I commute around a 1000 miles a month on mine. Apart from having to keep on top of the aluminium on the engine covers and fork legs to stop corrosion. It’s a perfect bike! Talking to my Enfield mechanic. He said it’s restricted to 80% power via ECU, so you can full throttle it in 5th on the faster roads and it won’t harm the engine. Basically it’ll do 70mph all day long.
I live in southern Austria , where most of the roads are twisty , and the straight bits are 100 kph , so my chrome/ bronze 350 is just perfect for chilled , relaxed riding
The new Enfield 350s are truly excellent. Nice that you have a family of Enfields to compare with. I am a downsized 65 year old riding a Meteor. The seat height and tank size attracted me, but I am really not sold on the forward footrests. Perhaps there is a Hunter coming. I live in the German countryside and it really does everything I need. Don't mind a couple of stops on the autobahn but with 75% of traffic driving at 60mph because of the horrendous fuel prices, it's not a problem. You were rightly very complimentary of the handling, that comes from 50 years of Harris Racing's chassis development. The top speed is electronically governed, check out Hichcocks dyno test video. You can ride these things all day against the stop without harm. But why. Great review.
I'm considering the Hunter for daily commuting aswell, in my late 30's, here in South Bohemia. I think the seating position is something of a cultural habit actually...the Birts seem quite used to forward pegs, the Americans take that to extreme with cruisers, while here in continental Europe, we prefer the more upright position.
Like wise Tim. I'm 69 and want to down size from my Vulcan VN900 which is a decidedly foot forward cruising bike. Even with 900cc I rarely go above 65mph but at 650lbs its not a great town bike. So the little 350 classic burbling along at 60 max is fine. And lets be honest the chrome model just looks fabulous. Brings back a love affair i had with my old Matchless G12 . Chrome , burnished alloy and pinstrips ( gorgeous) Fun before performance is what im after and the RE will fit the bill, as my wifes little Mazda MX5 fits hers.
It’s a hopeless daily rider! Early Spring mornings as the daylight starts to stretch out it’ll distract you from the commute, take you away to fun places and you’ll get absolutely nothing done. It’s a wonderful, joyous means to explore, to just bimble, or to follow one of Simon Weir’s rides. I absolutely love mine.
Great reply John lol . Picking up mine this week ( Red and Chrome) But as I'm retired all I do is ride for fun and only in fair weather . Going from a Kawasaki 900 to the Enfield is a big down size but I've found modern style bikes spectacularly high spec and performance but totally souless . The Enfield has character and soul buy the bucket full
My ‘23 Halcyon green classic is an enjoyable ride; used appropriately it’s been a great bike. Seems to be bulletproof in build quality too. Thumping along at 50mph in the rolling farmlands of N IL and S WI has been a real pleasure. Money well spent.
I've been commuting on mine since last year. My route covers basically all types, Dual carridge, A & B road, Urban and even a chunk of country roads to get into Birmingham. It handles everything with exceptional ease, its nimble enough to get through traffic and the pleasant amount of low end torque gives you enough grunt to handle the vast majority of situations. The only situations where I've found limitations and perhaps just abit more rider caution is dual carridgeways and motorways (I Have once taken it on the M42 and M6 with no issues it was just boring) but if you want to overtake or join a carridge you do need to think about it a bit more to be safe. Otherwise its a completely brilliant machine thats fun to ride and great to look at.
Hi thanks for your detailed review 👍😁 Along with other folks comments who comment on my films and vise versa to add to your main question; definitely yes to daily riding as an everyday bike 👍 10 months near daily use as my only transport it starts every time, and apart from some degreasing some over greased electrical connections which were upsetting the speedo and engine management light going on there has been nothing gone wrong, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with this bike in 5000 miles, and after the winter zero rust on original parts - spokes need pre winter treatment being non stainless but this is a 4K bike!, my van engine replacement bill is going to be way more than this brilliant bike! Check my real world daily use channel of this bike if your not convinced, The U.K. is obsessed with bhp and top speed, use your mobile phone when out riding and look at the real average speed you actually ride and that’s the secret of the Classic 350, it has a bigger character 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
I agree Mark, it’s a simple fun little bike! Hate motorways, just love secondary roads. I love mine to bits. I find myself carrying too much corner speed because it’s so nimble & reasonably planted ✅
Lovely review,,passed my direcet access last week,,im 49,the only reason i got into biking was to own one of these, and this review has just confirmed what i thort, thank you👍
I am 6'3" and tested that bike a good while ago. It's a great little bike. Feels bigger than it looks. Even I was used my Kawasaki Z900RS, I missed nothing in this bike. It's different. Back to the roots. Love it!
