- We move to get water and find a lovely mooing spot. A bird drives us crazy and we chew the fat about what's happening in our world.

I need to stop wearing the same shirt on our vlog thumbnails :)
Off to the charity shops when they open for some nice M&S shirts, cheap as chips, re-cycling and good for the charity too.
If you don't watch out, it could be come a thing....
#SoapDodger
Floating Our Boat I am new to RUclips and your vlog. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning about your narrow boat life. I am keeping a positive outlook and feel very blessed. The vlog today gave me a couple of good chuckles. Take care. So glad I found you guys.
About the shirt,Rich............’It is what it is’........if you are comfortable wearing it,what’s the problem?
Good to see you guys. Burst out laughing with the screeching halt of Rich "not" missing the pubs!🤣🤣 You have a good mantra for these times. It is what it is!! Take care!
I thought I was going to get pushed off the boat then 😕
Just got up to this episode and laughed hysterically at the same thing. Poor Rich, I felt your pain!
That bird is hysterical! A great vlog as usual.
If you have to be stuck on 20 odd miles of canal for the whole of summer, I couldn't think of a better place to be. If you can't get off, no-one else can get on - what a blissful thought :)
You are quite right
The birds! Great video.
Get tucked up in bed and watch your video's so relaxing i envy you.
Sounds lovely
Love you guys!
"We don't miss pubs that much"...I laughed so hard at that bit! Great stuff.
I was obviously mistaken wasn't I?
Fran x
Glad to see you two are doing well, love the positive attitude!
Good to see you both looking so well. Great vlog
Manzes on Tower bridge road was my local as a kid! Thanks for sharing that, most enjoyable.
Great video thank for sharing keep safe both and all the best 👍
Well thanks for the invite into your home. A nice fire side chat all be it one way. I had a nice cup of tea and a cookie while you were talking. Loved your alarm clock........... Weather here has not warmed up as well as yours has. I still have a bit of snow..........so....I guess I can still throw snow balls. Some rain in the forecast so I am hoping that the rest of the snow will go. Stay safe you "4".
Ah, we missed the snow this year. We are enjoying the early spring though.
@@FloatingOurBoat PS:......I have the same shirt.........
You might think your vlogs are ordinary and boring but we think they’re interesting and love your humour. What a lark! 🤣🤣Keep going! Thanks 😊 Linda & Rob from Adelaide South Australia

Love that look in Rich's eyes Fran as you said you don't miss the pubs much, brilliant 🤣🤣 Bollington does look like a beautiful area to be stuck. Oh yeah I think that bird would definitely get on my nerves every morning. Looking forward to the next one. Stay safe and healthy.
Great vlog, many thanks. Leek and potato with a creamy cheese sauce pie. My favourite is bacon and egg pie with HP sauce. Keep well.
Fondest regards AJ
my mum used to make a great bacon and egg pie. It isn't quite the same as a quiche though is it?
Rich is looking so much better. The pie shop sounds good. Stay safe and post what you can. Thanks
I think we may have to do a pie shop video.
I love watching you!😁
Oh thank you!
Great to see how you are coping with sheltering and still enjoying life. Thanks for the updates, stay safe, well and happy
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Great to see you both, the bird song made me laugh 🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
Yes, it made us laugh at the beginning🙄
Nice to see you both smiling and enjoying life,,,, i can not wait to be in your position , hopefully next year... stay safe guys
Good luck
I have been watching you two from my home in Victoria, BC Canada. Originally from North West London. Just thoroughly enjoy your videos. They brighten my lockdown days. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoy them
We love you guys! Your cheerful resignation encourages us so much.
Please refer us to recipes for pies!
Thank you. I'm no great chef really although I do make leek and mushroom pie. We will pay the pie shop a visit I think.
Really pleased to see you've recovered well Rich, What a lovely place to be stuck. Was going to do the Macclesfield Canal and the Peak Forest Canal myself this year. Never mind it's nice enough on my mooring on the Birmingham/Worcester Canal near Tardebigge. Keep safe both xx
You're right, it is lovely around Tardebigge. At least you are on your boat
Hi guys, brilliant video, awesome cruising along the canal, very lovely listening to the both of you, stay safe
Thank you
Just discovered your channel. I'm thoroughly enjoying your videography, music, banter, humor, and honest coverage of the narrowboating life.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your experiences! Glad that you are in good health again, Rich.
