    Finally. Samsung had to up their game after the exynos 990, they knew they had to do that. Glad to know, for what it really matters (I used to have a note 20 ultra and I only sold it because of its imeense size and lack of " pocktability", not because of the 990). Anyway i bought the regular s21 and I'm very happy with it.

    Really awesome and unbiased speed test here. Thanks for doing this. It makes sense why some apps/games load faster on Exynos because of the faster CPU but frame rates in games is slightly lower and heats a bit more compared to SD's better GPU. But the difference is minor and I'm now convinced Exynos S21 ultra would work for me in Australia. Upgrading from a S9+ so I'll be pleasantly surprised by the performance boost ☺️

      Thanks very much! Oh yes, if you're upgrading from the S9+ you'll see a world of difference I'm sure 👍 Yes the GPU does get a bit warmer but in my tests (videos will be coming out over the next few days) it's only normally by about 1 degree (C) when they're both getting maxed out...

    • @AndroidAddicts
      @AndroidAddicts  3 года назад +5

      Very good spot I didn't notice that. They're both however set to auto HDR so the SD 888 camera thought it needed HDR whereas the Exynos did not. I've just tested the front camera on both and HDR switches on automatically when it detects a face so I have no idea why the SD 888 turned it on. Perhaps it's a bug in the camera software? Thanks for pointing it out though as that explains why it was slower than the Exynos 👍

    Great video bro. So far best comparision between both variant I have seen on net.
    One request please make it on S21 ultra both sides, Also another request battery comparision between them. It would be better if you mention both temp and battery drop after each round. So far so good. A big thumbs up👍👍👍👍

    • @AndroidAddicts
      @AndroidAddicts  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment and for watching! I cannot afford to buy 2x S21 Ultras sadly (😅) but the only possible difference we would see is during RAM management tests of games as the internals are identical between the S21 series (except for cameras as well of course). So in theory S21 Ultra could keep more things in RAM but seeing as most games now require a constant online connection, it's highly unlikely you could ever put that to use in real-life. For apps it could also potentially help of course but you can see here they can both handle background apps well (except for a couple of hiccups from the SD888).
      I will definitely be doing a battery comparison between the two that's for sure and that should be out before the end of the week 👍

    You missed the points for the Snapdragon with Spotify and Prime Video. So that would put them at a tie. Also the game loading tests are flawed for the same reason you don't do the wifi test at the same time. You should load the games separately and then time it for a better comparison. Another thing to point out is during the photo taking test, the Snapdragon had HDR on while the Exynos did not.

    • @AndroidAddicts
      @AndroidAddicts  3 года назад

      Spotify finished loading (rendering all images) on the Exynos first. Prime Video the app loaded first on Exynos but rendered at the same time on both. If you play back at 1/4 speed and play/pause you will see this. This is why I didn't award a point for Prime Video. Game loading tests are all fine as they use completely different accounts so do not need to run separately and would never saturate my 60Mbps Internet line. The Internet Speed Test tests however do saturate the line on purpose so this is why they're done separately.
      You are however correct about the HDR mode on the Snapdragon. Looks like it was a bug on Snapdragon as HDR was set to Auto On for both pones but for some reason it came on on the Snapdragon during the test. It should only normally come on if it detects a face (in the tests I've done).
      Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching.

    • @RDelacroix
      @RDelacroix 3 года назад +2

      @@AndroidAddicts I see what you mean with Spotify and Prime video but the reason I said what I did about the games, specifically about loading, is that I noticed that some of the games had to download some sort of update when starting up, which I think can saturate the internet speed. I could be wrong though.
      Anyway, Thanks for the video and thanks for the reply.

    • @AndroidAddicts
      @AndroidAddicts  3 года назад

      No worries, I appreciate your comment. Someone had already pointed out the HDR thing which I hadn't noticed so it's always appreciated 👌👍
      I tried to ensure the games were all up to date (manually downloading assets etc before doing the test) but games like Genshin always seem to 'download' something when loading.. Not sure if it's just your game data or in-game events etc but there's only so much you can do to make it fair. In their I guess you could start a stopwatch for each game and see but sadly they all pop up different ads/features each time so it's very difficult.

SD865 is made on TSMC 7nm and if you look at efficiency comparisons you'll see that sd888 on 5nm samsung has similar efficiency to sd865 on tsmc 7nm, which raises some questions. Here we get to my comment, that if sd888 would have been made on tsmc 5nm instead of samsung 5nm, this chip would have been more efficient and maybe faster.
