I truly enjoy this couple, they are awesome. How they are together is quite nice!
Thank you Mary
You have both been so patient, I really admire how you made it through these times together...and still smiling and laughing. The roof looks like it will be well gorgeous. Thanks for a lovely chat...Merry Ann from Minnesota
Thank you Merry Ann x
Congratulations on first solo weekend. The raspberry and almond cake looked sooooo good. Yum.
I'm watching this in October of 2022 and loving every minute of your positive attitudes and just the everyday getting on with it and enjoying each moment.

I can't wait to see you two everyday. I'm excited to see your new episodes and I was just watching some other ones when this one they just said it was in. YES!
I haven't followed Float your boat for long, really enjoy their videos.
Thanks Fran &Rich
Must say canal life looks so peaceful.
It really is!
How to make one's day brighter ? Simple....... vlog from Fran and Rich. Nice piece of country side you are in. Drone shots were very nice Rich...........thanks for sharing the scenery. They are starting to open things up gradually here. It will be a bit longer before we are allowed to travel to other provinces. I'm in New Brunswick. Send me some of that nice weather................ Stay safe you "4".
Glad you enjoyed it, but sorry, we're keeping the weather
Gary Capson I’m in Nova Scotia🤗
Enjoyed the crossword section....love the laughter! Enjoy your extra little bit of freedom and take care.
Thanks 👍
Another fine video, especially the drone, England looks fabulous at this time of year. Take care.
Thank you, we will
Glad things are looking up! We all have cabin fever in this beautiful Spring weather! Oh and Fran, I love that blue dress!!
Thank you, it came from the Hippie Boat!!!
Thanks, the same plant is residing in my backyard with abundance. You guys are top shelf and a comfort to see on video. God bless
Another interesting window on your world. I'm enjoying learning about the wild plants that can be eaten.
Thank you
I am addicted to Your site. We are from NewJersey, USA. Years ago we took a narrowboat vacation onThe English Canals and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we can do it again so we settle for vicarious viewing. You both are delightful. 😍. Happy cruising and long happy marriage.
Thank you so much for your lovely message. Hopefully we will have lots of lovely cruises for you to enjoy soon
Nuh, not fed up at all.....
Love your vlogs no matter what.....
thank you x
Always love your vlogs, Fran & Rich. It's lovely to go along with you, even if only virtually. And Fran's foraging and cooking looks yummy. Looking forward to the next episode. In the meantime, stay well!
Really enjoy the everyday life vlogs. It’s a reminder that no matter where we live in the world, kind of doing the same things. Your even giving me a few tips on gardening 🌼
Love that!
We are all living boring lives stuck at home so I enjoy seeing your videos anyway, it’s nice to see you both and how you’re getting along during this mess. Take care, be safe. 🙋🏼

Cruising possible? Wait for us, we’ll cross the Channel straight away!!!
Really nice your Vlogs, keep posting and sharing. Thanks a lot.
Hi thank you for good video ☺️🏴
So enjoy sharing your Narrowboat adventures with you. We especially love seeing your dogs. So fabulous seeing them run free and exploring when you dock. We love them both but my husband is very fond of Archie and if I’m out of the room for a minute, he will call out to me when he sees him. Your vlogs are our favorites. We feel like we know you guys.
Thank you so much! Archie is by far the naughtiest and daftest dog. Jess is much more aloof and such a daddy's girl. Gld you are enjoying watching x
Glad you guys are safe. Enjoy crusin
As ever great vlog xx
Glad you enjoyed it
I am so jealous of all that wild garlic you have close to your boat. I have searched around here and have found none.
That's s shame, where are you?
@@FloatingOurBoat I am at Rugby still. 5-6 weeks I have been here. very handy for shops, but I am getting fed up with the same scenery. There are some nice walks away from the town, one of which will be a week tomorrows video, walking along part of the old route of the canal before it was straightened
Love the doggies and your dishcloth idea :)
Thank you
I really like your container garden and learning what you're growing and how you use it.
You both seem very cheerful good to see.
Fantastic and a lovely couple
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks for posting. You have this knack of making me smile! I can really relate to lack of coffee stopping you from thinking properly about the crossword puzzle!
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
Thanks for another pleasant video. Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Looking forward to see you two cruising again, Love your vlogs...Dan from Ottawa, Canada

Always a treat whatever your doing 👌🏻, looks like a great spot, no neighbours, surrounded by nature xx
It has been a wonderful home for the last few weeks
Thanks both, another very pleasant vlog. The boat is really looking good, looking forward to the completed project. Every time I watch your vlogs I'm envious of the beautiful peaceful surroundings, I can definitely imagine myself relaxing on the boat in the evenings, enjoying a pie and a pint 😉😁 while listening to the birdsong. Sounds like next week you'll be able to walk much further and explore some new areas, can't wait to see what you discover.
