The cache recording is something I never knew! You are literally the only person I’ve heard talk about this and I’ve seen like 20 videos on it now at least. Absolutely insane that no one is talking about this
@austinwestbro yes that’s why I made this video. Everyone just says “Buy the fx3, it’s cheaper” and that’s such bad advice because spending a bit more and getting triple the value is the best deal. The Fx9 and some red cameras have cache recording and the fact that the Sony Fx6 has it up to 31 seconds is huge. And also saves my shoots all the time and streamlines my editing flow as everything is a banger.
Great video! Reasons why I still keep my FX3: - I use a Gimbal a lot and it handles the FX3 way better - The FX3 can be squeezed in anywhere (behind my computer monitor for example) - I'm traveling a lot by train to shoots, so the smaller size matters a lot for me Love the FX6 a lot tho, used it for a documentary and the ND-Filter was insanely handy and working with it together with a view finder made it super comfortable to use.
@madoxbeatbox yes I agree. The fx3 is a great camera. Has its wins for sure over the Fx6. For me personally the ND’s and cache recording are things that I can’t live without. Next time you film a Doc with the Fx6 try cache recording. Game changer.
I agreed with all of your takes on the two. Great video. I own the FX6 and rent the FX3 often. After shooting with both a ton over the past few years, as well as a ton of FX9, I think any FX6 or FX9 owner should own an FX3 also. As a B or C camera, it's great and as a gimbal camera it can''t be beat. I have just about paid off my FX6 with day rates over the past three months and am saving to get an FX3. They are the perfect pair, best of both worlds.
@@theyrecord I've shot quite a bit with the A7 SIII too as when rental houses are sold out of FX3s, that's what they give us. It's a solid video camera but being in the desert called California where we end up shooting in some serious Summer heat on some shoots, I like having the fan in the FX3, it's a bit of an overheating security blanket. But A7 SIII is a great cam.
@jumperthetoastyapple thanks for the kind comment. My goal, no matter what happens to this channel is to always try and reply to everyone. I think it’s the least I can do, return the kindness.
Besides ND and cache recording, I don't miss anything else you mentioned in this video. I believe these two features are desirable for everyone, while the others are more debatable. I'm not saying they aren't valid, but they cater to more specific needs.
@felipemiranda6382 I think variable ND, auto ND and cache recording (for my personal needs) is well worth the extra money. But that’s me, and these are my opinions, and it’s great when people see things differently. I really respect your comment 🙏🏻 and for some the FX3 is the better deal and that’s ok.
I own both the FX3 and FX6, I use the FX3 on a gimbal and the FX6 for tripod interviews and hand held (with stabilised lenses) work. They are really quite different cameras. The only downside of the FX6 is the lack of 10bit long GOP 4K.
Wow what a great set up. That sounds perfect. One thing that you should try with your FX6 for handheld work is a “cinesaddle” just search ‘Cinesaddle Review’. I use one all the time and don’t need stabilized lenses.
Cache recording is worth every penny. The R5 II just got this, and after MANY years of having this with PlayStations, I’m blown away by why almost no cameras have this feature???? Even the Nintendo Switch is always recording the last 30 seconds, why don’t all cameras have this option????
@realworldreview yes! Cache recording has been a game changer for me. I didn’t know the canon r5 m2 got it as well. Now it sounds appealing lol. Really appreciate the time and comment. Thank you.
A lot of bigger professional cameras have the option, although not under "cache recording". Canon Cinema EOS cameras have it under pre-recording, and I think Panasonic Varicam cameras had it under pre-recording as well. RED, ARRI and Phantom cameras do have as well, but under different names. I agree that is a game changer and a it should be more common, but I do think the buffering on smaller cameras may be the problem.
@brunomassao I heard the canon r5 mark 2 has cache recording from someone in these comments. Haven’t fact checked that but if correct, is a great feature in a smaller body.
Solid points, indeed. Can't argue with these points. But reasons to buy the FX3 instead: Weather-sealed (extremely important for outdoor/wildlife filmmaking and general videography, IBIS, better codec flexibility as FX6 has a quirk where you film only in 8bit in some codecs, better on the gimbal, and has 3.5mm input jack so it's not 100% reliant on the handle like the FX6. I love the FX6 myself and might get the newer one when it comes. The internal ND is just a killer feature, and it looks more professional for non-tech savvy clients.
@@theyrecord They compliment each other imo. Sony is smart with making many great cameras with different pricetags and advantages. For example, FX30 is a killer B-cam that would compliment the main FF camera, whether it's FX6 or FX3, with an extremely tiny hit in dynamic range and IQ.
We just got a Burano at my day job and it's my first experience with auto-variable-ND - it really is a total game changer. It is one of those non-essentials that I miss dearly on my personal cameras at home.
@avedisdrummer09 yea I used it once, and it was hard to live without it after as well. It makes life easy when it comes to run and fun filmmaking for me at least.
Agree on all points but that older Sony color science is rough. Those skin tones are a lot of work to fix in post. Newer Sony cameras have done a great job fixing this so lets hope to replacement to the FX6 has the updated look.
İ have fx3 since 2 years. İ was planing to buy fx6 but i couldnt decide is it better or not. Now for sure its better but too late. i will wait fx7 or fx3 ii. Thank you so much for video and your time 🤟🏻
@quanzki so I will tell you this. From filming sports without the Fx6 I would have to film an entire hockey game and in the edit find the great moments. Now with the Fx6 and cache recording I film the entire game without hitting the record button and only hit record when something incredible happens having the previous 31 seconds recorded to the card. Game changer. Keeps the files to a minimum, in post everything is a banger and I can record in the highest of qualities. That’s to me, is worth every penny and no single sports videographer talks about it. I have a video coming on why the Fx6 is the number 1 camera for sports. But I will say this, if you get the fx3. You’ll love it. It’s great. I just think the extra money on the Fx6 brings way more value.
Wow. I want to go out and buy the FX6 right now based on this video. I currently run with the FX30, which is a great camera as well. Thanks for this in-depth commentary.
@allthingsfilm1 Hey the fx30 is a great camera. I believe a 6k sensor downsampled to 4K. Great picture. Whenever you get your next camera, you’ll have a great B camera in the fx30. I myself think about picking one up all the time.
@@theyrecord The FX30 is the first camera I've ever thought about keeping even if I look at other cameras and brands. It punches way above it's price point.
@allthingsfilm1 I totally agree. Def punches way above its weight class.