Thank you so much and thank you for following us x
He's just enthusiastic Rich 😂 dude? too funny, God you made me laugh my son has the same problem outside his window ONLY appearing when he has to be up early for work starting at round 4am in tree right next to his windows or when he's worked late😁
Great vlog guys and pleased you're looking so much better Rich. Fran got a mention on the Bald Explorer I noticed! Meat pies... they were what they were. Take care
We love watching the Vobes show. We hope to get him on the boat when we all have freedom again
Loved watching this - you two are fantastic :)
Ah, thank you
@@FloatingOurBoat My pleasure, why are we boats up still, I'm blaming the ducks
Ah you’re stuck just down the road from me - I’m in Macclesfield. Fran love your weaving work - I spin yarn on the spinning wheel; so if you’re still stuck nearby when restrictions are lifted I’d be happy to drop some off FOC - I have more than I’ll ever use! Take Care - Charlotte x
Hi Charlotte, thst sounds amazing. Could you send an email to info@floatingourboat.com. I would love to learn a little about spinning as well.
we are still here enjoying what you are getting up to, thank you for keeping us entertained it dosnt matter if you cant do what you would like to show us we are just glad to see you are both getting on with it, take care look forward to your net video

Love Pie , mash and liquor! Great vlog as ever x
Thank you
Thank You for sharing a part of your beautiful country. God Bless
We're glad you like it
Oh, thanks for the update. It was fun just to cruise that short way. I, too, think it's nice of you to help us pass the time during this forced imprisonment. lol...……..Can't wait to see the boatroof finished. When I lived in England my husband and I used to walk on the Milton Keynes tow path near Campbell Park. Lovely time to feed the water birds. Thanks for your time, Merry Ann
Hi Merry Ann. It actually felt good to get some work done on the boat. We just need the current rain to go away now so we can get on with it
Looks a nice place to be staying, hope for you, it's not all summer. Good to see the sander out, Rich..... Finally. 👍 keep smiling. You both brighten my week. Ade
Your videos are great. It is what it is (sorry Rich, I couldn't help it) Glad to see Rich looking so much better and see that you are both keeping safe. Take care nige
Thank you Nige
Love listening to the Blackbirds singing early morning (dawn chorus) cant beat it
The blackbird definitely has the best song of all
Hi guys, im with you fran, pie, mash and liquor, cant beat it, was my sat lunch every week. Nice to see you looking so well, jo and andrew, ethlron xx oh and barney too x
My Saturday lunch soon in my lunchbreak from the market stall in East Ham. Happy days
Now you’re talking “pie mash and liquor” yum, and even here in Oz I still manage to have a pork pie and mustard, or with pickle for lunch once a week. Cheers guys Johnny in Oz
Good English comfort food
Love the video. Wish some one would make old fashion tea towel. Love them.
We will look into it.
pubs and pies didn't realise I missed them till you mentioned it but living in France it's something you have to live with so it will be another glass of rose, great to see you two looking well and happy, stay safe stay well
You have vineyards and cheese instead....a fair swap
It’s hard at the moment
I can’t go out until end of June Lol
Got a letter and got the message 🤔
Love watching you Guys
Stay safe x
Me too its a Bummer stay safe Tracey. Fran and Rich great vid as always.👍
Take care of yourself all of you xxx
Vobes has been advertising your mugs and channel every night this week. Keep well and safe.🍺
Hi Steve. We just realized this and now feel guilty. We watch him often but not every night and we missed some of these shows.
Can’t wait to add a ‘pootlin’ mug to my kitchen collection. I’ll feel much less landlocked and forlorn (no canals in Texas) with a cup of tea and toast in the mornings from one of my lovely new narrowboat friends.
