    Let me break it down for you. If you want to capture exceptional cinematic footage, whether for film or videography, consider the following breakdown: 10% comes from the camera, 20% from the lens you choose, 20% from lighting, and the remaining 50% from your knowledge of lighting techniques, framing, composition, focal lengths, and storytelling. Instead of constantly chasing new gear, focus on mastering the equipment you have, understanding its sensor capabilities, and leveraging its strengths. New gear won’t necessarily make you a better filmmaker, but dedicating time to research and honing your craft will. That said, if you choose to invest in every new camera on the market, that’s entirely up to you.

      Yes exactly. I feel like when you have the knowledge, and slowly work up to good gear, you can make almost anything look good with most cameras now days. I have an fx6 and won't be switching anytime soon. I do want to learn how to use other systems though in case projects require it. Thats were renting comes in :)

    nice review! maybe next time keep the shots the same for both cameras, so we arent judging the actual shot and can just focus on image quality

    I had used FX6 shooting presentation video and suffered from the internal video codec limitation. So no FX6 any more. I do need RAW file for more color and bit dept handling, not any Log compressed video.

    • @stumpflukas
      @stumpflukas  Месяц назад

      I can relate! It depends always on the jobs you do, but BRAW or RAW in general is really handy!

    • @dp_zee
      @dp_zee Месяц назад +3

      I've never felt the fx6 codec was limiting in coloring. I just shot a movie with venice 1 as A cam and fx6 as b cam and the image is indistinguishable. That being said I rarely shoot heavy rgb or weird lighting conditions which need to be saved in the grade, so if an image needs saving because it was poorly shot, then I can't comment. But in any normal lighting and exposure environment i never felt the need for raw

    • @8KHDRVideoBySittipong

      @@dp_zee Thank you. I shot FX6 in extreme RGB pure color in the scene rhen it really showed that the internal codex could not hold up well with that extreme scenes. In normal scenes it was really good, but for extreme scenes it could not.

    Nice review man! SUBBED. I saw the first shot winning for the PYXIS. The rest of the shots were very similar. When it comes to price point, PYXIS is the play. Even when you buy the DJI Lidar for the PYXIS allowing the AF option , the PYXIS is still a better price.

    • @stumpflukas
      @stumpflukas  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you! And it's funny how light changes everything. If you look closely you see, that the "garden shot" with the Pyxis just has the "better light" from the sun. When I was filming with the FX6 it was cloudy and more flat. But yes I think they are close - nothing you could not "repair" with some grading. All shots were just brought to a rec709 color space.

    Im a travel “vlogger” Im still using my canon R6 mk1 lol not the best on paper but I’ve been traveling everywhere with that camera, I’ve been putting mud on it, sand, rain, snow, now I’m traveling in Southeast Asia I don’t baby my cameras at all, I brought that one to the sea in the Philippines, however I’m looking to upgrade for a cinema camera I’m getting into personal projects documentaries, but all the cameras are exceptional with it’s own limitations getting hard to get one

    Yeah I can tell you’ve had more experience with the Sony because the BlackMagic images were not only blurry but also underexposed. The sensor is comparable to ARRI. I’ve matched these in Post many times after sets and the image for the price is just ridiculous. Also the Blackmagic sensor has more than 13 stops - they just love to under claim this. I don’t know why. We did a test and it was almost 15 stops but Marketing I suppose. Nevertheless great video but you did not do BlackMagic justice at all.

    By the end of this year, the FX6 will be able to record in BRAW with the 12G monitor. So, basically, you’ll have a Pyxis camera… but with internal ND filters! 🥳👌🏻

    Any modern cinema camera can do well in your lighting condition. But the fx6 limitations starts to be seen in a contrast lighting in gradients. Especial when one color switches to an opposite one like red to blue. These borders look harsh on fx6 due to codec and bit depth limitations. After couple of project shot on fx6 and fx3 I gave up using these entry level Sony line. Any camera shooting raw or 4444 xq is my choice now. By the way now you can shoot braw on fx6 which turned out to be much noisier on the same isos than BMPCC or Pyxis.