For me personally, the biggest downside of fx6 is lack of IBIS, which especially when using cine lenses, that don´t have stabilization makes it much harder to do nice handheld shots, but from practical side of thing, i like FX6 because of capability of higher data rate thus higher video quality.
Very good point. I’ve never really paid attention to to the ibis, but I usually use a cinesaddle or some form of it. And get smooth shots all the time.
I have both. I shoot corporate video. I use the FX-6 as an A Cam for my tripod work and still subjects. I use my FX-3 as a B Cam (a second angle) or for moving subjects and gimbal work to shoot B-Roll shots. It works out beautifully having both cameras. If I had to run around a park shooting content I’d use my FX-3 because the ibis is more important to me than the variable internal ND whereas if I needed to shoot in an office all day or corporate event off of a tripod The FX-6 is my workhorse and go to camera.
@95ldunc sounds like a great setup! Awesome. For more stable footage. RUclips search “cinesaddle’ review. I use one all the time for the most stable handheld footage with the fx6.
@nightdonutstudio I think you’re right. There’s 2 I left off because 14 reasons just seems like a lot lol. The noise setting and the resale value. The FX6 will hold up better for resale value over time.
@jonathanpalfrey yes! And I believe 11, 21, 32 second modes. I use it at 31 seconds, and have it mapped to a button on the body to toggle it on and off for things like interviews. That and the Auto ND feature has been a game changer and alone worth every extra penny.
@-441- yes! And the best part is there’s three setting I believe. 11, 21 and 31 seconds and you can map it to a button and toggle it on and off. Game changer for me personally.

I wish brands could find a way to add internal ND filters in a compact body such as the FX3, that would be my dream.
@goodrebeledits hey the title is from my sales background. In short, the cheaper option isn’t in the price, it’s in the value you get for every dollar spent. And when I had a chance to buy a fx3 or spend more and get a Fx6 I wanted to know what more I get for the money. And it turns out it was a lot. For what I got, to me it was def the cheaper option because I got way more camera. Hope that makes sense. It does in my crazy head at least lol. Thank you for the time and view. Means a lot.
Super good comparison. Honestly to kit out a FX3 to compete with a FX6, it's gonna be about the same cost. Maybe one day I'll upgrade, but the one thing that's nice about the FX3 that I'm loving is how small/big it can be. I can travel with minimal space, or kit it out to film an all day event.
@vlogcity I will say this. You have a great camera. The fx3 is great and very versatile that’s for sure. Enjoy it. Film as much as possible with it. The world deserves to hear the stories you tell 💪🏻
@dade-xo9xt well I’d imagine you can kit it out through the roof, but that’s not how I use it. I have it bare bones and bought some top rails off fb marketplace for $200. Just a lens and a mic and I’m good to good.
@ironmerchant depends on where you are maybe, but Sony had a deal for student when you save 10 percent. Here in Canada when I bought my camera from a major store I was able to save the 10percent as a student. Maybe look into that in your area. Asks. Number of stores around you. But you specifically have to ask for the “Sony Student discount 10%”. Hope that works and helps.
@@theyrecord man 10% would be massive on that camera! Unfortunately, I’m way past a student. i’m a 20 year heavy equipment mechanic with a crappy RUclips channel that just likes to play with cameras. I do have a really great local shop that occasionally gets one in used. Hopefully have me one by the end of the year. Would love to make some money at this one day!
@ironmerchant talk to the bigger and smaller stores around you. You’d be surprised at what someone might do for you to get the sale. I built a great relationship with one of the stores around me and now they always give me preferred pricing. Nothing crazy, around 10 percent off most purchases. Also, the one downside of my fx6 is it’s a pain to do personal content with, outside the studio. Doing vlogs, personal content on trips. It’s too big to carry around while doing every day stuff.
@@theyrecord hate to keep wearing you out in the comments but yes I agree about the self filming part wouldn’t be great but in my current collection I have the A7iv the fx30 and the little zv1ii that zv1 has built in ND filters and I freaking love that. I use it for most of my stuff. It’s such a great little camera especially for what it does. I like it because I can literally put it in my pocket but get cinema style video from it. Pocket cinema camera.
@ironmerchant I think the a74 is great. Love the down sampled sensor from either 7 or 6k to 4K. Great footage. The zv1 mark 2 with build in ND’s, might have to look that up. Sounds great.
The cinema line is good for budget consumers. The FX6 is sent out in film schools. They aren’t as robust as even an F55. I’m not saying they are bad, but you can’t even get 16 bit linear RAW with them. Nor the OCN codec like you can with the F55.
@@theyrecord yes, 16 bit linear RAW in 4K. Mine has the add on board for all the prores codecs as well, internal. It’s does 600mbps XAVC. The AXS-R7 costs more than an FX3 or 6.
@brycekoebel yea and the best part is there’s three settings. 11, 21 and 31 seconds I believe. It has streamlines my filming and editing. Unreal. Especially for sports, documentary and event coverage.
@charliecheize7068 thank you. Such a kind thing to say. Sports I mostly shoot with a 70-200 G master Mark 2. And outside that I use prime lenses. 28mm or a 50mm Sony (non master lenses). I believe they are the Sony FE line or something along those lines.
@edengate1 thanks for the view and comment. To get the most out of this camera, you’d have to get a Ninja V external recorder. I do that and film in ProRes HQ and the quality is incredible. When I’m lazy I use the highest codec in the camera, it’s still good. RUclips search fx3 or fx6 and Atomos ninja v recorder. Should find some good stuff.
Everything you've listed I agree with, but I have to disagree that it's cheaper. The cost of support gear goes up quite a lot. If you're running a gimbal for any amount of time, you'll want a EasyRig with a Serene arm. Those cost a pretty penny. Mounting and grip becomes a bit more of a hassle. It's absolutely worth it, but the upfront investment is a fair bit higher
@mandaramaster I think it’s ok to disagree. I’ve never needed an easy rig, I use a cinesaddle or go handheld. I haven’t seen any more costs on my side but everyone’s needs and wants are different. I think any way you cut it. It’s still the better deal as it future proofs you and cache recording has been a game changer along with Auto ND for me personally. But these are my humble opinions. And it’s great that some disagree. That’s where we find the truth. In the middle.
I want back thru some of your videos that you have posted (I enjoyed watching them) and noticed you went from a Sony FX3 to a Canon C70. Are you still using a C70? If you are, how does the FX6 stack. up against the C70? Thanks again for making such great videos.