Our pleasure!
Enjoyed your vlog, stay well and safe
Thanks, you too!
Never fed up with you guys 👍🏻 keep it going. This weekend should’ve been the start of my fortnight of cruising on the Oxford canal. 🙁
Oh, that's a shame. Can you get out later in the year?
Enjoy some cruising!
we will
Been pootlin’ every landlocked morning with a cup of tea in my pootlin mug. Can almost feel the boat rocking.
That's brilliant, thank you. Keep on pootlin'
Love seeing you foraging for food! Just reminds me of a nice simpler life and as I get older, I yearn for more of that lifestyle. :) You also have the best well behaved dogs. If I let my little guy just run off the leash, I have no clue where he would end up. :) He's a Jack Russell and Poodle mix that we adopted from a rescue a little over a year ago. Oh, I've been wanting to say that your drone shots are AMAZING as well!!!
Thank you Christy. I have had Jack russells in the past, not there most obedient dogs! We are always striving for a simpler life. Glad you enjoy the videos
Rich and fran, Hi. I always enjoy your vlogs and this one was excellent, john... New Zealand
Thank you John
What a lovely video! Great drone footage, beautiful scenery. Glad you both are doing well. You are such a lovely couple. Always love seeing your dogs. Nice to see your little garden doing well! Thank you for sharing...take really good care, stay safe! 💖
Thank you, and you
Fran, You are an Inspiration...Luv Ya
Thank you
Good time for walking 🚶♀️ boots ready keep safe from Spain
My routine every Saturday morning is that my husband goes out for The Times and whilst he is out I make a cup of tea (of course) which is made by the time he comes back. He reads the paper and I do the crossword (not the cryptic one 😁. Has been a routine for years. Lovely vid by the way. Hope you do many more 👌
Great content as always, you managed to exactly fill the time I had left waiting for my breadmaker to ding. Lockdown Ding bread with mustard and mixed seeds --yum
Fantastic!
Hi great vid, when I was a kid,we would get 44gal drums, cut in half length ways clean and rust-proof,etc, then use them as planters, placed in a wooden cradle. May be to big for the roof of a canal boat, you can get smaller drums. My basil got damaged in a cold snap here in the Hebrides, the Basil seems to be coming good, black leaves but standing tall.Cheers love that tune of yours, can't stop humming
Only come across your site a couple of weeks ago, and you have a great site, entertaining, informative, good editing, and filming. I will keep watching and following.
Thank you so much. Welcome aboard!
Enjoyable as always. Pleased you can now cruise. My first thoughts Fran was a disabled Octopus. 😂
Very enjoyable vlog. I’ve been knitting dishcloths too. I used for dusting and cleaning etc. Also a bundle of them makes a nice hostess gift or housewarming gift. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make the vlog. I really appreciate them🇨🇦😎👍
Great idea!!
Oh Fran we're never going to be fed up with watching the two of you on the boat or the surrounding area. It's fun watching the vlogs and learning about your boat life.
Thanknyou
Hooray for a bit of good news! Can’t wait to see your videos from future walks. The scenery from the drone footage was breathtaking. Your new neighbours seem to love the Queen Anne’s lace as well 😉
Were looking forward to walks too
Thank you
You're welcome
Just a pie? So much blasphemy! Love your garden. And those aerial shots of the countryside were awesome. Looking forward to seeing Macklesfield.
Ha ha, sorry Allan x Macclesfield hopefully coming up soon x
Hello there enjoyable viewing, nice n interesting,
Thank you for sharing your photo cheers take care see you soon.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the dishcloth Fran. I crochet all my dishcloths and love them. They last a long time and look pretty as well. I have also made and given away dozens of them. Good job.
They're also do relaxing to make. I'm now going to colour code for kitchen, bathroom, floor and face cloths. I'm addicted
@@FloatingOurBoat Good for you Fran. I have taken to making napkins as well because we are still having trouble getting paper products where we live in California. I don't know why, but our local store hasn't had anything for over 2 months now, so I am trying to conserve the few rolls I have left. My kids sent me a really funny meme. It was a picture of roll of crocheted toilet paper! LOL!!!! Mercy, let's hope it doesn't come to that. When I get ambitious, I am going to make myself a blanket for my bed out of cotton yarn in either all white or all cream. Take care.
