why do this sharepoint calendar workaround when the team already has an existing calendar?
@Kevin Hi, I watched the video around 3 months ago and created a Sharepoint calendar for my team, which everyone loves the notifications. I am trying to set up another team, and I can't find the app anymore!!! Instead, there is a team calendar that can be set for team meetings. Its function is different from how I utilized the Sharepoint calendar. Is the Sharepoint calendar still available? If so, will you drop me a note about how to access that? Much appreciated.
Thanks Kevin. The UX is kind of clunky as this displays the old experience UI. I tried pasting into teams the nicer 'events' view you get in sharepoint, but then the 'Add Event' button does not show up. Thoughts?

Short yet straightforward, detailed explanation. Thank you so much, I really needed this function from teams!
I had been trying to figure this out for awhile, and this was the first CLEAR tutorial I found. This was so helpful, thank you!
I can see this being extremely useful in many situations. A cherry on top would be to also have a Planner tab on Teams and have the three pieces (Planner, Outlook and Teams) fully synchronized.
AGREED!
Love all your MS Teams videos, Kevin. They are so quick and easy and informative. Keep them up.
THANK YOU! These instruction were PERFECT and took me less than 5 minutes to set up for my team.
Thank you Kevin. Both my colleague and myself have been wanting to have a shared calendar for Teams and now finally, thanks to you, we can do it. Keep up the great work.
Wow!!! Thank you very much for this tip. The more I watch your videos, the more interesting the Office universe becomes. It's incredible how much easier life gets with these amazing tools, you're definitely helping a lot, thanks again 😊😊
I have no idea how integrating a shared calendar wasn't one of the first things integrated into the teams platform. Still baffles me.
It’s there now, but bizarrely they omitted the month view. Facepalm!
Agreed. I hate work from home 🤦🏾♀️and Ms teams 😩😩
Another excellent tutorial from Kevin. This way of setting up a shared calendar with Office 365 seems more user friendly and manageable than with a shared mailbox.
This was extremely helpful and so easy to understand! Excellent explanation, I can't thank you enough!
Great video Kevin, good to see more useful uses of SharePoint in Microsoft Teams 👍
Thank you!! I easily setup my Class Calendar before my Virtual Open House. Thank you again Kevin for your amazing expertise!!!

Kevin does the calendar you displayed in the store still exist today? If so what is the new the app store seems updated and different than you demonstrated in your example? Thx

This worked great for members using Windows but I can't seem to connect it to outlook (i'm using a macbook). The "connect to outlook" is greyed out for me even though i set up the calendar. I wonder if you may have some ideas to get around this?
Thank you Kevin. This worked for mw within minutes
Excellent!! Thank you.

Good, Kevin. I can imagine how this option will help people.
This was so helpful Kevin! Thanks! Is there a way to color code the events you put on the Shared Calendar or does the color coding come from the Outlook piece?
Excellent! And I was thinking of sharing a calendar using Microsoft Visio: your idea is much more elegant and practical :-)
Congratulations on the didactics.

The planning and scheduling of my courses and lectures just got better and easier.
Is there a way to make the calendar read only for everyone except for the creator?
Thank you so much, you make me look great at work :)
Thank you & greetings from Sri Lanka! Excellent series of Video tutorials with easy to follow instructions. Can you pl explain the advantage of creating a team calendar when already there is one on the left side panel. What is the difference between the two?
OMG your videos have helped me so much.

Thank you, it helped me a lot.

Love your presentations thank you. Do you have a video on how to create a cartoon or animated video for either elearning or presentation please keep up the great work. Please stay safe and healthy 😊
Perfection personified 👏🏽
OK. I love your videos and the useful tips you provide. However, not this one. Being a SharePoint consultant and developer for almost 20 years now, I can promise you that this is not what most people want - and it's been exasperatingly frustrating. No one wants to manage 3-4 calendars, or worse, do double data entry. What people want is a calendar singular data source. The new SharePoint web part for group events is great with the exception of a calendar format. The list format is nice to have as an additional view, but it just doesn't cut it on its own. Additionally, for a "vacation" calendar or similar use case, admins and site admins want to be able to add in team members' OUTLOOK calendar in an overlay format so that if things change, or your need reminders, the SharePoint/Teams calendar is always up-to-date without any additional administration. There are several web part vendors who have had web parts for this for years, but they don't work with Modern SharePoint. Microsoft should just make this part of the software instead of kludging it together like this. I know you don't control the SharePoint team, but maybe you can have some input that's heard - unlike the users out here in the real world. Sorry for the rant, but this has been a sore spot for years.
What would you recommend instead of this? We want to create a calender accessible in Outlook but not shared/owned by a specific person.
indeed, the calendar option in 365 are confusing. Do I create a shared mailbox, a SharePoint calendar or even use Planners scheduled view? Worst par about it is that Teams creates the shared mailbox already, but the mailbox and calendar are hidden. SharePoint calendars don't allow you to set reminders, you have to sync it to outlook and then add your own reminders. If you just want to show a calendar in that view, then SharePoint is ok.
Yes! This is what I’m currently trying to accomplish. A master calendar with different views to manage all time sensitive data with tabs across the top to change or stack views depending on what type of data you wanna to look at. You could even use it as a task tracker by assigning events to a specific person. Where is this?!?!?!
great video - straight to the point - thanks
Wonderful
Kevin is my Teams/SharePoint hero...repeat! This is the best of 2021 and its only day 4 and I am 6 months late watching it.
You are amazing! Thank you so much!
Such an help, thank you so much
Thanks 👍, that was really helpful.
thanks - this was a SUPER tool!
Thank you! Finally, what I wanted.
Great tutorial
Great Tutorials! Have helped immensely thank you! Anything on MS Project Online?
Thanks for the clear explanation: this one and others as well. Is there any way to post a link to reoccuring MS Teams meetings to calendar?
Watching this gave me an overwhelming desire to take my own life
The only thing missing is at the end, showing what another Team Member has to do to add it to their outlook, the rest is very clear
very useful ...thansk kevin.
Hello Kevin.
I want to know more about the Teams Calendar App version - that one does not have a month view
Thanks, Kevin. Good demo! Topic suggestion: how to manage contacts in M365, including how to integrate/sync business & personal contacts among Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint/Teams, iCloud, iPhone. I have a vexing mess that needs clean-up, but don’t understand best practices or how they’re designed to work together.
Thank you! That was really easy. Do you have a video on how to color code the calendar?
so good thanks.. we will like to know how to add planner and task to the calendar as well.. thanks
Thank you so much... 😇
Thanks Kevin for the great video! Just one quick question: I did all the steps and it worked just perfectly. However, when I create a personal appointment, the time in share point varies from Microsoft teams. The time zone is similar in both pages. How to solve the problem? Thanks in advance 😊
This worked! Thank you!
Great video
Nice Video!!! It helps me a lot!!!
Hi! Great content! I was wondering how can we automate this kind of situation? Imagine the calendar linked to a vacation request approval for a team. How can we create an approval flow getting email notifications when an event might be created, and approve that event so the team can track the status of it. Could it be a future content ? Thank you 😊
; ) Wow, look at you go! 270,000 subscribers! And 35,000!!! views. And why am I here? ; ) Because as of today I need to know how to master the calendar in Teams....so Thank you for doing this video training. Steven Palange.
Thanks for making my request :)