They're restricted electronically to (if I remember correctly) 72mph & should do it in 4th & 5th gears. I test rode one and was very impressed, a lovely lovely bike if you like the style of them. I'm late '50's & will probably have one as my next bike (downsizing from V-Strom 650). The Hunter also looks great with it's moden styling, personally I don't like the meteor at all but RE really do have something for everybody don't they...
Had mine 7 months. Used for daily commute if you want some decent response out the engine buy a decat pipe and DNA air filter which certainly improves power up hills which it would otherwise struggle with. Some parts starting to rust so prepare them for winter or change to stainless steel. It's a great ride !
It is remarkable just what a great riding experience this bike delivers. It's an entirely modern, refined and capable bike that retains the character of older Enfields, but without the foibles. It's precisely the right amount of performance so that you can use every bit of it. One thing, the speedo flatters to deceive, reading a good 10% over, but it doesn't _matter,_ because you'll have a blast anyway.
Awesome Royal Enfield Classic 350 Red Chrome! What a lovely ang comfortable bike to ride! It is true this is perfect for daily commuting ang long distance travel as well. The tone of an engine and pipe is so cool and soothing in ears and heart! I am in-love with this bike perfect companion!
Any bike is okay as a daily rider. I always used to have one bike. Whatever I had, I rode. Now I have enough money to have several, but I could just as happily use my 950 as my 155 scooter.
I DO wish they'd kept the kickstarter as well as having the electric, as on earlier Enfields. Instances arise where the battery is too weak to start the bike, particularly in cold weather, and you get stranded. I have a Ural sidecar rig, one of the few bikes still having both kick and electric, and it's really nice to have the kickstarter as a backup. A couple of years ago my electric starter crapped out and for about six months I just used the kickstarter until I finally got it fixed. My bike usually starts second kick every time. That being said, I really like this Enfield 350.
Stranded realy? Its not a truck, just push and jump on it. I drove to work on my old 1.2 petrol car with my starter motor in trunk when it dyed on me, and that was 800 kilos not 195. 😁
I'm with you. I wish it had kick only no need for electric start on a simple bike. I had a Suzuki gn400, kick only, way back in 1980 never missed elec start. Rarely ever killed it and if so it always started first kick.
@@sheepdog8442 That only works if you are up on a hill, not flat ground. You're not going to push this thing singlehandedly and get it going, trust me.
Useful review for me as I’m thinking about one of these as a runabout & commuter but at 6’3” I was worried it would look like a monkey bike and not go very fast. Of all the reviews I’ve seen then the answer appears to be yes it might be undersized and a bit slow but it’s loads of fun. Also useful input from Patrick as my daughter will no doubt be climbing on the back at some point so it’s good to know this one won’t hurt her bladder 😂
Great review but I love the Hunter, not a fan of spoked wheels. I'm glad to hear you've upset a few manufacturers, nowt wrong with constructive criticism! Love the unfiltered input from young Patrick.
I loved your enthusiastic review of the Enfield Classic. I enjoyed it as though I was riding it and not you. Is that a bit weird. Hope not , I think it was a real as it could possibly be and a very pleasant and enjoyable 1/2 hr or so thanks👍
The rear rack mounts through the rear seat and straight to the frame. Hardest part fitting is lining up the bolts with the holes. Remove front seat first, a lot easier, fitting bolts use loctite or similar and tight to release. Hope this helps.