@larryeber thank you for the kind comment. Really made my day. To be honest, the Fx6 kicked the c70’s but in almost every single area. Better NDs. Better ergonomics. Full XLRs. Better frame rates. Cache recording on the fx6 is king. But the c70 has 2 areas it does really well. The dual gain output sensor is great paired with a speed booster and the C70 can do internal 12 bit colour raw. I left Sony for the c70 because of those 2 things. I really wanted to film everything in 12 bit raw and with Sony you can only do that trough a external recorder and in ProRes Raw, but DaVinci doesn’t play well with ProRes Raw and converting all the files was too long of a workflow so I got the c70. C70 does those 2 things really well. I don’t have the c70 anymore because I swapped it for the Ronin 4D that does 12bit ProRes 4444 in 6k. But I have pre ordered the c80 that looks great. Overall Sony’s have been the most reliable cameras I’ve ever had and they are great for any business. I’ve made the most money using Sony cameras for their reliability. I still have 2 Sony A7 iv’s as well. For sticks, interviews and podcasts.
Very useful practical information presented in a timely manner. Thanks man. I just like the idea that all the settings you want to change are right there on the side with real buttons. I'm no pro, but in the past I've done product shoots with a Canon camcorder and although it looked fine, it sure was a pain in the ass to change settings with the little touchscreen. That cache recording thing sounds cool too.
@spamsponge the best camera to use is the one you have access to, so keep filming :) For me personally, the best feature by far that has changed the game for me is “Cache” recording. It has made my edits and shoots so easy.
Something seems off because i've never heard a Shure Dynamic mic capture so much echo. Sounds like the audio was recorded with an iphone, not the expensive mic you're holding??
i am really appreciate your point of view unique and valuable i am agree with u in 100% but there only one major flaw / fckng 3.5jack for audio do u have any solution for that ? tnx
@ximepavcaptured hey thanks for the nice comment. Yes there’s an easy fix. Rose makes a great XLR to 3.5mm jack. Works great. Check out the video. m.ruclips.net/video/AOmZ6H4aP7U/видео.html&pp=ygURUm9kZSB4bHIgdG8gMy41bW0%3D
@corneliuganea1 for the extra money you pay for the fx6 I listed 12 things you get for it, making it the better buy in terms of value. But this is my opinion. To me, for the extra money and all the extras, it’s the better buy. But again, personal opinion.
@joshnachoz hey! Thanks for the interest. To be honest I have 3 levels of grades. Low, mid and high (price wise). For low price gigs I shoot with a rec 709 out backed into the footage. For mid priced jobs I’ll shoot’s with rec 709 baked into the footage and do colour correction and balancing, and tweaks. And for high paying jobs I have a great colorlist I use for all those jobs.
@patricko2650 thanks for the kind comment. I’m gonna do a number of videos per month, every month that will help videographers with sales and making more money. You will love those 🙏🏻
@burritosarebetterthantacos hey I’ve done all that and there’s a lot of freedom for me in doing non of that. Also the NDs I believe are some of the best in the industry on the Fx6. I also think for me and my needs, auto ND and cache recording are hard to beat. I’d hate life without them.
@michaelangelo1887 I think if that’s the case for you that’s fine. We all have different needs. For me personally, I never really liked the audio out of a 3.5mm jack. I find it very tin like. But it’s an easy fix, rode makes a 3.5mm jack to XLR and it’s like $25 bucks.
@austinwestbro I’m putting together a video on why the FX6 is the best camera for sports (nobody ever says that but I believe it is) but I’ll give you a bit of a spoiler. So when I filmed hockey games before the Fx6. I would film everything hoping a highlight hits and the editing downloads and uploads and editing process was a nightmare. Now, thanks to the Fx6 I use cache recording of 31 seconds. I film everything as if I’m recording but I’m not, and when a highlight happens I hit record and have the previous 31 seconds. How cool is that! And the editing is so easy as everything is a banger. There’s a lot more to it for sports, but that’s the main one for hockey.
I’ve had issues with bad noise and artifacts with two seperate fx6 , I find the auto nd at some point uses internal electronic exposure and can ruin the take. However the fx6 is my favorite camera out there
@mrprince19968 I think if you’re only doing music videos and nothing else, and you don’t want to future proof yourself with the Fx6 the A7s iii is a great camera. I like it better than the Fx3. It’s cheaper. Has a view finder. And the same picture quality as the fx3 and fx6. Just my humble opinion. I have one and love it.
Hi! I own twi FX3 and one A7iv for my client job (corporate) As a camera operator in big tv production it s always rent caméras (such as fx9 or fx6). I know perfectly those cameras. Did you know that you can t assign th super 35 mode on a button on the fx6? you can on fx3! Some special tricks on fx3 make it easier on special shootings. But when you run and gun it s better to habe the eye into the real viewfinder of the fx6 . If sony makes a nd filter on a camera like fx3 it s the end of the game! Fx3 ownet will finally have the shutter angle in septembre yet! See ya
@seblx the fx3, a7s3 and a74 are all great cameras. But, they don’t have internal ND, auto ND, cache recording and a better form factor for handheld shooting and for me personally, all of that is priceless and well worth the extra money. But that’s my personal opinion. I do believe you get a lot more camera with the fx6 and it’s well worth it. Also it’s ok to disagree. This is just my humble opinion.
@@theyrecord After good stabilization for so many years it is hard to go back, altough it has such a great image output. I hope the fx6 mark 2 fixes this
@@theyrecord oops sorry. I mean would the quality of the image coming out of the camera or the ability to grade it better mean lower time or expenditure costs in owning the camera? Or they both are the same quality. Hence it’s only the physical attributes make it cheaper to own an FX6? :-)
@dynamiclearning4u the image quality is nearly the same as it’s the same sensor but getting the image is a lot easier with the fx6. For example. I use to film an entire hockey game, import 3 hours of footage. And look for the highlights with my fx3. Now with the fx6 and cache recording I just hit the record button every time a highlight happens and have the previous 31 seconds. My edits are less than a hour. And I save hours and hours per game and the edits I find are better because I’m not as stressed.
I see these and it's honestly such a hard decision still. Probably best to just have both and use whichever one fits the different scenarios best. I'll probably still get the 3 mainly for size reasons with lots of traveling and also social content from time to time
You are not using VN in the shots that you show in this video. All of those are in-door sports. The FX3 also has the base 12,800 ISO which come into play with that in-door hockey action. The FX3 also has better AF and IBIS which is amazing. So I can get 30% more shots compared to what you get with the FX6 so you aren't saving money at all because you can't get the shots that I can get with the FX3. You also can't argue with this point.
