Thanks. I just don’t know the symbols 😕!! Bit of a iPad dinosaur and the granddaughter not around to ask 😆 Have a great day 💐🌟🌟
I find the easiest way to receive your podcast on a smartphone is: "Hey Google, play Podcast Floatingourboat" the podcast even resumes automatically.
Google automatically plays the latest episode.
By the way can you increase the mic volume, audio is a little weak.
Paul.
Jess and Archie must be the most blessed dogs in the universe because they have y’all as their people!
This is one of my favorite ever narrowboat vlogs. Heavenly.
That is lovely. Thank you x
Please do not change your presentation as its the best. I just love your walk about's. Thankyou both
😊 thank you
Love the classical music, the shots taken from the boat, coupled with the drone shots. Very peaceful and beautiful. Thank you.
Winnie Wallace... Float my boat, best vlogers ever.. Can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed watching your adventures. You seem like a couple of dear friends. History and cooking lessons thrown in. Marvellous.
Wow, thank you!
My gosh, this aqueduct is the most magical site! Your music choice perfect. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoy it!
Perfect intro. Great sounds, to accompany an awe-inspiring crossing of the Pontcysyllte.
Glad you like it
You have chosen such beautiful music for this video. We loved cruising across this aqueduct on our hire boat. Your walk to horseshoe falls rekindled some lovely memories for us.
We would love to do it again with better weather
Thank you so much for your wonderful wonderful videos you’re obviously kind hearted people with funny spirit
Landscapes, flowers and the dogs having loads of fun in the water and awesome music, not forgetting you two too. Perfect vid x.
Glad you enjoyed it
A bit of chat, a bit of sightseeing, a bit of history, a bit of doggie goodness, a bit of wildlife, love the music and great hosts. Perfect balance. Thank you for the videos!
Thank you Em, it's our pleasure
Love the dog's idea of" wait," while you took the leads off, zoooooooom. Amazing photography, thank you both
They listen just like kids lol
I'm sure they do understand, but they just can't resist. Naughty dogs!!!
Fabulous vlog, stunning photography and awesome music!
Thank you
Didn't realize I was panic attack prone until I saw your aqueduct footage. Magnificent! Thank you for the amazing scenery.
Oh no! We're so sorry!. Back to low level cruising now
We went from Nantwich to Llangollen (my parents and friends from Cornwall) back in the 1970s. I remember it as being a quiet canal, maybe it was because we went in October. Still working my way through your vlogs, thoroughly enjoying them! Thank you!
I think it has got so much busier since then. Still a beautiful place though
Another great watch. You do your country such justice. And I echo Pam, the music is wonderful. I enjoy your videos with my morning coffee before the world wakes up.
Love the music on this vlog. Beautiful scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just tried your podcasts and loved them both. They really flesh out the vlogs and give a better incite to your life style. Well done Fran and Rich keep them coming.
Thank you, that is just what we are hoping to do.
Wale’s is not the same without rain benidorm for sun wale’s for rain nice vlog as usual
Such a beautiful video! I'm afraid l laughed at Archie having to be fished out. Being from the U.S., I didn't know the word "numpty" which seems to describe Archie perfectly. (Jess on the other hand, seems to have common sense.) Your dogs amaze me. They are so endlessly energetic but wonderfully obedient, and good on the leash. The urban dogs here are a sad bunch, neurotic and heedless, dragging their owners around. It's a joy to see your happy dogs.
Thank you. You seem to have summed Archie and Jess up perfectly
We love the Monty, we walked a stretch of it recently when visiting friends who live a stone's throw away. We can't wait to do it in our boat (some years away yet though!)
Incredibly beautiful crossing the aquaduct. I would be terrified and awestruck at the same time.
That's just how it is
Loved your vblogs. I have been following Foxes Afloat, but I like the way you go and visit the local villages and towns and show us the local scenery.
Thank you so much
Stunning footage, great stuff.
Always double pinned wherever we moored without rings.
Pinning in soft ground is an art.
Best of luck, when people pass too fast it’s tough.
Your doggies are living the dream! What great doggie pawrents you are. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you. Would you kindly tell that to them!
Best yet. And to think, 18 months ago I had no idea what a narrow boat was. Beautiful .
Ha ha, RUclips is a great way to experience other ways of living
The aqueduct that old Pru didn´t like at all, Tim had a hard time to convince her following him over.
It is scary if you have a fear of heights. Best not to look down. Just look out at the view
So lovely to see beautiful Wales! Great drone footage, music and good wholesome field and following the stream walking🌳🌻🌼🏞️🌾 Really enjoy your vlogs, watching from Greece!
