Just seeing him reminds me of the 90s. The 90s were a special time there was enough room for everyone. Reggae/dancehall, R&B, House music, Rock, Pop, and of course Hip hop/Rap.
Preach
Agreed
Nostalgia for sure. Brings me back to when my only concern was watching music videos ALL DAY lol.
Yup, I listened to it all and am better for it. People are shocked by my catalog of musical knowledge, but I grew up in the 90s… MTV, BET, and VH1 baby-when they played music
Yes the 90s was the best time of all the centurys
I’m so glad someone is finally doing this story very underrated
Funny just listening to his material they need a vs battle between shabba and Sean paul.
@@arthurrobinson4644 Not a good match.Two different era's.
Indeed. His style is unmatched.

Undisputed king of ragga
The fact that he kept his home a home with one wife and kids....I give him a huge RESPECT. I remember Shabba well in the 90s. Loved his music.
yes indeed. there is still some men who stay w/one woman in the music industry. some of them have 10, 20 kids with different women and i dont understand that, then when they pass away, things go wrong with the dividing of monies left by the passed parents. such a sad state of affairs
The part about one wife and fathering all his children by her, gave me a new respect for Shabba. Its also refreshing to see the maturity over time
This is actually what struct me also, i really do respect him for that
He was the ugly brother. Not many women would want to father children with him, not especially when you thought of getting a girl child.
And, the respect he has for his mother and father, and giving them the credit for showing him the best way.
@@hiphopjewels
True!
That's kind of a low bar if this is what makes you respect someone
I was wondering why both Shabba and Patra were seemingly snubbed at the BET Awards. I respect and applaud their reasons for not participating.
If you watched the video you know why
@@kinglord7707 the comment was written in past tense. As they were wondering in the past. The follow up statement shows they watched the video, understand and respect it.

BET lost out by cheaping out.
@@dreadams3207 Thank you for breaking it down for King Dumb A**, so I wouldn't have to.
I remember Shabba being huge when I was kid. You would hear his music blasting in peoples cars. He and Patra basically introduced Dancehall to a lot of people in the US. I always wondered what happened to both of them. Glad to see him still living well. They both need too drop new music
I remember Patra, what happened to her?

Exactly we loved their music and wondered what happened. How this nasty music industry try to groom ppl into what they want and then take them out the spot light away from their fans, if they don't conform. I'm so sorry this happened to him and sooooo many others. That is a very manipulative business I tell you. To see all this. Too many have the same story for it to be lies
One wife since 1992 and only mother to his kids. 👏👏👏
Cancelled cuz he didnt play n2 the stereotype of black menz of low/no restraint r delayed gratification. #ClapItUp 👏👏👏
Inspirational man.
With all the temptation and options he must have had its really nice to see and hear.
Men usually praise guys who are players and women go for them regardless so with his power and ability to have any woman he wanted he could have had 10 plus kids and several baby moms and caused dysfunctional relationships
That’s usually most Carribean and African families. It’s Blk Americans who that see to have this problem, and normalize it.

There is no one like SHABBA. Back in the day, every time I played Ting-a-Ling-a Ling in our car, my toddler would repeatedly shout out the window, SHABBA. @@jameswatson5807 Yes,Truth Indeed AMEN. This 🌎 is upside down.its disgusting and Dangerous. Lord help us.
@@adriennerobinson1180 But here is the problem the dance hall artists cause this on themselves.
Because the incited the killing of gays, here is the thing Jamaica is not unique that the idea of gay relations is wrong.
There are Approximately 2.38 billion people practice some form of Christianity globally. This means that about one-third of the world's total population is Christian.
And then you have 1.9 billion Muslims so that means most people are not for gay gay relations, some people say America is a batty man country that is wrong.
liberal America is pro batty man conservative America is not for it, each states have their own law, there are 8 states that are very anti batty man, gay people cannot get married in those states.
The state’s sex education program mandates that “classes must emphasize, in a factual manner and from a public health perspective, that homosexuality is not a lifestyle acceptable to the general public and that homosexual conduct is a criminal offense under the laws of the state.”
And that is just Alabama there are 7 more states just like it, so the idea of thinking the gay ting is wrong that is ok, but what the dance hall artists did they crossed the line when they promoted the killing.
It is ok saying that behind closed doors but once you say that in public that's it, Muslims kill gays but they keep quiet about, even here in the UK not every one supports the gay ting.
Plenty feel that it is wrong, but they just let them be, because to mess with them would cause unwanted problem's for that person.
Especially loved the end where he spoke about his parents❤❤