@contentm3893 I think it’s ok to disagree. You have your opinion and I have mine. All the shots you see are with Auto ND (for run and gun it’s incredible) and cache recording. Meaning I don’t have to play with settings and I don’t have to record every min of the game and look for highlights in post. I simply hit a record button if something great happens and have the previous 30 seconds. For me personally, that is the better value. Might not be for you, and that’s ok.
@phillgraaf Cache recording is also in the Fx9 I believe. It is a game changer. It has 3 modes. 11 seconds, 21 seconds and 31 seconds I believe. I have it set to 31 seconds, mapped to a button on the body. So I turn it on and off quick. It’s always on unless I’m doing an interview or acting out shots. It’s a game changer. Don’t know many other cameras that have it.
@philgraaf I love my ronin 4D. The one feature I wish it had, that’s so basic is the ability to put the rule of thirds grid on the monitor for shot framing. Every single camera has that accept the 4D. Even the osmo pocket has it. And after that, def cache recording 💪🏻
@camerachris yes but for me, IBIS or killer ND’s, auto ND’s, cache recording, all these things are far better than IBIS and I use a cinesaddle and get the smoothest footage on the planet thanks to that. Also replaces tripods and monopods. But that’s me and my needs. Your needs can be different.
Auto ND? Don’t need it - I shoot in studio and control all the lighting (and I have a set of Nisi on the rare occasions where I need ‘em) Cache? Nope - shoot off scripts so my recording work is trimmed as I write and/or rehearse - so no shoot and hope! Form factor? Once rigged up my FX3 only a Sony expert could tell what’s “inside” and IF anyone cares to ask “The camera they shot “The Creator” on and the Clients won’t care (and those who might… we’ll, no reason to compete with FX6ers) Top Handle ? Rarely shoot handheld but - when I do - it’s good to have my onboard mic Battery? Shoot with V-Mount Monitor? I have a Ninja for each FX3 (and I can shoot ProRes RAW in a pinch IF the Client wants that!) Sony Slog3 and Cineton are good enough for me! Finally, the FX6 probable has more ‘punch’ of a sensor but I haven’t seen any appreciable difference shooting 4K 10 bit for my target output. FX3 a camera so nice I purchased it twice! I stand corrected: the FX3 has the “punchier” sensor while FX6 is “smoother” - even though they are the same sensor (size) - but I want “punchier” so another win for me! 😉
@thegeodaddy hey it’s not a camera for everyone, it just packs more features for the price than the fx3. But if you don’t need those features, the Fx3 is a great camera. PS they have the same sensor. The a7s iii, fx3 and fx6 all have the same sensor and internal guts. The fx6 is the only one that lets you control the digital noise in the camera. I believe there’s 3 settings. Something like none, mid and high but I could be wrong. 2 levels at least for sure.
@realpicturestudio I think it’s best to watch a @geraldundone video for something like that just to be sure. I know there’s a lot more you can do with the camera using a Atomos Ninja V recorder outside of the in body solutions. For me, I always shoot in the highest files a camera gives me.
Good conclusions, but this only works if you have much more resources to invest and live in the United States, which is impossible in developing countries because the cost is too much expensive. I prefer to continue with my BMPCC 6K FF, invest in lights and give too much more quality with less resources.
@@theyrecord yeah man, I think all of us love expensive gear, but in the end, all is about to make money with right tools for your particular type of business.
@joelmiller77 thanks for the comment. I think blackmagics is great. I’ve had them my whole life. I have the OG, 4K, 6k, 6k pro and Ursa mini pro. Even has the 6k g2 once. Great picture. I think the picture quality is better on the blackmagics for sure if you know what you’re doing. But it’s easier to film sports with my Fx6. Also easier to film documentaries. But as far as better I think it depends on the persons needs.
@joATTech totally agreee. Cache recording is a game changer. For me personally, it has saved me so much time during a shoot and in post. Incredible. Cache recording is also in the FX9 I believe as well.
@@theyrecord Not sure I would buy FX6 mk2. But when it's there original FX6 should be discounted :). I already see some used ones in my country been sold lately, before no one was selling them :D. I guess people preparing for mark 2.
@jamirmuzik7942 hey these cameras spec wise all came out of the A7s3 (both the FX3 and FX6) same sensor but that’s what makes the fx6 the better deal. You get more value for the money you spend.
@tonellacam I’ve rigged out every single camera I’ve ever hard, but there’s a lot of freedom in not having to rig anything out. For the record, a rigged out Fx3 is a great camera. But for me personally, internal NDs that are AUTO and work all on their own along with cache recording for up to 31 seconds and having the ability to take away the automatic digital noise the fx3 creates, all of that is worth a pretty penny and I still think the Fx6 is the better deal for my needs.
@@theyrecord oh for sure I was just taking the piss , the fx6 is great , I prefer having a fx3 and fx30 combo , I got this instead of getting an fx6 , I wanted 2 cameras , just where I’m at , I just was replying to the comment you made about the fx6 looking more professional and bigger or whatever , trust me I walk up with my rigged out fx3 and people are like whoa that’s a crazy setup , I do like that I can completely strip it down to be more incognito and be able to chuck it on a gimbal , but if I could afford to have an fx6 too I would definitely buy it also and use the 3 cameras for projects accordingly
@tonellacam I think it’s great you got the fx3 and fx30 combo. It sounds like you know exactly what your needs are and you being in a great place. Well done sir 🙏🏻
I am super confused. You did a video saying you are going to Canon and a C70. Did I miss a video on why you stayed on Sony. Also you dogged the FX6 in your own commenting, then now are praising it. What happened here?
@imagineAS Hey when I did a video saying “I’m leaving Sony for canon” 6 month ago and you watched it, you’d know I left for one reason and one reason only, I wanted 12 bit colour and that’s still true today. My A camera is actually the Ronin 4D and I film in 12 bit colour. Also in the video I never bashed Sony. I said only great things about my Sony cameras and switched because of 12 bit colour only. This video here isn’t me praising the Fx6 (although it’s a great camera). It’s simply stating it’s cheaper than the fx3 because of all the extra value you get for the extra money. I still have a Fx6 because of how great the camera is and shoot sports on it all the time because of the cache recording.
Sorry man but you only mentioned only 2 things that were costs on here nd filters and batteries im sorry that doesnt make the fx 6 cheaper i can literally get 1-10 stop vnd filters for $100 and a v mount battery for $160 that will last me all day. The rest of your video just talked about personal preferences. Im glad you’re able to justify your purchase but the things you mentioned dont make it cheaper it just makes it a good choice for you.