That’s wonderful news u got some freedom to cruise again, always great to c u guys,we (in N.Z.)are out of lockdown, all abit surreal really, nice to have freedom,I’m so happy I found yr channel in lockdown it made my days 😍😆,I look forward to seeing u next time after my days work,.
Yr salads look healthy in the sun, great also to upcycle the spring onions...keep well.🌼💐🍄🌺
Thank you Alicia, glad you enjoyed watching
You're right Rich, nothing like stoking the olè fire in the morning. Say no more.
Fran, love the dress your wore shopping.
Thank you. It came from the hippie boat.
Hi both... Lovely to watch as always. Deeply envious of you being out on the boat. Wales still in total lockdown, so we still can't even think about visiting our boat until the end of May.. That's if they allow us to travel then! Sue saw your FB post and gave you a big cheer... Well said Rich. Take care both Steve and Sue...🍷🍷
Thanks 👍
Actually, I’ve enjoyed all of it!
Wonderful x
Hello Fran and Rich...
The scenery is lovely....
Young nettles boiled are supposed to be full of vitamins..iron....
Love you're little garden....well done.... This lockdown has lots of ppl baking ..gardening improvising. ..
Painting. .. Ect...
Foraging is now becoming popular....nothing like fresh herbs out of the ground....
Getting back to nature...love you're vlogs... Take care both stay safe...
💞💖💝💕💛💚
simple, healthy, free food. What could be better
Great news about the lifting of the lockdown on the waterways. Cannot wait to jump on board our NB Swansong Free and get out of this Bl******* house here in Carlisle. Great weather on way again,. Take care and enjoy.
It sounded so good that I went out this morning and bought the ingredients for a Leek & Mushroom pie or as we say here in the US of A a pot pie LOL.
thats brilliant x
Great to see you’re both still so positive and getting on with life. The garden is looking great, did you see the dandelion coffee on Tales from the Swans Neck? I buy dandyblend online but should maybe get stuck into our front lawn because it’s covered in dandelions! Your garden is looking great and after a bit of a lazy lockdown we’re now getting stuck into all our outstanding jobs. I’m assuming the pie wasn’t that great as no mention was made of it! I used to like a cheese and onion pasty when I was young but I now find them a bit greasy and they’re the only thing that gives me heartburn. Thanks as always for sharing your adventure.
Hi Sylvia. You're right about the pie...too much cheese and too sickly. We're often disappointed with stuff like that . Should have just made my own. We're going to try homity pie this week.
You know what, ur blogs are always interesting, gotta say, u r my face vloggers, hope to see you out there someday, take good care of yourselves
ah, thank you so much x
Fran you have me ready to plant some greens in my egg cartons-- I used to mix in coffee grounds, Will copy your onion iidea, as well.
That's great, I can't wait to see how the onions work out
Good news, great to hear that. Fran, the plants are growing up. I sometimes think you have to feed the plant so to eat the seed pod.🍅
we will be feeding with home made nettle fertilizer
Glad to see you guys keeping well....I would have been nicked for loitering....for a pie....at least you can have a cruise now....bit weird not being able to use a lock though....but you can use a lock to get water..???...Regards Mick
We are trapped between closed locks anyway at the moment but we do have about 30 ,miles of lock free canal to use.
I forgot to mention but I liked your chimney choice. Right On. It and the new paint are quite Smart looking... :[)
Thanks 👍
Horses are great neighbours 🥰🐎🐎🐎🐴 The grass is always greener ..right? 😁 🌾🌱☘🍀
Yea good news for relaxing some of the rules! I would like to thank you for your continued vidios while on lockdown I did not get bored at all with them and I know it must have been difficult trying to come up with content you felt would be interesting, I think you did a great job! Please stay safe as there is expected to be a spike in the virus as people begin to move around again!!
Thank you becky. We will be careful
Thanks for the update. Facebook can be very unforgiving :( Enjoy the greater freedoms.
You're right. Our Facebook page is usually quite friendly so we will keep on with it. It feels like we have a lot of friends out there. The problem with social media is that people think they can say anything they like as they can't see your face. They wouldn't say such things if they were next to you. Ho hum!
When you said: "Pie Quest" the Saint music popped into my head ... I've been locked up too long (sorry) A spray bottle / alcohol and aloe, Frans crocheted cloth, just the thing to use on lock gates n such while everything's gone all to pot ... stay safe
I think we're all doing and thinking crazy things.....five armed octopus!!!!