Of course she's a daily ride! In fact I'd leave larger bikes for weekend longer hikes. Now I've got my Classic350, I can look at my leisure for a decently priced Bonnie 110/120/Bobber. My 350 now has the DNA breather and decat pipe; that gives a throatier note, definitely more torque and a great old-time pop and crack when I'm engine breaking down steep declines. She's a keeper 👍
Great review mate as always If I wanted a RE work bike Id go for the meteor as its way easier to keep clean . Apart from without tank cheeks I can see the paint (specially the metalic) suffering from abrasion The Classic is way nicer to look at but chrome and burnished alloy casing take more looking after. However im retired and fair weather rider so the classic would be my choice purely as it looks fabulous.
Well now you've got me questioning my choices. I'm just about to take my CBT and had my heart set on the Hunter in Rebel Blue next winter (a wise man once told me, "always by a bike in the winter") after I get my full licence. The looks, the price, the fact it has the same engine as it's sisters' but is somehow more perkier and yet smoother than they are just does it for me. The Classic, while looking nice, doesn't. But the Classic in that configuration? Something is stirring in my loins. It's just rust on those steel spokes compared to the alloy mag wheels of the Hunter holding me back. Still that's nothing some masking tape on the brake discs and ACF50 can't fix. Then you top off a great video by telling us you're reviewing the Keeway RK V125C in your next video. The bike I plan as my first. I'm so looking forward to that, I hit the notification bell
Perfect Review & Pro made. Lovely looking bike & sound of it. 👍 but 2 inspections a year. that does not sound like quality. and i'm to poor to be social 2 times a year 😞
Fantastic review.......your grandson is very entertaining. Although since he small I dont think he counts as a pillion (weight wise) He did have some fantastic points though.......Keep up the great work. i am def subscribing.
Although I enjoyed your review as I already mentioned. I ride a Honda SH 300i it’s a twist a go scooter with 17” ish wheels This is the ultimate every day bike with protection from British weather for your legs and a screen for for your upper body together with heated grips and bar muffs enabled my trip to Aberdeen and back every month 310 mile one way in relative comfort regardless of the weather for years. And always a 80mpg. And it wizzes through traffic and will sit all day at 70 mph and will readily ramp up to an easy 80 for a quick overtake before settling back to the 70 mph cruise mode. Having said all that I am going to get a Enfield for my sunny days riding in the dales it just looked bliss along them bumpy country roads.
I really enjoyed your review on this RE 350 Classic. Two questions. (1). What year is the bike? (2). I noticed that there was no visor on the front headlight. If you could/would get back to me on that I would genuinely appreciate it. I live in the USA and these bikes are not easy to find. I just want to give a little shout-out to young Patrick for his honesty and input in the video. Thank you, both Gentleman.
I found it is a different kind of riding, I always was intrigued by the B5 but poo pooed the idea of owning one because of the 27 horses and pondering looks although the overall look has always been extremely pleasing. All I wanted was speed, power and sharp handling which I have enjoyed for many years at sensible levels. However RUclips reviews and main players on here for the Royal Enfield convinced me to buy a B5 to give it a chance… In short I absolutely love my it. My B5 I love everything about it and if honest I would have bought one years ago. It’s characteristics make it such a pleasure to ride and just relax taking in the surroundings is therapeutic. I must be honest and say I do miss sports performance sometimes and fancy a good ole buzz however a few miles on the Bullet sucks me back into the chilled side and realise that speed is not everything 😂 Long may the Bullet live on in any engine size.
Test rode one this week and had been through its whole repertoire in a 20 minute test ride. Sadly just not enough on offer other than a comfy ride and it's looks
I have the 2023 Signal Marsh Grey Mod: 1.DNA 2. Fuelx lite Good to go... Best Part: Great video. Informative and fun. Your sons blatter pee gig at the end.. priceless!
Good video. I hope it was already run in before. Had a 1990’s 500 bullet but couldn’t stand the vibrations compared to a Norton. Plus hrs working on it, to go for a ride. Looked at buying a 350 classic, however, once bitten twice shy The new Honda GB350 arrived in Australia, love it. Run in properly and oil changed at 500 ks then completed run in. 2,600 ks now. ❤️😍👍 If bank balance on pension would extend still like a 650 Enfield. Cheers Brian
I'd be very tempted to daily a 350classic. Do you think it's artificially limited to 70? Certainly gives the impression of being capable of a bit more. Are cast wheels an option? Tubed tyres don't help for an easy diy puncture fix.
