I created a private teams, a few months later i need to share some document folder with another team (from a specific channel) . as i understand, once you add someone to a team they will have access to all channels and folders. I would like to know if there is a way to give permission to a specific channel or folder so they won't have access to other channels/folders. Thanks in advance.

I know is sounds weird on having a solo Team, but when I use to have Slack at work, I created a private place where I could store notes, web links, files and things I could quickly search or find by date. Now, I understand that is what MS OneNote is for and I can add it to Teams, but I my OneNote is well structured and uncluttered, many times I just want a quick and dirty place I can put things on it that is searchable without having my desktop cluttered with StickyNotes...

But I learned today from my administration that we cannot schedule meetings with private or locked channels. My question is how can I UNLOCK channels. Thanks

Hi, I have a question for you. Our company recently adopted Teams. I work on the acquisitions team, so each project we do is a new acquisition that includes due diligence (financial, HR, etc.), integration, legal documents, etc. Each team working on an acquisition has approx. 20-30 members. About 80% of these members are the same across all projects, however only certain people should be able to view certain files/folders (eg. HR contracts, legal documents). We also have weekly team meetings (on Teams) to track our progress, and only the people involved on that project would obviously need to be on that Team (actually only a subset of the people need to be on every week - most senior staff are not on every week but only on the first and last of the weekly calls). What is the optimal way of structuring these projects within Teams? Should each project be its own Team, or a Channel within a broader Team? It seems like creating a brand new Team for every project seems like a lot of "work" since we would need to create a brand new 30-member Team for each new project. We often have several projects ongoing at the same time, so 80%+ of the people might be in 5-10 of the same Teams at once. It seems Channels might work better, but not sure if I will have as tight of control over permissions doing it this way and if it would work as well for setting up meetings. Hope you can help!

So what happens when creating a channel and the privacy setting does not appear? Where do I find it or is it a permission issue? I will also add I am the owner and creator of the Team Group. The team group is also done under an academic institution.

Roger Muller you can only meet now in private channels. When scheduling small groups, I am scheduling them on the calendar page and entering students names. That way it is not attached to a channel and only those invited have it on their calendar.

Try to use a wiki page (an app that you can add to the group as you add One Note)
