- Hello and welcome to Growing With Simon. In part 3 of my hydroponic journey I will show you a DIY grow tent using my custom DWC and Kratky boxes. Simply by stapling tin foil to cardboard around the custom bed. This will make the create an even DLI inside the grow tent.

No way! I never thought to try using my phone as a DLI meter, I've been worried about my light output since I'm just trying some cheap amazon grow lights in my system for now so I'm glad there is a cheap method to get a rough idea what their output is! Thanks for the videos I'm loving following your journey so far!
Hey! Thanks I was in your situation 2 months ago. Learned a lot, just trying to put it all in 1 spot. I’ve got lots of cool time lapses coming out. Just takes times because the lettuce needs to grow :)
Great video! Reflectors are very important to achieve an equal amount of light everywhere in the growing space. And another positive side effect: since you are not wasting light to pointlessly illuminating the surroundings you can get away with less light in the first place, meaning you can either buy weak and cheap lights or you can dim your strong lights, in both cases this will lower power cost.
Hey thanks for the comment, just a reminder that aluminum foil has a shiny side and a dull side.
Great data man!
Thanks man, glad you enjoy the content
Simon, you can use Duct Tape (DUCK TAPE) and make a hinge for your door. Just run a vertical piece inside and outside. It should hold the door.
Thought of making something similar but easier to work with when it’s all open.
Heroic work. Respect.
Thank you!