I love mine ..the only disappointment is that the rear brake pedal isn’t cast..it’s just a formed piece of flat steel, so it’s easily bent ! A backup kickstart would be nice as well
This would be a perfect bike for me, if I lived in rural England. Unfortunately, I live in a large city in Texas, with many miles, mostly freeways and congested stroads, between me and the countryside.
That is a brilliant bike ! Unfortunately being 6'4'' I wish they made the frame 6' longer and 4'' taller for the western markets. Having owned a Bullet 500 in the past I can definitely see one of these in my future as it will be perfect for the backroads. PS the bike featured may have the optional lower seat fitted.
Having owned the classic 350 here in the US for several months, I have to say the hard rev/speed limiter at 72mph is a drawback. The bike could go faster, it could handle the interstate at 75mph. You'll feel a discomforting stutter as the bikes pulls you back to 72 on a downhill. I would recommend the monkey which gets twice as much efficiency but no limiter, or the continental/int which can do all speeds at about same efficiency
I've also fitted the heel and toe gear shift (as you will see is fitted on the bikes in the RE factory maintenance videos!) - that has transformed the bike for me. You don't mention any problems shifting but I really struggled with it because of the position of my foot on the peg (standard pegs at present but thinking of buying the fat ones).
Have to disagree about bar ends, had some fitted to my interceptor and they had quite a big blind spot, so changed back to regular ones, pity as they looked great, it's a each to their own thing.
Was in with my himalayan today and had the scram 411 on loan. Looked at the 350 and 650s. Royal enfield are lovely looking simple bikes. Really enjoyable machines to ride. 350 is lovely but I feel having the himalayan if I got another enfield it would be the 650 just for the extra pole when going longer distance.
For short squirt at 70 it would be OK but I wouldnt want to maintain it for too long. A good quality bike for the price, I personally dont like that classic style but I cant deny It would make a good commuter and run around.
It's a beautiful bike. Unfortunately, not enough power for me. My first bike was a '74 Honda 450 parallel twin. Was highway capable, with a pilllion. I wish this was.
I test rode a 350 it was the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. Better than my 500 classic, better even than my 650 Int. Better than my Vespas or my Piaggios. Better than a Honda Pacific Coast or my Halcyon 450, Better than a Suzuki Boulevard. Here in the States freeway riding is an inevitability. I had it up to 60mph... and I was left wanting. Wanting just 2 more HP. Perhaps some simple add-ons will make it a more viable option.
Hi i had my fingers crossed you would like the bike, I will be having mine delivered March the first same colour, the young lad Patrick nailed it about the colour of the seat. Who is doing those parts for the prices you quoted i do like those mirrors. Cheers Baz
Hi, great videosop, have you done a test ride on a Herald classic 400, i can't seem to find one on the list. Trying to decide between Enfield, Benelli or Herald, i can't seem to get a test ride on a Benelli but hoping to get one on a Herald.
Forgive me for pointing out that to the best of my knowledge royal enfield offer a 3 year warranty and roadside assistance on the 350 in range in the UK 👍🏻
It really looks like a fun bike to ride. But, I would definitely not like to use it on long distance rides, like city to city rides where you need to use highways at 75 - 80 mph.
Good enough for daily riding in India, will be fine for the UK. Those that always use motorways or primary roads should not be looking at this bike in the first place. Perhaps look into selling RE, they have high selling units and more on the way.
@Motors for the Masses You may have been able to provide a better sales and service than the other organisation. But... rules are rules. Perhaps go for the rival brands, BSA perhaps? Give the prospective clients something to think about. You didn't get where you are now by not knowing the market. Keep going kind sir.
@@teamtempest844 I went for BSA also, but they didn't like that I do so many brands and the like the HUGE corporate image buildings. The guy from BSA India liked the idea of me having them but the marketing girl who went from MotoGB to BSA gave it to someone with a newer looking building.
@Motors for the Masses Your information does not suprise me, they want who they want. Well, you tried, and they are at least aware if your intentions and area coverage should circumstances change. Perhaps advertise your website more on the videos, may lead to more parts or unit sales, at least views. Consider a rebrand or building development but of course this would be costly. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing - many appreciate your charisma and efforts.
