  • More like 700 miles but who's counting. This is my first review on my Royal Enfield Classic 350. Its a great bike as long as you come in with the right knowledge.
Sorry I must have bumped the angle of my camera and didnt know it. Its just slightly off but it is enough to notice.

With that colour scheme you could park next to some WW2 vehicles and people would think it was authentic. I have a Chrome Bronze and just the other day a guy told me I must be proud of having restored the bike to such a high standard! He nearly choked when I told him it was brand new and what it cost to buy. As you say, they're great machines for taking it slow and easy but handle better than you'd expect.

The 'Signals' edition is a tribute to the Indian Army's Signal Corps, which played a significant role in communication during India's various wars with our rather unpleasant neighbors. The gentlemen couriers and their bikes endured long travels through jungles, deserts, Himalayas, you name it. Any family with grandfathers or uncles in the army have tales to tell regarding these bikes.

Mild correction, Corps of signals was responsible for signals intelligence and communications. The couriers who rode the green royal enfields are called DRs (dispatch riders) and did not necessarily have to be from corps of signals and many units had their own.

Just bought three of these - me, son and friend. I've been riding since 1971, and this is probably the most fun I've had since then! I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes, but make no mistake, this one is a blast, and affordable!
In my case, we got the Classic 350 "Reborn" models. OTD, with all taxes, fees, etc, they were about $6500. I feel that they were a great buy! The fun we are having hasn't worn off one bit!
    FWIW, I"m 6'-4". 230lbs. Totally comfortable!
You can't go anywhere without people wanting to take about it - bikers and non bikers alike.
    Ride safe all!

I've got a Classic 350 Signals edition as well, have just over 1k miles on it in about 2 months, LOVE it. I also have a 1200cc Sportster, and just came off a 1700cc Heritage Classic. I was worried the small motor would be an issue, but after over 1k miles all over back highways in Northwest Arkansas, small city commuting, etc, this bike is awesome. I literally haven't touched the Sportster in around 2 months now, and currently have it for sale, as the Classic 350 is everything I need. The most fun I've had on a motorcycle in years.
Edit: I just realized your channel is Arkansas. I bet you got it at Synergy didn't you? lol I thought I was the only guy in Arkansas cruising around on a RE Classic 350!

    Man, you got me convinced.
I'm on the fence between RE Classic/Meteor and the KW Vulcan S 650. So I'm now more inclined towards RE, the outstanding look is also a good part of it.
More than anything, I think this is a bike that mainly teaches you patience and forces you to think before acting. No stupid moves are allowed with this one. You have to think, plan and execute. Just how it should always be.

My daughter has one. I've ridden it a few times while she is waiting on her lowered seat to come in the mail so I say this with a little experience on the bike and it reminds me of a 18 wheeler Diesel engine. Many diesel engines give better performance and better fuel mileage shifting in lower rpms. Not higher rpms. You'll actually lose power and fuel.
I really feel this is the case with the classic and I think that is why your mileage is not as high. While your waiting to "redline" your rpms so to speak you could have already changed gears and had more torque to pull you out.
I think that is where your mileage is going.
Thats the way I change gears on my daughters bike and it is a little torquey and it has no problems pulling the speed out at lower rpms. I always feel it in my stomach when I get off the bike. My goldwing doesn't have do that.

I own one exactly like yours. Even the same exact color. I love it. I cruise around the back roads at about 50 MPH which is the speed limit around here. I go 65 MPH down the interstate at times but very little of that. I love the fact that it's the quietest motorcycle I've ever ridden. It just hums at 50 MPH. I'm getting anywhere from 65 to 80 MPG depending on the way I ride which to me is awesome when I consider we're paying sometimes 5 bucks a gallon. I installed panniers and use it for grocery shopping whenever I need small things.

I went to synergy for 30 minutes one day and they tried to sell me the interceptor and I really didn't like the interceptor at all. Anyway, I started reviewing the various RE Classic 350 videos and it started to grow on me. I really got turned on by the all chrome version. But noticed your classic is all blacked out and thought that might be good as well, for rust and all. Seems like the only problem those bikes have is rust on the bottom, near that catilack attack converter thingie. I suppose just putting a new pipe exhaust on the bike and completely removing it would be appropriate. I know all about the 70 mph problem with this bike, so I"m waiting for Triumph to release the new Bonneyville 500 for 2024. A 500 CC single piston bike would be a pretty good solution for our needs around here but, I"m not throwing out the RE Classic 350 idea just yet. I just wish they made a 450 or 500 single piston version of the CLASSIC for our purposes.

In India, people who buys this bike doesnt buy it for speed, rather to ride it as slow as possible to produce that loud thumping sound. This bike is considered macho here, a ride of the real men. So its a favourite bike of the army, police, politicians, and even the gangsters, apart from normal bike lovers. A gangster riding a 'bullet' gains more respect than a guy in suzuki or bajaj.
The police never stops a rider on a RE, they know the last thing they would do is go over the speed limits.

No. This bike would be unsafe as an interstate bike. It’s too slow and you would be having to give it 100% power the whole time you were on the interstate. This bike is more suited for 55-60 mph highways.
