wander if this phone can run those games better without having to toggle every single debug or speed enhancement in the emulator settings. I don't even bother with using vulcan on the one plus 7t because it just makes everything run shittier .
So how did your phone perform when you set up dolphin? Ive only found 3 games that run at an acceptable rate.

@@stephandavis6466 the emulation is just not there yet. It runs every single thing perfectly on the redream emulator, even better than the original dreamcast. It runs ps1 games perfectly using the duckstation emulator and any retro console older than a ps1 but......the games are unplayable to me, with the dolphin 🐬 emulator. Maybe in a few more years. I think the technology is advanced enough to run it perfectly but just that the dolphin emulator is not optimized for it completely. It's commendable to the devs that it can even run, even if it's not too good but I won't waste any precious space on my 256 gb storage for games that can barely run. But loving the other emulators that run absolutely perfectly on there 👌 Even if you toggle the settings, the Dolphin emulator still doesn't run well. I have the ppsspp gold , it runs games good but not well. It still lags here and there, depending on the game. Even if you toggle the settings. I deleted my psp games on my phone to make more room for my ps1 games. Psp emulator still needs to be optimized a little bit more. God of War games still lag a little, even on the native settings. And quite a few games don't run smoothly. I feel like, I might as well hack a psp 3000, if I want all my games to run perfectly. And that's probably what I will do.
@@wisewords8972 ive found the same for ps1 and older emulators. As far as dolphin goes I've been playing hulk ultimate destruction on 2x pretty much flawlessly. That's it though. Other games ive tried like madden 08 and def jam fight for Ny are hit and miss. Kinda sad because i upgraded from a sd 855 thinking this was Goin to work flawlessly like described in the video

Since you did the video of the ipad running dolphin full speed at 1440p, I've lost interest on android emulation. It's s shame iOS doesn't make it easy for installing emulators.
I still use Android, but I'm moving on to emulate on pc.

I heard the exynos 2100 is much closer to the its snapdragon counterpart the 888 this time because Samsung gave up on using their custom core design in the exynos and also this time both exynos and snapdragon opted to use Samsung's 5nm node unlike last few generations where snapdragon was made on TSMC 7nm while exynos was made on Samsung 8nm, giving the snapdragons a node advantage.

I was looking into getting myself one of these retro handheld emulator devices but it seems the perfect one isn't quite here yet, so since I happen to have an s21 as my daily phone, I ordered a gamesir 2x (I like the style more than the razer) and intend to convert my phone into my primary handheld. I didn't really doubt it would work well, but I'm glad to see how good your results are!
I think this'll do nicely while I wait for the right dedicated handheld to come along. Here's hoping, 2022 is looking promising 👀

Hopefully we can get a decent ps2 emulator that already exists like pcsx2 ported to Android one of these days. Maybe something we can look forward to after they get it going even better on pc than it is now.

My LG V35 I got it used for 70 bucks could emulated a lot games , but for some reason I've spend most of my time on zombie survival game call Lost in Blue instead.
No matter how good the emulation is, nothing can beat touch pad on a very light phone.

Nah exynos is basically the same this time, and the difference has always been small or tiny. Unless you're a rich RUclipsr who's had both versions and who's looked at a billion and one phones for their job, you won't notice a difference, and it'll be good enough for anything you can do with the SD chip version.

long story short, 2 weeks ago my old Galaxy A5 (which ran Dreamcast 60fps btw), got run over, still worked with smashed screen then a drop to the kitchen floor today killed the screen. normally I'm a "last years model" kind of guy when i get a new phone, but I SOOOO wanted the 888 processor for it's ability to run 6th generation console games, I just got home and found NO MICRO SD SLOT... VERY disappointed. so until Raspberry Pi comes out with a... Pi 5c++ or something that Experimental Pi can slap into a horizontal handheld, this will be my new 6th gen console gaming device. now to get a blasted case and screen protector before I ever take it outside of the perimeter of my bed. =/
