The little Green Grocer is so reminiscent of my little neighborhood store, where I grew up. Owned by an actual neighbor, they would let us crazy kids sit in the periodical aisle, and read comic books, while eating roasted peanuts out of the huge shipping barrel, and sipping Dr Pepper that we bought with empty bottles scoured from refuse bins and turned in for the recycle credit (this was the days when they boiled the bottles to clean and sterilize, and refilled them). Alas, that wonderful little store (and all others in town) closed 45 years ago, to make way for "progress"....and a parking lot.
It is such a shame! Now I have a certain Joni Mitchell don't going through my head.'they paved paradise and put up a parking lot'

This right of way thing in England always amazes me. Here, in western US, wandering around someone's fields, pastures or place and taking anything would get you a visit with the law. THANK YOU for no politics.
In England we do not have any rights to walk over someone’s private land, we have rights of way over private land but only on defined footpaths. Remember some of the rights of way probably existed before the farm buildings were built so the right to walk still exists.

There’s an app that you can get that you just point your camera at the mushroom and it identifies it and tells wether it’s edible or not. Maybe that will prove it to Rich? Lol

Love chestnuts, British butchers, and until you hear them, I really miss hearing church bells in the background, that you likely take for granted, as they are a normal in your life.
16:15 is not a camper van, but rather what we call a “bug out” vehicle, for when things head south!

I really needed that FoB fix this evening, thank you both so much. Fran, I was looking for sweet chestnuts today but discovered the same thing you did.. all gone to the squirrels. The two amazing beech trees that you found were goooorgeous! They looked like they were well matched dance partners hehe xxx
Thanks Julia. I did bring some chestnuts back but they were far too small to roast. Would love to know the story of those two trees. They were right in the middle of what looks like used to be the drive from the big house. So beautiful though.

I’m a life-long knitter, so I love my beautiful yarn. An extra thanks for taking me away from the U.S. election. I live in Canada, so we are tied to our southern cousins. Hope the new boat is coming along nicely!

Phew, that was a long beautiful journey of all your vlogs that we have now finally caught up watching them all since you first started your channel, Floating Our Boat. We also follow Foxes Afloat, Well Deck Diaries and it's nice to be able to now follow your channel. I think we are now looking forward to your new narrowboat as much as you are, well not really but you know what I mean. I think you will miss Constance though as it's been your home for the past two years and you have made it very nice to meet your needs. Many of the bridges were built like that, no doubt all lined up by eye. No think it was too make them stronger.

A beautiful video from start to finish. From the walks, lovely shops and the colour of Autumn. You may think you're a dragon but Rich loves is little dragon.
Every time Fran stops and stoop down to look down at something or to pick it up, the dogs go into action and seems to think that is their job and you are invading their territory!!
They can't bare the thought of missing out on anything!