Thank you Alison, glad you enjoy it
Absolutely Loved This Thank you Both 🙂🙂🧡
Rich is editing a video as I type
Love all your choices of music
Thank you Carole
You do a great job with music. Love your channel by the way
My idea of Heaven! A lovely yarn shop attached to a tea room. I am a knitter and weaver here in Pennsylvania and was so intrigued to see how your loom was set up on your boat.
It was a lovely place to visit. The loom does take up a little room, but I think it is worth it.
Loved the footage of aqueduct and classical music made nice change , you both look so happy and content...soulmates x
Yes we are, we're very lucky
What an incredible structure and so beautifully photographed but, geeez, how close to the edge was that!! I felt emotional for you. (Loved the music on this one, too)
Thank you Andrew. It looks worse now looking back at it than it did from the boat. V we didn't actually like looking down as we went across.
Lovely. I love the Fall colors. Cool nights and warm days.
Another great video and the music was a perfect accompaniment. Not sure how you managed to film yourselves by drone from behind the boat but well done. Rich, thanks for being vulnerable in those moments. Takes courage. Cheers to you both.
Thank you Lance. Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for your vlog, one word from you and the dogs... Glad that you always take your time to properly explore places. Take care. Alan x
You are so right about the dogs. Usually they are good, but being released from the boat or their leads, we have no say!!
Another great video- one of the best yet. The exact journey I did from Trevor on a hire boat 5 years ago. ( Did everything right as well- with all the canal boat videos there should be no excuses for not being able to get through the locks properly , being considerate, polite and helpful to other boaters.)
Hi Fran and Rich. Another great video. Its Dave the woodturner, Who offered to make the Tiller handle for the new boat. I thought I would remind you I'm still up for making it.
Dave x
Thats great Dave. We are off to see the boatbuilder at the weekend so we will talk to him about it
Ive been binge watching all your episodes and particularly enjoyed this one. Ive loved travelling along with you on your journey, looking back at how nervous you were on camera at first and handling the boat, to watching you navigate the aquaduct so expertly. I loved the beautiful music that accompanied your filming, very emotional. Look forward to seeing more of your foraged recipes Fran. Ive never been tempted to go meat free but think I might give it a try. Best wishes to you both
Hi Denise, thank you for watching and especially for going right back to the beginning. we are embarrassed now when we look at the early videos, so well done for persevering with them. Maybe you could just start meat free with a few days a week. I have been meat free for about 5 years now and never look back. Good luck
LOVE THE DRONE FOOTAGE BRILL
It’s 41 degrees here in California with air from the fires so bad we’re advised not to go out, so your green and slightly rainy footage was a bit of a vicarious relief. Coupled with a café with both cake and yarn 🧶 what more could I wish for! Lovely footage, healthy eating and exercise inspiration.. Thanks for sharing your idyll!
Oh no!. I hope you are not too affected by the fires.
Floating Our Boat. Thank you 🙏
Hello, thanks for getting back to me to say where you left to now be bobbing along. My hubby born in Braintree in 67, he remembers when his home town tiny and most people knew each other. We have friends on Gt Notley who bought from the first phase built which 25 plus years ago,how time flies!!Im guessing thats the point your doing what your now doing ,its slowing your world down nicely in these odd times.Anyhow last thing, when my hubby took his motor bike and driving lessons for the tests they had to go off to Colchester because Braintree didnt have roundabout!!! Thats it,have fun-Rock and Roll.......
Hello and thanks for your comment. I bought a house on Gt. Notley in 1994 with my wife Julie who died 5 yes ago. What are your friends names I might know them. Rich.
first: I watch this crossing all the time because I watch a lot of narrowboat vids. I just wish they they would put up a little railing. I would have to be drugged to go over this..My husband died a couple a months ago and I was constantly showing him narrowboat videos saying would nt it be wonderful to go over to the UK and hire a boat .He was all for it So that won't happen now for him or me, so I was particularly touched by the sense of emotion crossing the aqueduct and how lucky you are to have each other which I know you both value and cherish. Thank you for the lovely vid...
So sorry to hear about your husband and what a shame you never got to share the experience of being on a narrowboat with him, but I'm sure you have many happy memories. Cruising the aqueduct was a very moving experience and emotions have a habit of getting the better of us at times like this, bringing back so many memories of the past. Thank you so much for watching our video and taking the trouble to comment. X
Hi Richard and Fran 👏 just us 2 Saying thanks again for sharing this video update 👍 playing catch up been away 🚌 great video as always 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Ah, Hope you two had a great trip x
Scared to death of heights. Y’all are brave. Made my tummy flip flop. Enjoyed this. XXXOOO
Can’t Believe its over 2 yrs ago since I started watching you 2 when you got Bens boat don’t time fly 🙂✌️
It is scary!