@visionstudiomy so I listed 12 things but could have easily gone with 15 or more but than nobody would watch the video. I also left out the resale value of the camera being better long term. And I can go on and on. Clearly a much cheaper option than the fx3 when you factor in the massive value you get for the extra money.
Depends on what you’re shooting of course. In some settings less is more. But some jobs you can’t get at all without an FX6 or larger, and the other part is unspoken by clients. Yet buttons and switches are like medals on a uniform, they convey a feeling of expertise, competence, and experience.
@@waveland That's why it's important to know who you are and what you're after. I don't go after jobs where the client is focused on gear and decides up front what tools are required. My client relationships are such that I have the autonomy to decide what the end result will require technically. As long as I give them a high quality product that tells the story well, that's all they care about.
@Awardtour93 so that’s why in my video I said nobody ever complained, although I have heard people that pay a lot complained to a number of people I know about better cameras for the job. But just because someone complains doesn’t mean they are super impressed either. I shot a lot of real estate. And it’s common to use smaller cameras. When I started to show up with a bigger camera real estate agents would ask questions and smile a lot while using a bigger camera. Just a small example.
@waveland I totally agree. It really does depend on what you’re shooting and how much you’re charging. At the rate I charge today people expect a lot more.
@@theyrecord Right. And just because they complained about cameras doesn't mean the camera was the issue. It could have been poor lighting, lenses, or overall execution. However I do understand that larger cameras create conversation. I've had a corporate client say "that's a big camera" to me where the camera was actually small. I just had a sigma 70-200 lens on it.
How do you tell fx 6 is cheaper, ots for expensive than fx3, price comparisons - fx3 = 3lakhs body , 2within 4.5lakhs its has complete setup but fx6 = body price 6lakh then lens others costs
@lonelyspeckarp so I believe it’s cheaper because you get so much more for the extra money. And I’ve had both cameras. All they needed was a lens and mic and you go shoot. For me, cache recording is a game changer and has helped me film better and edit faster. At a project a day it has saved me countless time. But it’s my personal opinion. And it’s ok to disagree.
@thegigabytesphotographyvid3158 with Sonys Catalyst Browse, I’ve never had shaky footage but these days I don’t need Catalyst Browse as I use a cone saddle and get incredible footage all the time. I’ve never had an issue but that’s me and my experience. I do understand that it’s different for everyone. But Ibis aside, I’d rather have all the above mentioned and no ibis over having ibis and missing out on the rest. But again, that’s a preference of mine and I do understand that it would be different for others.
@sheuncreatives1334 if you end up with the A7iv it’s a great camera. We all start somewhere. To be honest, I started with a GoPro and MacBook Air, no money and had just lost a business. Only up from here 💪🏻
@@theyrecord I am audio as much as a video guy and it’s hurts my head. Singing it makes sense as a good singer will learn mic technique to control volume. But holding mics is a bad habit on RUclips. The rest is great.
@neilrocks25 I really appreciate the time and comment. Thank you. If I keep doing it, don’t be made. I don’t know what the future holds. I plan on using the mic everywhere and most places won’t have stands. But for the record I agree with you. I’ll admit I’m on the bad side of form but if it helps me put out more content I might roll with it.
@carimannola1447 congrats on buying a camera. I hope you film with it as much as possible. When I started. I only had a GoPro. So you’re doing better than when I started already 🙏🏻
@johannvantassel4604 it’s cheaper because you pay more, and get way more. But this applies if you want to do this full time as a business. If you want photos and social media content I do think the a7iv is great.
Man, can you ditch the staccato delivery and talk to your audience like you would talk to a client! While I'm here you don't n have to make a reference to the 'Sony Fx... every time! It's the 6, or the 3
@@theyrecord I was thinking that for $4K - $5K more the FX9 would be a lot more value, but then I looked into how to record ProRes RAW on the FX9 vs. the FX6 and the FX6 is WAY cheaper, smaller and lighter to acquire RAW footage. So, yeah I think you’re right. I’m just surprised that I only see FX9s, Buranos, and FX3s out there, and never an FX6. But I think I’d rather have an FX6 too now.
@andrewlutes2048 yea fx6 is a great bang for the buck. Also, I was able to buy my fx6 for $6500 dollars Canadian brand new thanks to a sale I took advantage of.
@precision4life756 I’m back baby! Kidding. I one hundred percent left Sony for canons 12 bit colour raw as my A camera. And I left canons 12 bit colour for DJI Ronin 4D 12 bit colour workflow. Love it. My A camera as of now and I’ve never been happier. I kept my Fx6 for sports due to cache recording. And this video is more of a fx3 vs Fx6 value money wise battle that I think the Fx6 cleans up in. It’s the much better value per dollar spent. And a great camera. And Sony cameras were always great. Just don’t have a 12 bit workflow with DaVinci.
@precision4life756 yea I only use DaVinci as its easiest for colour grading. I think for sports, thanks to the cache recording the Fx6 is really hard to beat. And I do believe Sony cameras are great. Just a shame it has to have such a hard 12bit workflow. I was even excited about the Sony Burano with 16 bit colour but heard it has bad rolling shutter and at that price tag makes it a bad buy for me.
@rivaldocamara for me personally, IBIS or all of the above, I’m picking all of the above but that’s me and my needs. I also use a cinesaddle for all stable footage and never use a tripod. If IBIS is important to you. Fx6 is not your camera and whatever you have is great.
Why am I watching this, I have no money
@mc_horror thanks for taking the time to watch. I really do appreciate it.
😂😂
@danielolaniyi9887 I thought the comment was great too
Lmao
@estudiohelios def a great comment, I laughed too.
For weddings this is a game changer
@jesticebrown yes! Also for sports, documentaries it’s just such a great deal. The cache recording up to 31 seconds really puts it in another level.
Another term use to “cache recordingl is also called “Pre-recording”.
@jmsdfilms thank you. Really great to know 🙏🏻
Good info. New drinking game: take a drink each time this nice man says "At the end of the day."
@creaturefeatures3 at the end of the day, it’s my fav saying 💪🏻
I am hammered.
@followthejohn great game 💪🏻
Great video! Reasons why I still keep my FX3:
- I use a Gimbal a lot and it handles the FX3 way better
- The FX3 can be squeezed in anywhere (behind my computer monitor for example)
- I'm traveling a lot by train to shoots, so the smaller size matters a lot for me
Love the FX6 a lot tho, used it for a documentary and the ND-Filter was insanely handy and working with it together with a view finder made it super comfortable to use.
