    • @growingwithsimon
      @growingwithsimon 3 месяца назад

      Yes their is, the hotter the faster they will grow however your more prone to mold. Under 68-70F doesnt grow fast enough. I keep mine at around 70-74F and humidity at 48-53%. For my AC I use this plug amzn.to/3xkNTa4 so I can have a buffer. Turn on when above 73.5F turn off when its a 70.5F. For my humidity, I use amzn.to/4agbLdD, same thing turn on when above 53% and turn off when 48% humidity. Also want to have at less 2 fans blowing the air around. I use amzn.to/4agbLdD. As for lights a lot of people use these amzn.to/49s3CS3, their cheap and they work.

      Hey @GrowingwithGlenna For the gutter grow system, you just need to make sure the soil stays damp. You can either use some wick cord (amzn.to/3J5aj1I) to increase the wickining inside your bucket or put some hydroponic clay pebbles on top to prevent evaporation (amzn.to/3xqpJv0)

I tried to find the company but their site has that they changed their name in 2020 and I don’t see that item on their website. • @hazeysmoke
    @hazeysmoke 4 месяца назад

    you gotta block the holes that allow ANY spray / mist coming up into the face. just add 1 layer of a sheet of metal over the box u built that covers the round power washer base.. your bottom plate that fits into the sink needs to have multiple holes to change size as many sinks have different size sink bays... your screws/bolts you should use flat round top bolts Dome Bolts or carriage bolts or a flat socket bolt. can we see a video of you using it with old dried on roots as those trays are clean.\

    • @growingwithsimon
      @growingwithsimon 4 месяца назад

      The mist comes from behind and in front of the cleaner because the bottom is open and the mist shoots back up. I’m holding that if I do a full bottom and only drill a few holes to let the water out it till prevent that from happening. Also the bottom plate will be a full sheet so won’t have any screws in the way. I’ll make a quick video of it taking off the roots from the sunflowers.

    • @chno4422
      @chno4422 Год назад

      Thank you 🙏🏻 For the Poly lining on the inside, did you just tape the walls to the base, caulk, then put the vapor barrier over it? What’s the best place to get the poly I didn’t see it in the item list?

    • @growingwithsimon
      @growingwithsimon Год назад

      You put the caulking in the corners of your wooden box, than place the vapour barrier inside and fill up 1/2 way with water so the vapour barrier fills the box. I only stapled the very top on the wooden box than I screwed a 1x2 on top of that to sandwich the vapour barrier in between the wooden box and 1x2. Caulking the corners of the vapour barrier is just an option. I would suggest it because water will get into the corner and you won’t be able to clean it. The link to the vapour barrie has been added to the video description. It’s a perfect side because you can make 4ftx8ft boxes. Thank you!

    Great and simple idea, though you may want to raise those walls so more light reaches the plants because the LEDs need to be quite high to achieve an even PAR/DLI distribution. Is the aluminium the generic cheap stuff you can get anywhere?

    • @growingwithsimon
      @growingwithsimon Год назад

      Yeah just the generic stuff, remember their is a side shinier than the other. Your right, the higher the better but the light would have been higher than the aluminum. I tested the DLI using the Photone add (video in that) and it’s pretty even.

      @vam7706 Yes, bottom watering is bottom watering. However do you add nutrient to your water? That’s why I go with soil. Nutrient already in the soil. It also hold moisture better for germinating and I don’t have to mist the flats everything day or even twice a day. I’ll soon be doing some videos on how I grow. Just need the time.

    That mixture is for 10ml ? So you recommended doing a higher EC level because when you add water to the solution the EC LEVEL DROPS to the average desired EC

    • @growingwithsimon
      @growingwithsimon Год назад

      Hey rodney, I wouldnt recommend doing very small batches. wayy to much room for error. I usually do a big batch in a large 64L tote that way I can use it on demand without having to mix it so much. Do a batch according to instructions and if the EC is too high add a bit of water to bring it down.

      The benefit of flushing is mainly to reduce the nitrates contant, here is a research done. You can click on the graph and notice the 48hr flush has more than 1/2 the nitrates. www.researchgate.net/figure/Quantitative-and-qualitative-parameters-measured-at-the-harvest-of-treated-and-untreated_tbl1_361761035

      Thanks! Just make sure you fluff out the cotton balls. The ones I used in video had a smaller germination rate, was because the ball was very tight and the roots had a hard time going through it.