Beautiful countryside, beautiful couple, thanks!
Thank you too!
My Mum is round the corner from you guys, on NB Moonshadow. She is too polite to come and say hello, but did send me a picture as they passed Constanze moored up. Say hi from Australia if you see them! Love the videos. A good reminder of the British countryside, the only thing after family that I miss about the UK.
We have passed moonshadow before, but didn't see it this time. However if you look at 'well deck diaries' latest video at 14.20 you will se your mums boat in Chester.
Thank you both for another lovely outing hope you got some lovely yarn I crochet So I would have been in my element in that cafe keep safe both of you see you next time
It's a good job we don't have much room on the boat or it could have been a very expensive visit
What a feat, that aqueduct!
Hi guys.
Another lovely video, with some great tunes to back it up.
Archie must be half dog, half beaver, with the amount of time he spends in the water. Spaniels, eh? ;o)
Enjoy your walks around our beautiful countryside. It's so easy to take for granted all the natural beauty in this country, and the history. The place is dripping with it.
Take care.
All the best.
That's funny, only today we thought he looked like a beaver swimming through that water. X
NICE. And the music . . all of it. NICE.
Great vlog guys, wonderful camera work & very relaxing to watch, both very humble about you’re lifestyle & opportunities. Cheers Pete
Thank you
WOW, the viaduct was awesome to see while you were going over the river. Beautiful countryside, I can't help thinking about what Fran touched on about the place where you used to live. I see people walking the same circuit in my neighborhood everyday and think, that has to get boring after awhile. For the two of you the landscape, towns and weather changes so frequently, it would be hard to have a boring day when you have such beautiful sights.
Again, you are absolutely right Paul. Every day is different and that is the main thing that we love about our life. We are so close to nature and see every little change from day to day as well as have different walks and scenery to look at.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures from the USA
You are welcome
Fran & Rich, my wife and I have just found your RUclips channel the other day. Now so into it we are, `Binge watching,` episodes to catch up with you. Loving them and the slow pace of travel. Some episodes appear to be missing you don`t know where they have gone? Stuart and Isobel.
Hi Stuart and Isobel. Thank you for watching our videos. There is a playlist of all our videos in date order. I think occasionally we have done some without a number, so it can be a bit confusing
Hi Guys such fantastic footage. Thanks.
I watch a few narrowboat channels but i only just discovered yours. Your lifestyle really appeals to me, think it's time to make a move. Thanks for the inspiration..........
Thank you, we were inspired by other boat vloggers and have never looked back x
Hi, have been thoroughly enjoying your vlogs from the start, thank you for taking us along on your journeyings 😊. Like your style. Loved the choice of music for this one too. Hope you enjoy the cruise along the Mon & Brec, and that the weather is kind to you. Please give those two mischievous dogs a pat from us and we'll defo be listening to the podcasts 😊. Kindest regards, Di & Mike (planning to get on the cut soonish).
Thank you so much, dog pats duly given xx
Ah Frankton locks, my favourite for silliness. About 8 years ago, we stopped short of Frankton bottom lock to have a bit of lunch. A hire boat full of very drunk students came around the corner, so I set the lock for them. I believe the lock entry is called in off. With the boat fully in there was some discussion then the boat backed out. "You guys okay!" "No, it's a dead end" made me laugh!
Ha ha, that is so funny. Thank you
Love that blues track you used at the end! Sounded like it was based on Led Zeps 'Babe I'm gonna leave you'. Another awesome vlog guys. Stunning footage!
Rich loves a bit of Led Zep
WOW. Quite a ride across the aqueduct.
hope you enjoyed it
Enjoy that, great scenery, the dogs were like rocket ships when you released them.
They have endless energy

We had a few weather system skip the east coast of the US recently - they usually take a week to mess up the weather in Britain and end up dying in the Biscay (a bay I used to avoid - nowhere to run and a nasty lee shore). Angels Yonder Dale - beautiful - the music you guys introduce us to - always a delight.
Thank you. Maybe you can warn us next time that weathers heading our way
i saw the wool and i started drooling. fellow crotcheter here.
It is hard to resist isnt it?
@@FloatingOurBoat i have 9 huge totes of yarn and tomorrow im going yarn shopping.
Love the music at the end.
Yep, more terrific shots. Joan chuffed to bits to meet you both - top of GB - just got our first signal for ages ! Stunning and wonderment such great words to describe the area. Hope you’ve seen the Red Kites ! Every blessing to you both. Joan and Graham - St Christopher!😘😘👋👋
It was lovely to meet you both last night, wet hair and all!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We haven't noticed the red kites yet, but will be keeping an eye out now. Happy cruising xx
No one is more happier than a lady with leeks in her backpack. 😂
Ha ha, was that Dylan Thomas !!
