Ha ha. We have that problem when we make slow gin. It seems to evaporate less if you hide it right at the front under the bow storage area where you can't reach it!! Anyway, there is always sherry 😋
I went out for the first time in WEEKS this morning. It is an odd feeling going out and about. I needed to get out because I'm getting nervous not getting out. I'm almost scared to drive anywhere. It was a good trip. I went to a couple food stores and a craft store wearing my mask in the stores! I wish I could join you for a G&T with Mark and Deb! For Father's Day I purchased my husband a Nicholson's Map of the Inland waterways of Britain so we could follow along with all of our RUclips cruising the cut buddies.

We walked past you at Crick, but were too shy to say hello lol Loving all your recipes and remedies Fran. It would be great if you could write a book of Recipes, Remedies & Foraging Tips. I for one would definitely buy it , it would be really popular 😊 . All the best and keep on keeping on
Oh you should have said hello, that's why we were there. ☺ Glad you like the foraging etc. We have been asked to write a book, but it is a difficult topic unless you are a real expert. Who knows, one day we might.
I can see why you fancy having a side hatch near your dining area. Those shots of the moorhen and the dog were great.
Congleton, another Quarry destination for me but trust me I wish I was drenched in the beautiful canal scenery that you guys witness every day all day.
I lived on a Narrowboat for 14 years and had a couple of those key fobs! They do work.

Thanks for another great vlog. Love you guys. I’m the gal who’s radish challenged. Loved your salad with the little radishes. Mine sprout but don’t bulb up. May have planted too closely. I feel a right numpty for not being able to grow radishes! I also grow veg in containers because I live in a row house with a quite small back yard. I live in South Carolina where the weather is pretty good most of the time for growing. The tomatoes go dormant in the height of summer due to the heat but if I cut them back judiciously I can get a small fall crop. Thanks again for the great vids!

Thanks for sharing the different types of Key-bobs! I think the one where you just add water is hilarious! I think it's more of a psychological scheme. If you don't trust it and you test it, it no longer works. On the other hand, if you do trust it and it doesn't work you can always find the one you've hidden! LOL Stay safe and healthy!

Hi Rich when I first went to sea as a Cadet back in the '50's I remember Lister diesels were used as emergency fire pumps and I recall talking to an engineer about the noise and he told me"Ah these things run on Brylcream so " ...very reliable though
Ah, they will be evermore known as Brylcream engines!!
I think you are correct Ralph my boat has a Lister 3 cylinder in it, she is a bit rattly in tick over but I am told they are bombproof.

Good you got down the bosley flight,I haven't seen bosley that busy in years haha,I've lived at bosley top lock on my boat for 2 years now,mine was the one with the pirate flag and little decking area on the towpath,keep up the great vids.....ady

You moored less than a mile from our mooring. And we are heading in the same direction (T&M, Middlewich Branch, Llangollen) at the end of next week. If you see someone waving on a boat with a very similar colour scheme to yours ... that's us 😀

Another nice vlog, I was at that swing bridge at the beginning recently, I had stopped to look at some vintage cars across the road and wondered over afterwords to discover it was the cut, I took some pictures from the bridge, then I drove over and came home from there, it seems to be a cyclist route as well, take care.x

My sister lives in Wales. They can’t travel more than 5 miles from home at the moment. Pretty tough when so many live out in the sticks!! Mind you if you’re going to take a month to get up there hopefully all will be open. I reckon the Llangollen going to take a pretty big hit of boaters this year!!! 😀 keep smiling

Fran do you eat cheese as in your quiche? I am long overdue sending you my quichy pie recipe but the cheese thing makes me think that my pie wont work as it takes 2 - 3 cups of grated cheese?? Just comment and let me know.

Great to see you’re on the move at last. I can’t wait to see where you get to. Your quiche looked really nice so I think I might make one for tomorrow’s lunch. Our hens have been laying away and yesterday we found a stash of 32 eggs! I’ll have to check them all to make sure they’re OK to eat but I was wondering what to do with them and now I know 😀 I have cheese and leeks so that sounds tasty. I’ll need to keep thinking because there’ll still be 26 to use 😂😂😂
Lovely story about the eggs Sylvia. We really miss our fresh eggs and watching the hens scrub around the garden. It's something to look forward to in the future. The same thing happened to us before we moved out of our house. I kept complaining that the hens had all stopped laying over winter, then we moved a potting bench and there were piles of eggs among at the flower pots.

We 'Enthusiastic Hire Boaters' use 'leisure radios' (walkie-talkies) for communication between lock crews (compared to you two, we are mob handed,) 'lockers' to the boat and, often, the stern to the saloon for tea/coffee orders! Do you and Fran use radio, as when Rich was working the locks for other boats?
I follow your progress (and my other vlogger's) on my Nicholson Inland Waterways map, with occasional reference to the actual Nicholson if I've got it. It took me a blue age to find Bosley Locks and only then did I twig the route you are intending. You miss Harecastle (ugh!) and through my favourite section of canal - Heartbreak Hill to Kings Basin. The Middlewich Branch was a bit boring, I thought, but I've watched other vloggers on the Llangollen and it looks fabulous. (Looks like radio would be useful though! Great vlog, as usual.

Ha ha,I only ever pick 1 in every 20 flowers to leave some for others. I actually found Hemlock water droplet there which is the most deadly poisonous plant in UK, so no picking was done!!!!

So Rich, did you check out the self inflating key fob yet? If not and if no one else has suggested it, I would tie the key to a string first, through it in and see what happens. If it does not inflate get a hold of the manufacturer....... Just curious, does the fob have an expiry date? Fair locks...
