- Music was something that he always loved and the decision to pursue a professional career in it was a no brainer. He also just happened to be incredibly talented at it too. Especially, song writing. However, the direction that the R&B genre, specifically, ended up going in caused him to rethink everything and decide to hang it up indefinitely. I never forget him coming to a For Sistas Only event in Atlanta. His music wouldn't play right for some reason, Joe said wait a min and in a couple of minutes preformed his songs Acapella. Omg what a treat. Til this day in my mind 2 of his songs were sung directly to me. His eye contact with the crowd was so genuine. Love Joe

He's a household name in my household. People have to do some unsavory stuff to get recognition. I think Joe has been unwilling to sell out in some kind of way, which is why he doesn't get the same attention that some of his peers get. But he is absolutely a legend and a superstar, whether some people want to admit it, or not.

Joe is probably my favourite male vocalist of all time, I've loved him since I was a kid and my mum and big sister were blasting his music. The music business is so ghetto, he deserves the world! Another Used to Be is spiritual for me.
Joe is the only R&B singer who has the most songs I like. I literally need my daily dose of Joe. He's a refreshing black male voice of honor, care, humility and respect for women in his art.