Excellent. We really do get invested in your life and adventures. Vlogging is great in that it allows us to come along on adventures unavailable otherwise. Rich's sadness upset me, unexpected. I should vlog from the front of a Convair going into the Chatham Islands to show you the opposite side of the planet. Take care.
Thats a great idea, please do it
Just beautiful
Nice, chatty video of your time. Really enjoyed the day/s with you. And, really liked the music during the video. Thank you.
Thank you Diane ❤️
Lovely country. Thanks for sharing!
Its our pleasure
Just listened to your podcast and loved it!!! What a brilliant idea of doing that. I put you on my subscription list and I will eagerly await your next installment. Cheers from the USA!
Thank you
Lovely vlog guys, the aqueduct is something quiet special, happy you got to experience it again. Love all your photography especially the drone footage. Makes me rather envious, nowhere here to fly mine legally here, but in November we're hoping to head to Inner Mongolia for a few weeks so we are praying the grasslands will be as beautiful as the towpaths in the UK, and covered in windflowers.
Wow, that sounds like a fabulous trip.
Just listened to second blog, it's good but I so miss seeing you while you visit! I know I'm spoiled.
Hi Dora, there will be another vlog in the next few days
Brilliant guys again😁👍👏👏👏
Thank you David x
Great show 🎉
your choice of music beautiful
Pleased Rich can walk five miles after recovering from covid 19. My daughter fills the house with yarn for crochet. Like your walks as much as the boating.
Rich has recovered well from Covid, but it has just left us a bit out of condition so the daily long walks should help
There's a lot that can't walk 5 miles without suffering covid 19
Loved the Pontywhatsit aquaduct from a different perspective also beautiful choice of music at the end. Look forward to more.
Thank you x
Love these videos. Get to see the most amazing scenery. Have to say love the final soundtrack you have used. Red Echoes The Last Parade. Big thumbs up.
Thanks 👍
A couple of months ago I viewed a few of your vlogs of early 2020 and they were so interesting that I started from #1 and watched them all. I have been to the England four times as we made frends through Scouting who live in Belpher, Derbyshire. I agree with you that the Peak District is probably the most beautiful of all of England. I live in Missouri in the Heartland of the US.
Hi Thomas, well done for getting through all our vlogs. Hope we brought back some happy memories of your times in England
Your photography is beautiful. A very enjoyable watch. I would love to have seen inside that church.
Thank you
Sat warching this is in LLangollen Marina after crossing the aquaduct yesterday... bum just about unclenched now................. keep up the blogs
Ha ha, and now you have to get back across it I guess 😀
Love it as usual.
Once moored a French Pinechete hire boat on one pin whilst waiting for a lock, lock opened and a large tourist barge plowed off, result was my hire boat and family sucked off the bank and followed it, and me on the bank looking a right pillock ~ ! Saw you on Gary's channel waving !
Whoops
wow i felt so chilled watching that great vlog ty xxx
Thank you for watching
Great vlog as always ..that bunch of walkers you were waiting to come out the Chirk tunnel was us lol ...lovely to meet you both 😊👍even though Darren wouldnt let you run off with his retro camera lol
Ha ha, it was lovely to meet you too. We really don't have room for more cameras so just as well you kept hold of yours
Great choice of music throughout....👍👍
Thank you
A beautiful vlog thank you.
I think the department of Tourism should pay narrow boaters for their footage. It is so wonderful to see what your are seeing. And now I want cock-a-leekie soup.
Soup weather is now upon us so get yourself to Wales and get some leeks
A poignant emotional moment for you both, lovely that you can share the childhood memories together, lovely music going across!! A great choice to fit the speed of the boat... xx
Very well done as always. Thanks
Thank you
Beautiful photography. Thank you very much.
Lovely vlog....🤗💜😷
Perfect music for the Ponty. I don't know what it is at the moment with speeding boats, and it is not just hire boats, but private boats as well. A Black Prince boat went pasted me 2 days ago at 7.30 am so fast whilst I was having breakfast with a cup of tea, and it tilted the boat so much the tea fell of the dinette.
Hi Trev. You are right, it is often private boats. I spoke to a man last week who fell outof bed in the middle of the night as a boat went past so fast !!!
@@FloatingOurBoat Why do they buy narrowboats? Some would be much better on the sea or a lake with a speed boat.
OMG just beautiful

Excellent drone footage of the aqueduct.
