    I am love love love all your videos and tutorials . You have taught me how to stretch and strengthen my muscles and my turn outs have gotten better in dance class . You are my second teacher . I am Currently in Intermediate class and unfortunately there is no adult beginners class .I am grateful for your careful attention to details .I was taught the Vaganova method as well and you tutorials are very accurate. Thank you so much and God bless .

    Love what you're saying about the bends - bending the top instead of the lower back. You can also end up doing damage to your upper back by just using your lower back! Crazy stuff... Loving your tutorials :)

    I’d just been working on stretching and had these exact doubts about how to work on my back! The “images” you use for us to understand what things look and feel like are so helpful 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 yayyy!!! And you make it look so easy and beautiful, I can tell how much work you’ve put into it... I basically feel like a piece of wood both in arabesque que back bends 🤦🏽‍♀️ just yesterday my teacher had tried to explain the same about the back (Vaganova method teachers and students have such congruence in their speech!) but there’s never enough time to try everything for each student in a group class so this was sort of like a private lesson (YAAASSS!!!) I am so thankful for your videos, not only do they help me improve, they also teach me to do things carefully so I feel like I’m taking care of my body. THANK YOU!!!

    I need this. But im kind of late. Last 3yrs ago i wanted to be a good adult ballerina. Started doing ballet and keep on stretching and doing all i can to be more flexible and so i copy vagannova kids stretches and i had poor nutrition because i want to be thin and developed anorexia bulimia. So when i recovered i injured my lower back due to age as well 26yrs old when i started doing ballet.

    Thank you! Great advise on the upper back versus the lower back. Really like your approach as to what we should and should not be doing. Thank you for the back exercises. Wishing you success with your desires.

    Thanks so much for these videos, no one clearly steps through all the fundamental details like you do. So sorry to hear about your situation, it might be worth considering put an ad break in your RUclips vid so you can at least get some monetary return back from all these views? As much as I dislike ads and appreciate that you haven't inserted them so far, unlike a lot of other YTers, making sure you yourself is sustainable is more important. Highly likely I will get crucified from your audience for suggesting but ce la vie! Best from Sydney.

    This was so, so helpful - thank you! :) Does anybody have any tips about doing this with lordosis? I'm not very good at exercises like this and always seem to end up putting too much strain on the lower part of my spine when I do them because of that exaggerated curve down there. Thanks!

    I get really excited when I realize you uploaded. Plz try to upload more, I know it's not in your hands, but can you actually film at home? You filmed once at your bf's apartment and I enjoyed the content. Just try to film things that won't take much space like exercises ,etc. Thank you so much again.

    12:15 what is this pose called?

    • @SaltySugarPlum
      @SaltySugarPlum  5 лет назад

      I dont know if it has a name. I see ballerinas practice this pose a lot whenever they are preparing for Swan Lake (you need a VERY strong back for Swan Lake) so in my mind, I call it the Swan Backbend. Maybe rhythmic gymnasts have a 'real' name for it, but I've never heard a ballet dancer call it by any particular name

    I always get that pain on the pubic bone, I oft wondered if it was normal, and I also pull my head back cause it helps me stay like that, glad it's ok! I want to elongate my torso, I'm very petite and started working hard on my back strength and flexibility hoping it would help, do you have any other advice for a leaner longer torso? I also use the roll on the coccyx area... am I on the right track here? thanks for the videos by the way, best explanations ever!