@@motorsforthemasses Have they seen the original BSA buildings in Birmingham? How soon a brand forgets it's roots. I won't tag another RUclipsr on your channel, but someone just did a video the other day riding the new Goldstar while talking about their history
So... my question is... can this bike do 100 - 110 kph for extended periods, and what are the vibrations like at that speed? I don't plan to do a ton of highway driving, but may use the highway to get to other more relaxed riding areas, and anything much less than 100 - 110 kph can be a little dangerous. Don't want to be "that guy" who's holding everyone up in the slow lane... lol. My "fast" bike is a '68 BMW R69S, which I love, but I don't trust it on longer trips.
Thanks for the review. “The wheels are not stainless” Sorry but are you sure? Carbon steel wheels would rust every time they get wet. An absolute deal breaker.
There’s a point of confusion in many motorcycle videos. When you mention your inseam, are you talking about the length of your pant legs, or the distance from crotch to ground with your shoes on? Thank you in advance.
It's a beautiful motorcycle, although a bit skeptical l'm seriously thinking of buying one, Chrome Bronze in particular. I live on a Greek Island and I worry about rust, are there any rust issues with this motorcycle?
I can never finish this video! Every time I start I have to stop it and go outside and ride my Royal Enfield!
yes i know what you mean LOL
An easy way to understand torque and horsepower is, "Torque is what gets you there, horsepower is what keeps you there." Great video, well done.
I commute around a 1000 miles a month on mine. Apart from having to keep on top of the aluminium on the engine covers and fork legs to stop corrosion. It’s a perfect bike!

I ride two-up most of the time. Being torquey it doesn't really make much difference even with a full-sized Fiancé on the back. Love it 👍

If I wasn't 6 foot 3 thia would be in my garage, great lil' bikes. Brilliant review.
Great honest review as usual Mark.
Can't wait to see what you think of the new Keeway v-twin 125 .
Do you know if the rear rack can be installed with the pillion removed?
@@KS-ei9hm as far as I know, the rear rack is for the rear seat only, try the dealers.
Of course it is . Mine is great , and gives a sense of occasion every time i start it 👍👍
First review I've seen with this getting to 70. Good review, and seems like a decent bike tbf
Very tempted to get this
Great review I have it in the classic red chrome plus I have the 350 meteor and a continental, 535GT which I love I’ve owned that for 7 years 😊
I have two RE 350's and love both of them. They are my daily riders. A Meteor and a classic Signal.
Great review mate as always
If I wanted a RE work bike Id go for the meteor as its way easier to keep clean .
Apart from without tank cheeks I can see the paint (specially the metalic) suffering from abrasion
The Classic is way nicer to look at but chrome and burnished alloy casing take more looking after.
but 2 inspections a year. that does not sound like quality.
and i'm to poor to be social 2 times a year 😞
Pat is going to be good on RUclips and motorcycles.
just doing my DAS at the young age of 50. Im my long and rambling search for a bike, this keeps coming up.
Fantastic review.......your grandson is very entertaining. Although since he small I dont think he counts as a pillion (weight wise) He did have some fantastic points though.......Keep up the great work. i am def subscribing.
Exactly as you say.. the stats on paper don't tell the full story. Great bikes.
I have the 2023 Signal Marsh Grey
Mod:
1.DNA
2. Fuelx lite
Good to go...
Best Part:
Great video.
Informative and fun.
Your sons blatter pee gig at the end.. priceless!
Good video.
I hope it was already run in before.
Had a 1990’s 500 bullet but couldn’t stand the vibrations compared to a Norton. Plus hrs working on it, to go for a ride.
Looked at buying a 350 classic, however, once bitten twice shy
The new Honda GB350 arrived in Australia, love it.
Run in properly and oil changed at 500 ks then completed run in. 2,600 ks now. ❤️😍👍
If bank balance on pension would extend still like a 650 Enfield.
Cheers
Brian
Yes it was a press bike.
I'd be very tempted to daily a 350classic.
Do you think it's artificially limited to 70? Certainly gives the impression of being capable of a bit more.