@madoxbeatbox yes I agree. The fx3 is a great camera. Has its wins for sure over the Fx6. For me personally the ND’s and cache recording are things that I can’t live without.
Next time you film a Doc with the Fx6 try cache recording. Game changer.
@@theyrecord damn I didn‘t know the FX6 can do that. 😅 I probably wouldn‘t trust it and just use it as a backup function.
@madoxbeatbox really appreciate the time and view. I hope you have a great day 💪🏻
@@theyrecord thanks bro! Wish you a great day aswell!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I agreed with all of your takes on the two. Great video.
I own the FX6 and rent the FX3 often. After shooting with both a ton over the past few years, as well as a ton of FX9, I think any FX6 or FX9 owner should own an FX3 also. As a B or C camera, it's great and as a gimbal camera it can''t be beat. I have just about paid off my FX6 with day rates over the past three months and am saving to get an FX3. They are the perfect pair, best of both worlds.
@danbrockettDOP thanks for the kind words and the advice. I was thinking of getting a used Sony a7s iii and now prob will.
@danbrockettDOP that’s another great point. The fan is well worth the couple of extra bucks.
I like how this guy responds to every comment.
@Bo_Hazem I will always agree with someone who says the Fx3 is a great camera. It 100 percent is.
@bo_hazem yes, I also believe the fx30 makes a great B and C cam for almost any setup. Have contemplated picking one up many times.
@phoenixprjct I’m looking forward to the fx6 mark 2 for sure 💪🏻
İ have fx3 since 2 years. İ was planing to buy fx6 but i couldnt decide is it better or not. Now for sure its better but too late. i will wait fx7 or fx3 ii. Thank you so much for video and your time 🤟🏻
Thank you for the great comment. The good news is you still have a great camera. Enjoy using it. I had one and loved it.
Man after wanting one more review to pull the trigger on the FX3, I get recommended this! As a sports videographer, your reasoning made me reconsider!
I find the IBIS on the FX3 to be a bit jarring or it shifts suddenly. A stabilised lens provides a more natural stabilised image than IBIS.
I have never used the IBIS in the fx3 but I always use a cinesaddle. Incredible for stabilizing your footage. Doing a video on it.
Fx3 has the same bitrate options in all I but fx3 wins with the h.265 codec option as well
I think the fx3 is a great camera. We all agree that’s it’s great and def has its pluses for sure.
I think your totally fair. I own both an FX6 and an FX3 and you just have to pick up the right tool for the job.
@davidmonostori thanks for the great comment. Really appreciate your time 🙏🏻
I have both.
I think the noise reduction setting is a big plus over fx3.
@nightdonutstudio I think you’re right. There’s 2 I left off because 14 reasons just seems like a lot lol. The noise setting and the resale value. The FX6 will hold up better for resale value over time.
I didn't realise the FX6 had cache/pre recording! Thats great it does, something I miss on the FX3.
@jonathanpalfrey yes! And I believe 11, 21, 32 second modes. I use it at 31 seconds, and have it mapped to a button on the body to toggle it on and off for things like interviews. That and the Auto ND feature has been a game changer and alone worth every extra penny.
Cache Recording??! That is an EXCELLENT feature.
@-441- yes! And the best part is there’s three setting I believe. 11, 21 and 31 seconds and you can map it to a button and toggle it on and off. Game changer for me personally.
I wish brands could find a way to add internal ND filters in a compact body such as the FX3, that would be my dream.
Well they took the incredible NDs out of the fx9, put them in a smaller fx6 body, so I see it possible one day, hopefully.
Rumor has it the Lumix S1h Mark ii might have them!
@loiccardenas3980 that would be awesome.
kinda love/ hate the facts that you successfully convinced me that 6k is cheaper than 3k.
@drmanhat4483 haha thank you! Nicest comment to date. Really grateful for your view and time.
Great stuff my man. The title is misleading, but the content is exactly what I needed 😂
@@theyrecord yes it totally does and I’ll be back for more 👍🏼👍🏼
@goodrebeledits I’m so grateful. Thank you 🙏🏻
Super good comparison.
And how much do you think it would cost to kit out a FX6? The price would be considerably higher.
@dade-xo9xt well I’d imagine you can kit it out through the roof, but that’s not how I use it. I have it bare bones and bought some top rails off fb marketplace for $200. Just a lens and a mic and I’m good to good.
FX6 is cheaper, especially since for some reason everyone "rigs out" their FX3 like they're on some sort of a Hollywood movie set.
@sixofsix yup I totally think the fx6 is the best value out of the two as well 🙏🏻
I’ve been saving for a FX6. When I get close enough I’ll trade my A7iv and fx30 in on one. Hope to have one soon
@kamikaze the f55 does 16 bit raw in 4K? Does it do any other codecs outside of the raw in 12 or 16 bit?
@@theyrecord yes, 16 bit linear RAW in 4K. Mine has the add on board for all the prores codecs as well, internal. It’s does 600mbps XAVC. The AXS-R7 costs more than an FX3 or 6.
@kamikaze1213 that’s awesome. Thanks for the info.
This video should be RETITLED to : “ At the end of the day … “ 😎🤦🏻♂️😂
@johnjordache maybe the channel title?
Damn the Cache recording would have saved me SO MUCH time haha
@brycekoebel yea and the best part is there’s three settings. 11, 21 and 31 seconds I believe. It has streamlines my filming and editing. Unreal. Especially for sports, documentary and event coverage.
Bro what lens to you have on that fx6??? This footage is crispy!
@charliecheize7068 thank you. Such a kind thing to say. Sports I mostly shoot with a 70-200 G master Mark 2. And outside that I use prime lenses. 28mm or a 50mm Sony (non master lenses). I believe they are the Sony FE line or something along those lines.
Please bring more videos about highest quality, coloring and dynamic range from this one.
I'm beyond impressed that you managed to not get mixed up saying fx6 vs fx3 throughout this entire video - well done! 👏
@malcomshootseverything thanks for the view. Means a lot and the kind words 🙏🏻
But really I really dont think anyone whould would be mixing up the fx6 and fx3 should make a video like this
@jammaschan thanks for the comment and taking the time to watch. I really appreciate it.
@@jammaschan I meant just mixing up the words/names not the cameras themselves. It's like saying she sells sea shells by the sea shore after a while!

This is so cool eND + cache, never heard of this, I with they‘d fit it into the smaller form factor of the FX3
@jona yea for me auto ND, electronic ND and cache recording is a game changer.