Ah, that's lovely. Thank you
I simply love following you two. I was thinking about you earlier today, and then there you were! I guess if you have to be "stuck" anywhere, where you are is lovely. I'm "stuck" in a pretty terrific place myself, not my cottage on the river, which I finally sold a year ago after trying unsuccessfully for 3 years, how frustrating!, but a lovely area non the less. We're on the shore of Lake Michigan, one of the five great lakes in this area (we share 4 of them with Canada). So, if I have to be "stuck" why not here? I look forward to what Fran gets up to, as I am budding herbalist and enjoy watching her. xx
That sounds like s beautiful location to be stuck too. I'm no expert on herbalism but I have had a keen interest for years and am always learning and discovering more and happy to share what I can x
when I was working in the bank, and we found ourselves with a great pile of solids about to hit the air conditioning, “we are where we are” was the phrase you heard over and over again...! You appear to have found yourselves in a glorious spot....hopefully for not too long. Keep posting the vlogs and reminding us what a narrowboat looks like. I loved the dog’s head peeping out at you from under the table....really made me chuckle. Stay safe...Steve and Sue..🍷🍷
Hi Steve. We didn't even realise that Jess was trying to get in on the action until afterwards.
She looked so cute peeping out at you both... 🍷🍷
What a nice place to be stuck:) Love the bird song and yes, very loud. I've come over from Cruising the cuts channel. Don't have anything to do with boating apart from a passing interest and can see how peaceful a lifestyle it can be.
Sandy
Hi Sandy welcome aboard. We love your channel and have been watching for a while after my cycling/camping buddy put me on to you last year.
We're hoping to do some more wild camping when all this nonsense is over. Hope you are well. :)
Yes I'm OK thanks but it's been a hard few weeks. My little dog Elsa passed away earlier this month, she had cancer, and also my wife Mandy underwent major heart surgery but is mending slowly now thankfully.
I'm hoping to do some cycling/ wild camping and motorcycle camping too after this lockdown is over
Well almost a year has passed and it still "Is what it Is". Not sure any of us would have guessed that the whole "C" mess would still be around. One thing getting me through all this (and more) is that you two still "Are who you Are" and by taking the time to share you travels and day to lives, have really helped this viewer. Bless you both and fair locks......
Thank you Pat xx
I love Pubs💕
I thought your video was very entertaining especially when Rich said the song thrush was a great alarm clock, only if you need to be woken at 5am! It’s great to see you’re both still in good spirits and I have my fingers crossed for a successful completion on your house sale and very soon. Thanks for keeping us up to date while you’re in lockdown.
Thank you Sylvia. We don't really mind the alarm call, but he really doesn't stop all day long with the same bloomin' song!
Pie and mash is so yummy 😋, stay safe
Well, that was fun! Enjoyed the video, such a peaceful place for you to stop. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Subbed :D
Thank you so much. Just had a look at your channel. That looks fun too. We love watching a bit of mudlsrking. X
Hello x just subscribed wow just wot I needed to wotch to let my head relax how gorgeous is your bardge love u guys 🙏 thank you for vlog stay safe big hug 🤗 xxx
Fabulous vlog again. Great to see you both again and Archie and little Jess. Little Jess kept appearing between you under the table with her sparkly eyes. The Middlewood Way, one of my favourite places to walk in summer. Have fun. 😎
Hi malcolm.nwe didn't realise she was there until we watched the video and now that is all we can see. She's was once called the silent assassin by one of our friends because you can't see her in the dark except for her beady eyes.
Lovely attitude about life "It is what it is". I've been using that mantra more and more the last few years. Started about 2 years ago when I went through a really bad patch and carried it with me since then. Makes life so much better having a more positive outlook. Wish I had learned it a bit earlier in life. So close to catching up to current with your videos. So glad Rich made it through his bout with covid19/coronavirus and you didn't get it or get it too badly.
It goes along with the other great mantra, change the things you can and accept the things you can't. Takes away a lot of life stress.
Looking forward to bathroom remodel. 😁. Glad Rich didn't fall in again. This vlog was fun. Or maybe it is the two of you who are fun.
Thank you. It won't be do much fun when we do the bathroom remodel😂
I know what I’d rather listen to other than a motorway every night, the radio channels play the same songs, birdsong you can’t beat it. Keep up the good work Rich and Fran these vlogs are keeping me sane. 👍👍
Nothing so great about the repetitive coo-ing of Doves, though, ugh, I'm sick of them.