Are cast wheels an option? Tubed tyres don't help for an easy diy puncture fix.
cast wheels £400 from Hitchcocks Motorcycles
A lovely review I was hooked nicely done
Great review, thanks.
Such a beautiful bike!
I've gone for the bar end mirrors - maybe not so great for tight filtering but much better rear view than the mouse ear originals
Great real world review 👏
Was in with my himalayan today and had the scram 411 on loan. Looked at the 350 and 650s. Royal enfield are lovely looking simple bikes. Really enjoyable machines to ride. 350 is lovely but I feel having the himalayan if I got another enfield it would be the 650 just for the extra pole when going longer distance.
As soon as the 650 Meteor arrives, RE are sending me that to review.
@@motorsforthemasses few new models coming, as long as it doesn't have the stupid moped shifter like the 350. Looks really nice fit and finish on it.
@@rabfergy7155 It doesn't, it's got a proper one
For short squirt at 70 it would be OK but I wouldnt want to maintain it for too long. A good quality bike for the price, I personally dont like that classic style but I cant deny It would make a good commuter and run around.
Love the halcyon Black. Pretty sure it has a 3 year warranty.
Cheers
Baz
Hi, those prices were on the Accessories section of the Royal Enfield website. Was, and now prices.
@@motorsforthemasses Thank you for the reply, i will have a look.
I would put a better pipe and air filter on it and change the rear sprocket to make it more relaxed on fast roads.
"Poopy red and poopy brown" 😂😂 Cute
Would love to try this bike!
I have, I was not allowed to have them as the nearest dealer was less than 30 miles away.
It's the perfect rider here in India. I don't have to honk, it's a lion walking slowly in the jungle and everyone is watching you. 🤣
I'm not into the poopy colors either. My favorite are the Signal versions
My dad says he had 79 out of the old 350 Bullet, so this has gone backwards ! Looks very similar to the old Bullet.
So... my question is... can this bike do 100 - 110 kph for extended periods, and what are the vibrations like at that speed? I don't plan to do a ton of highway driving, but may use the highway to get to other more relaxed riding areas, and anything much less than 100 - 110 kph can be a little dangerous. Don't want to be "that guy" who's holding everyone up in the slow lane... lol. My "fast" bike is a '68 BMW R69S, which I love, but I don't trust it on longer trips.
I ride my classic 350 on highways. It will sit fine on 100 to 110kph if you don't mind the wind in your face.
Poopy thing caught me off guard. 😂
Love that jacket where did you get it and what make is it ?
Hi, that is the Oxford Heritage...no longer made and nothing else similar in their range now sadly.
"...hurts my bladder." 😄
kids say the most random yet weirdly accurate things.
They put love into that thing
Three Year Warranty!!
And Brakedown cover from Royal Enfield included.
Not Two?on all 🇬🇧 uk Royal Enfields .😊
Thanks for the review. “The wheels are not stainless” Sorry but are you sure? Carbon steel wheels would rust every time they get wet. An absolute deal breaker.
There’s a point of confusion in many motorcycle videos. When you mention your inseam, are you talking about the length of your pant legs, or the distance from crotch to ground with your shoes on? Thank you in advance.
Hard to find where I live in Ohio and if you do find a dealership that sells them they dont have the full line up .
Very sad. These up coming brands are taking over but it seems American importers and the mainstream public in the US haven't warmed to them yet.
Hello David I'm from Ohio also just northwest of Dayton they have quite a few in stock at the Throttle company in Columbus cheers ride safe
It's a beautiful motorcycle, although a bit skeptical l'm seriously thinking of buying one, Chrome Bronze in particular.
I live on a Greek Island and I worry about rust, are there any rust issues with this motorcycle?
No issue
I am Indian we drive in Rainy weather hot humids
By the looks of it your bike has the low seat option fitted.
Would this handle a sidecar as well as your brothers 500 bullet does?
HaHa, We love this bike and the content creator 😊👍
hello dear Sir, may I ask how tall are you? do you think it would be any suitable for a 6.2 ft tall rider like myself?
Stunning looking bike & only £4.5k? Bargain if you ask me!
How does it compare with the Humter?