I've never really given attention to the FX6, but holy schmeckels you've definitely changed that for me for ever now..!
@maximilian-willert hey thanks for the kind comment. Really appreciate that. Great value.
Excellent video and case for the fx6 over fx3, cheers! Subscribed!
@kalkydra very grateful. Thank you 🙏🏻

@mikusausters thank you. Really appreciate the comment and view.
Great video. Is it just me, or the reason why is cheaper was not explained?
@corneliuganea1 for the extra money you pay for the fx6 I listed 12 things you get for it, making it the better buy in terms of value. But this is my opinion. To me, for the extra money and all the extras, it’s the better buy. But again, personal opinion.
could you make a video on how you color grade your fx6 footage?
@joshnachoz hey! Thanks for the interest. To be honest I have 3 levels of grades. Low, mid and high (price wise).
For low price gigs I shoot with a rec 709 out backed into the footage.
For mid priced jobs I’ll shoot’s with rec 709 baked into the footage and do colour correction and balancing, and tweaks.
And for high paying jobs I have a great colorlist I use for all those jobs.
Nice video man trying to get into video more than photo and this helped me check out other options worth the sub keep it up!!
@patricko2650 thanks for the kind comment. I’m gonna do a number of videos per month, every month that will help videographers with sales and making more money. You will love those 🙏🏻
Fx3- add a v mount, get a vnd, add a 7 inch monitor, rig it out to be “big” or strip it to be incognito.
Barrie, Ontario represent! Cheers from Vegas, love my FX6 and this Video
@filmboyben thanks for the kind comment. Fx6 all day 💪🏻
The lack of a 3.5mm jack kills it for me.
As soon someone who wants to get into shooting Hockey I think you might have convinced me. Time to sell a kidney
However the fx6 is my favorite camera out there
Hey thanks for the great comment. That’s good to know, I will look out for this. Love getting user feedback.
Never use auto anything with a Log profile. Those are mostly good for ready-in-camera video
@shueibdahir really good advice. Thank you for that.
Great video, so lets wait for fx6 mkII :p
@lukiboogie1 yes! Can’t wait.
What’s your advise for music videos? Fx3 or fx6?
@mrprince19968 I think if you’re only doing music videos and nothing else, and you don’t want to future proof yourself with the Fx6 the A7s iii is a great camera. I like it better than the Fx3. It’s cheaper. Has a view finder. And the same picture quality as the fx3 and fx6. Just my humble opinion. I have one and love it.
Great video, love my FX6.
@kadeemfrancis thank you! Means a lot. Great camera.
Great video man!
@kraigpruett thank you! Means a lot. Really appreciate the kind words 🙏🏻
Hi! I own twi FX3 and one A7iv for my client job (corporate)
As a camera operator in big tv production it s always rent caméras (such as fx9 or fx6).
Great camera but no stabilization bro, strong limit on where you can use it
@nor690 for stabilization I use a Cinesaddle and never had a problem. Really saves the day. Affordable solution.
@@theyrecord After good stabilization for so many years it is hard to go back, altough it has such a great image output. I hope the fx6 mark 2 fixes this
@nor690 what do you shoot with now? Fx6 mark 2 I’d prob buy eyes closed.
@@theyrecord a7s3 and fx6 sometimes. The problem is they cant get the sensor stabilised if they have ND filters on top of it
@nor690 A7s3 is a really great camera 💪🏻
The rolling shutter towards the end of the hockey clips is terrible. Fx3 owner here. Sometimes I just wanna pay the arm and a leg and get a venice
@thebeststreetinterviewchannel I wish I had that kind of money, unfortunately I do not 🙏🏻
@theyrecord me either but a boy can dream 😁😁
@thebeststreetinterviewchannel amen to dreaming 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Sony user here. Strange thing that image quality, grade quality is not mentioned at all. lol.
@dynamiclearning4u sorry I don’t think I understand?
@@theyrecord ooh! Nice! That’s a useful feature
@dynamiclearning4u thanks for the time and comments 🙏🏻
I agree with this video. I wish I bought the fx6 first
@racemode my brother 💪🏻

@racemode thank you! Got an interesting series I’m working on for this channel.

@racemode brother, really appreciate the support 🙏🏻
I love my combo of fx6 fx30!
@relaxwithme3266 yes! Great combo 💪🏻
How does it preform in low light?
@demariodjw it’s incredible in low light. But so is the fx3, a7s3 and a74.
I see these and it's honestly such a hard decision still. Probably best to just have both and use whichever one fits the different scenarios best. I'll probably still get the 3 mainly for size reasons with lots of traveling and also social content from time to time
@kiliansalomon507 if size is really important to you and you want the smaller footprint, the fx3 is great for you.
How is this the first time I have heard about the cache recording?!?!
@@theyrecord I knew about it on REDs, but it's usually like 5-10 seconds...
I wish the Ronin 4D had it!!
@philgraaf I love my ronin 4D. The one feature I wish it had, that’s so basic is the ability to put the rule of thirds grid on the monitor for shot framing. Every single camera has that accept the 4D. Even the osmo pocket has it. And after that, def cache recording 💪🏻
They have this on older cameras. They would call it pre-recording when you wanted slow motion footage.
@@boahandarrowsproductions4326 yea, I know it as “pre-roll”
But no internal stabilization. Everything comes with a trade-off.
Auto ND? Don’t need it - I shoot in studio and control all the lighting (and I have a set of Nisi on the rare occasions where I need ‘em)
Cache? Nope - shoot off scripts so my recording work is trimmed as I write and/or rehearse - so no shoot and hope!
Form factor? Once rigged up my FX3 only a Sony expert could tell what’s “inside” and IF anyone cares to ask “The camera they shot “The Creator” on and the Clients won’t care (and those who might… we’ll, no reason to compete with FX6ers)
Top Handle ? Rarely shoot handheld but - when I do - it’s good to have my onboard mic
Battery? Shoot with V-Mount
Monitor? I have a Ninja for each FX3 (and I can shoot ProRes RAW in a pinch IF the Client wants that!)
Sony Slog3 and Cineton are good enough for me!
Can the fx6 record 10bit colour in HD or lower res ?
@realpicturestudio I think it’s best to watch a @geraldundone video for something like that just to be sure.
I know there’s a lot more you can do with the camera using a Atomos Ninja V recorder outside of the in body solutions.
For me, I always shoot in the highest files a camera gives me.
It’s still a great camera!!We got it.❤
@valleedbrume yes! Great camera for sure. Thanks so much for taking the time to view. Means a lot 🙏🏻
EVERYTHING you said ...is the reason I purchased 3 Sony FS5's!! Lol!
