Thanks for the video. As someone who has produced several live events with Teams, it would be nice to have a video explaining how to produce a meeting with multiple producers and presenters. There seems to be little information on this subject.

@@dnml4713 ya gotta have at least two people to run a live event. One to move the videos live if you have a panel of speakers and one to run the chat externally. THe internal chat everyone can watch and presenters can possibly watch both q&a and internal chat...but hte tab with the labels are really confusing....need revision.

Best video i have seen for Live Events. The only component missing from any tutorial i have found is how to add content on the fly or to the queue. In a regular teams meeting, you can add a PPT and will automatically go into Show mode but there is different behaviour for Live Event. Also there doesn't seem to be any drag and drop function.

As many have echoed below, I'd love to see a video on producing live events and best practices for presenters and producers. I'd like to ask two questions: 1) can may organization/school schedule two different live events happening at the same time? 2) can I invite someone who is not part of our organization (let's say, a visiting professor) and give this person presenter permissions, making him ou her able to share screen content?

thank you for this tutorial, this is very helpful. I have a couple of questions:
First, can attendees join by phone only? It seems like we can only share the link to the event, no call-in details (only for the presenters). For regular Teams meeting I have this option available.
Second Question: if I share a PowerPoint as the producer, can a presenter have "the ball" and drive the slides himself, or should the producer advance the slide for the presenter?
thanks in advance for your help.

My concern is the 20 SECONDS DELAY.

My thought is 2 or 3 seconds is acceptable.

That was great. Thanks Kevin. My question is - and I'm fairly new to using Microsoft Teams - is I'm planning a virtual Annual General Meeting and we'll need to have voting take place. Is it better then to use Teams Meeting format for that purpose so it's more interactive? We usually would have around 30-50 people attend an event physically in the building, but this year with going virtual instead it's hard to say how many will be interested in it. Potentially we have 400-500 families and community partners (we're a not for profit child care centre). Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

HI @Sarah Anteola Teams Live Events is only available for

Thanks Kevin for a clear tutorial and explanation. Question? We want to broadcast a live event (with pre-recorded video) from the USA to Australia end viewers. I understand each participant will need to have the Teams app on their viewing device (tablet/phone/laptop etc), but what will the viewer see? Do they see only the right hand screen being the presentation? Hopefully they wouldn't see the left-hand screen where you are doing the switching of media etc...as you've said, there is a delay of 10-12 sec for the stream to be live. Does their chat window come up automatically when they've clicked on the live event invitation link? Do you have any kind of tutorial what happens on the viewer side of a broadcast? Any information would be appreciated. thank you.

Howdy, thanks for these amazing tutorials. Our company has been using Adobe Connect over 11 years and are now switching to Teams since we already have Office 365. We did our first New Hire Virtual Orientation by creating a Teams Team, then channel and linking the calendar invite to that channel. I guess we didn't understand that you can independently hold a calendar meeting and create a Teams Team and channel so we were surprised when half showed up as "guests" and had limited functionality, they were not able to chat, use our excel sign-in sheet, or Microsoft forms poll. We are still learning and are trying to watch all your training. If you have any other best practices or tips coming from another system to Teams that would be appreciated in knowing the differences and what to expect. Thanks for all that you do here!!

Thanks for this tutorial, it was very helpful. One question about sharing video in a Live Events meeting - If you share a video clip as the content and play it back, will the video/audio play correctly for remote users? I know with Skype for Business, this didn't work well and would result in choppy audio/video for remote users and Skype Broadcast platform doesn't support video playback at all.
Has this been addressed in Teams, or is there another preferred method to share video with remote users? If possible a tutorial on this, or integrating Stream with Teams would be great! Thank you!

Have been doing this and attendees and presenters are not happy that attendees can raise hands and chat, but not speak - a feature in competing services like Webex and adobe connect. I do not see it as an upcoming feature in their roadmap either. My thought yesterday was that maybe one could add bridge line (their top tier integrated team license) as a presenter? That way the audience could take turns speaking in background? Thoughts?

Hi Kevin! Thanks for the video. I love your instruction videos and I was wondering if you are planing to do a video on how to do Microsoft Teams Live Event with an external device (a camera).

I have tried to host a party on MS teams as a DJ. The sound quality wasn't good and I have faces delays. Can Microsoft Teams be used with OBS? Secondly, can you please create a tutorial showing how a DJ can effectively host a party on MS teams and allow the audience to interact? Thanks

Thank you, this was very helpful and very well explained, I only have a question, how do I record the live event and where do I check the record. Kind regards from México city.

Thanks Kevin - great video - do you know if the meeting chat is visible to attendees? Ideally I would like to be able to chat with presenters privately without attendees seeing - the only bit is want them to see is the published Q&A