We are enjoying your channel. Glad to hear you are feeling better Steve after the virus. Patrick and Debbie in Christchurch New Zealand.
Thank you
Nice place to be stuck I hope you have a great summer keep those vlogs coming they cheer us up stay safe peace♥️🌈✌️🇮🇪
Thank you
Did the fan belt slip, when Fran said we don’t miss pubs 🤣🤣🤣....you guys looking well.....there’s still too many people not respecting live in boaters on tow paths....what a beautiful place to moor....stay safe guys....Regards Mick
Thank you. I guess people don't stop to think that this is our home.
Pie & Mash, Green Liquor, vinegar, salt and pepper too eh. Fran, you got my mouth watering at the thought lol. Spent my teenage years in South East London and Manze's @ Woolwich on a Saturday morning enjoying such fare and a free ride on the Woolwich Ferry crossing the Thames for a bit of fun and back again. Glad to see you're all doing ok and good luck with the house. Stay safe. x
Ah yes, my nan used to take me for a day out on the Woolwich ferry and to the park on the other side. Our Pie and mash came from Cookes in East Ham.
Hi you two. I love what you are doing, and always hoped one day to visit the 'old country' some day and do exactly what you are doing. I love the history still preserved there.
I live in N.Z. Our history is quite new here by comparison. My ancestors arrived here about 1200 years ago and not much evidence remains.
I hope you take the camera to the pub when it opens.
Great vlog guys - we laughed out loud when Fran said you don’t miss the pubs 😂😂 the screeching to a halt was brilliant 😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂🍻🍻🍻 here’s to next time we get to go for a pint together and we will remind you of your crazy comment 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
She's deluded eh? I got a new number will send so you can add me xxxx
I came down with a cold a couple of weeks ago, beats me how I managed that, I see four or five people a week at the moment!
Glad yours is behind you from the looks of it.
Take care, just in case!
Hi Guys, ice to see you both, very interested in seeing a blog on painting the roof of your NB and the preparation etc. Oh yeh, local bakers, we have one here , lady on her own and her cakes and bread are great. If it wasn't for lock down we wouldn't have found out how good they are.
Hopefully slot if people will appreciate their local shops s little more after this
That bird! We have a lovely woodpecker that bangs on the road sign on the edge of our lot starting at about 5-5:30 am every day. He's been doing it for years every spring.
At least bout alarm call is tuneful
@@FloatingOurBoat LOL! Ours is "Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!" 😂😂
Enjoy your vlog from here, Indiana, in the early 19th century Indiana and Ohio had several hundred miles of canals, then the railroads did away with them - sure wish our canals had been maintained like those in the U.K. Keep making your videos, they are wonderful. Hope the house sale can be finalized.
Thank you. It is a shame your canals were not restored.
Hi Fran & Rich! Glad to "see" you both again. I laughed at the editing about the pubs! I feel you Rich 😉 And that bloody bird at 530a! ... Fran, I love your weavings on Etsy ❤ Take care. - Eric in Illlinois, USA
Thank you Eric
Hello Fran and Rich, greetings from Brisbane Australia! In the summer, sun rise is after 4am here and the parrots, crows etc. start their loud calls! Funny thing after 30,years I mostly sleep thru it. There is a bird also like a nightingale and it can sing very loud all night long! I think it sounds louder in a boat or a caravan, brick walls reduce the sound. Great to see you both well and enjoying the sun.
Hi Rich Fran
Enjoyed the video as you say it's what it is
Pie &Mash lovely as I was brought up in South London know what you mean Fran yum yum
You both stay safe looking forward to seeing the next video
Happy memories I hope
When you were going on about the bird am sure his song change and he started laughing at you LMFAO Brilliant I hope you sell ya house and you both are well keepsafe and chill out and enjoy it and BQ Is open now 🐶🙂✌️
Every time he sings now I hear him laughing!
Glad to see you both looking well again ,we were worried about Rich,he looked so I'll,it must be hell stuck in such a beautiful place, just take it easy and enjoy.Phil and Lorraine.
Rich is doing well now thank you.