@idealplusagency hey it sounds like you figured out what works for you, and I support that. Great work 💪🏻
Cache recording is legendary
@brown-wp8et yes! Has changed my life that’s for sure. Have it mapped to a button. Use it all the time! Edits are so easy when everything is a banger!
🔥🔥🔥 this is amazing!
@reellifeproductions1160 thank you so much for the kind words and view.
Good conclusions, but this only works if you have much more resources to invest and live in the United States, which is impossible in developing countries because the cost is too much expensive. I prefer to continue with my BMPCC 6K FF, invest in lights and give too much more quality with less resources.
@amadeudesign if you are in love with what you have, you have the right stuff.
@@theyrecord yeah man, I think all of us love expensive gear, but in the end, all is about to make money with right tools for your particular type of business.
@amadeudesign I would agree. If you’re making money you’re doing well.
Just remember, cheaper does not mean cheap
@ederplays2788 yes 💪🏻💪🏻
Did anyone else notice the way it looks like the puck flips and stalls on the stick at 1:48? It's likely because of the cut, but it looks nuts.
@paullrohan I’m gonna watch that again. Thanks for pointing it out. Curious now.
Is it better than a black magic cinema pocket 6k? 🤔
The price difference in my country is just 33%. ND alone is worth paying this difference .... I was not aware of cache recording :o.
@joATTech totally agreee. Cache recording is a game changer. For me personally, it has saved me so much time during a shoot and in post. Incredible. Cache recording is also in the FX9 I believe as well.
@@theyrecord FX6 is on my list to get. But since there are rumors FX6 mk II is around a corner I'm still waiting :D.
@JoATTech I much like you would welcome the Fx6 mark 2 with open arms. I’m also looking forward to the a7S4. Been waiting for that as well.
@@theyrecord Not sure I would buy FX6 mk2. But when it's there original FX6 should be discounted :).
I already see some used ones in my country been sold lately, before no one was selling them :D. I guess people preparing for mark 2.
@JoATTech I plan on keeping my Fx6 for a lifetime. Solid purchase whenever you get there. Something you can always use that’s for sure.
these 2 cameras are pretty much the same in specifications
@jamirmuzik7942 hey these cameras spec wise all came out of the A7s3 (both the FX3 and FX6) same sensor but that’s what makes the fx6 the better deal. You get more value for the money you spend.
Dude you got to rig out your fx3 , trust me the clients will love it ! Throw on a useless matte box for extra bonus points
Love my fx6
@irbydidit1347 yes! Great camera.
I am super confused. You did a video saying you are going to Canon and a C70. Did I miss a video on why you stayed on Sony. Also you dogged the FX6 in your own commenting, then now are praising it. What happened here?
And this is coming from a guy who has switched twice myself, back on the FX6 now. Not judging, I love them both.
@thebenjaminbanks hey thanks for the comment and the view. I just think we see this differently and that’s ok 🙏🏻
Bru for next time get more related Broles and Test shots for exactly what are you saying plssss
And tnx for data
@hamidqanei5262 thanks for the view and comment.
Bro you didn't mention advantage of clear image zoom can AF
@visionstudiomy so I listed 12 things but could have easily gone with 15 or more but than nobody would watch the video. I also left out the resale value of the camera being better long term. And I can go on and on. Clearly a much cheaper option than the fx3 when you factor in the massive value you get for the extra money.
The whole "size of the camera impresseses clients" thing has literally never been true in my experience.
@@theyrecord I didn't, I have confused so much
@lonelyspeckarp hey thanks for taking the time to view, leaving a comment as well. Very kind of you. Have a great day.
Another reason. FX6 has no IBIS, and who doesn't love a shaky footage? Lol.
Watching the whole video with a A7iv budget
@sheuncreatives1334 if you end up with the A7iv it’s a great camera. We all start somewhere. To be honest, I started with a GoPro and MacBook Air, no money and had just lost a business. Only up from here 💪🏻
The video is good but put the mic down 😢
@neilrocks25 thanks for the comment and the tip. Appreciate it.
I’ll admit I’m on the bad side of form but if it helps me put out more content I might roll with it.
why am I watching this? I just barely bought a7iii 💀💀💀💀💀💀 (could only get 2 50yo minolta lenses)
@carimannola1447 congrats on buying a camera. I hope you film with it as much as possible. When I started. I only had a GoPro. So you’re doing better than when I started already 🙏🏻
Cache recording what????
@danilogonzalezmx yes! Cache recording up to 31 seconds and it’s been a game changer for me. Have it mapped to a button for quick toggle on/off.
i own a sony a7iv and shoot exclusively photos. Well well lets find out why the fx6 is cheaper than the fx3
@johannvantassel4604 it’s cheaper because you pay more, and get way more. But this applies if you want to do this full time as a business. If you want photos and social media content I do think the a7iv is great.
nice video
@cristobalramirez2612 thank you so much for taking the time to watch it. 🙏🏻
I disagree about the build. id say the fx3 feels sturdier. the fx6 feels very plastic unlike fs7
@jmichaelfilms8545 hey thanks for the input. What did you think about the other reasons?
Man, can you ditch the staccato delivery and talk to your audience like you would talk to a client! While I'm here you don't n have to make a reference to the 'Sony Fx... every time! It's the 6, or the 3
@mth280268 hey super new to this. With time I should get better. I appreciate the comment and tip.
Why not just get an FX9?
@andrewlutes2048 well the FX9 is a lot more expensive. About $5,000 plus more where I’m from.
Wait. I thought you left Sony for Canon?
@@theyrecord gotcha. That hockey footage looks great. DaVinci?
@precision4life756 yea I only use DaVinci as its easiest for colour grading. I think for sports, thanks to the cache recording the Fx6 is really hard to beat. And I do believe Sony cameras are great. Just a shame it has to have such a hard 12bit workflow. I was even excited about the Sony Burano with 16 bit colour but heard it has bad rolling shutter and at that price tag makes it a bad buy for me.
Dude the FX6 cost $2,000 more.
@contentm3893 yes it’s def more, but you also get way more making it the cheaper option in terms of dollar per value (obviously my personal opinion).
If only it had some IBIS 😭
@rivaldocamara for me personally, IBIS or all of the above, I’m picking all of the above but that’s me and my needs. I also use a cinesaddle for all stable footage and never use a tripod.
If IBIS is important to you. Fx6 is not your camera and whatever you have is great.
