    I've got my H&S for the fine work and a Amazon cheapy for my base coating. I'll give this one a try for an upgrade to my base coating brush. Thanks Ian!

      try lower air pressure at first like 15psi, this sucker REALLY tosses alot of paint out, I have another procon boy on the way to replace my now dead and unrepairable Madworks .5 which sprayed more like a .3

    Looking at how the pattern first came, I'd say to lower the pressure a bit.
    This airbrush fan pattern works better with low pressure and gets more consistent

    with your test on the fan cap nozzle i noticed a small void in the middle of the paint swath,with the 290 and fan cap nozzle that means too much air psi,i had to turn down my compressor to about 20-22 psi,i love the 290,just bought my second one the other day!

      Ahh good to know, I get lazy sometimes and just leave my regulator wherever it was last, I'll turn it down next time and observe. Thanks!

    Great gun indeed. I got a pistol grip handle for mine to make it a bit easier to… handle! LAL
    It’s going to come in handy on the 1/48 Monogram B-17G for sure

      I added a water separator to mine, kind of acts as a pistol grip otherwise I would have done the same as you.

    Sorry to send this note through your airbrush vid, but if I sent it through your Leo files, I didn't know if you would get it. My Leo 2 doesn't move, and I'm running out of trouble-shooting ideas. Everything else works fine--sound, (front) lights, turret rotation, gun elevation and fire, machine gun fire. It just doesn't move forward or backward or turn. It seems like the motors in the lower hull are not getting the memo.
    I did a reset of the dmd unit to factory settings and reset the radio commands, but that didn't do anything. I've built the Sherman and the Abrams, but I don't really know anything about these kits other than follow the directions carefully. That being said, I may have made an assembly mistake, but I don't have the heart to take the whole kit apart to see if there's something I missed in the lower hull. Tamiya trouble-shooting says it's possible the dmd unit is broken if the tank doesn't move, but I don't know how likely this is. If you have any suggestions or can point me in a direction, I'd appreciate it.

      Hi Jay, please try this www.manualslib.com/manual/1992065/Tamiya-Leopard-2a6.html?page=28#manual page 28 has a section about demo mode, if that does not help I would recommend joining the rctankwarfare.co.uk forum and asking there as well. another good resource is the rcuniverse.com tank forums. if your DMD is indeed bad and Tamiya will not send a replacement the odds are good someone will have one on one of the forums.

      @@PitstainHobbies Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'll give the demo mode a go tomorrow. I'm Leo'd out for now. It eventually builds up into a good-looking tank, but it hasn't been my fav build. Your vids have helped. I did the turret sag fix. I can see why "4 out of 5 dentists" suggest the fix as there's so much weight in the back of the turret, and there's almost no space between the rear deck and the turret bottom to begin with.

      P.S. As I was going through the paperwork looking for fixes, I did remember seeing something about demo mode, but when I went to look for it, I couldn't find it. I just kept recalling Buzz Lightyear Demo Mode.

      I have not but it should clean up just as easy with lacquer thinner.

      @@PitstainHobbies But compared to paasche talon this is way complicated. Not to mention the super small nozzle ! Isn't that a deal braker you cant even hold it with fingers, special tool sold separately is used to remove - insert it. This is crazy, "Japanese" are making idiots from US and seems everyone happy? Again nozzle with treads? in 2024? Take a look at Devilbiss Dagr desing. Who is stupid then? I vote for idiot customers and clever Japanese.

    The fan is split though.

    • @PitstainHobbies
      @PitstainHobbies  Год назад +1

      What?

    • @ErikisOfficial
      @ErikisOfficial Год назад +1

      @PitstainHobbies from the video the fan spray patter looks split. Heavy on the top and bottom and light in the middle. Usually when this happens the material is too thin, the pressure too high or not enough material. I seen another video after I watched your and it was the same thing.

    • @PitstainHobbies
      @PitstainHobbies  Год назад +1

      @ErikisOfficial you are likely correct, due to the much larger nozzle and needle the paint may not need as much thinner or pressure needs to be lowered.
