She and shabba literally brought dancehall to the world pioneers!! Love patra till this day
Agreed
Its a shame how Shabba doesn't get his respect.
She runs a jerk spot in Stony Hill. Went there and the food was scrumptious. She even gave us free soup for waiting for long which wasn't her fault as one had to preorder. We just turned up. She came across as a nice cool person, took pics with us and revealed she's looking to get back into music. Wish her nothing but the best.
What's the name of the jerk spot in Stony Hill?
@@krisbiscuit305 It's called Chateau 7 Gourmet Jerk Centre. She had told me not to do a review as she'll be moving to Hope Road. This was 10 months ago just so you know
Thank you for this update 👍🏾👍🏾
Say word. I heard about her spot, need to check it out next time I'm home. Hope she does come back with some fire chunes😍😍
Been there a number of times. Food is excellent. Patra is a sweet heart.. I love the food.Yummy
Patra is in a league of her own and doesn’t need to compete with anybody. Patra is beautiful and very smart for loving herself first and not trying to please others.
Originally known as Lady Patra in the 80s... B4 Lady Saw, Spice,Shenseea there was Patra... Big time crossover artist in the 90s 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Wrong. Lady Saw also came out in the late 80`s. Patra started in the late 80`s as well but wasn`t really known until 1993 until her first album dropped. Lady Saw was hot instantly when her first album dropped in 1994. Saw brought women`s DeeJay-ing on the map. Patra was the first to try to crossover and add rap with Reggae though.
@@amck72 lady saw first album was 1993/94
@@tytyroberts7137 I don't know why the heck I said 87' for her first album. 😂 I meant to say 94' cause I remember when I bought her album.
Patra is literally a Queen! She is a forever baddie!
@@Janayjanay1989 I know I was in awe when I saw her as a little girl I thought she was gorgeous I wanted to have some short shorts like hers I already had the braids my mom said no.
@@Janayjanay1989 her outfits can still be recreated and modernized they are iconic .
4 EVER
@@musiclover-cn7tb Honestly. That was the best thing that could have happened to you, but you may not have thought so at the time.
The whole Industry is sick.
Trust me.
Stay blessed. 🇯🇲
Yes 👍🏽
She's still a beauty. Also, I so relate to her statement about wanting to deny people of her past access to her. Peace of mind over everything!
‘Romantic call’ is one of my forever jams 💃🏾
So glad to see Patra looking and doing well in her life. More love ❤️ to her! xo 😚
I'm Guyanese and when I was younger ( 90s) I could remember Patra being banned from my country( Guyana) because she was considered back then to be "too sexual" when it comes to her performances I love her till this day
Nah not true, it was a personal thing some people from Guyana thought it was sexualized. This song used to be a jam in Guyana, especially in clubs. I remember going to club embassy in the 90's jamming to this.
@@johns2922 playing the song is different from a live performance
I remember hearing about that. Certain songs she couldn't perform live & my mum wouldn't let me do ALL the dances like the butterfly on the floor "👀where you learn that from?" 😂🤦🏾♀️

I agree
He's still going strong I think he released an album in 2019 if not 2020
@@darrylcarter3691 oh my goodness I agree I love him I listened to his song groovin' in the midnight on repeat the other morning his music is such a mood.
@@eustacekaputula3594 he did it was nominated for a Grammy too.
🎶I just wanna be close to yooou!🎶
I can remember all of the words of that song to this day because my mother had his album on cassette tape and she kept that song on repeat 😂
Patra is still beautiful, just ageless!
Naw she is not
She doesn't look healthy to me
She looks Sicky ..she might just be vegan now ..
@Corelle She actually looks way older than I thought she was.

Patra is an undeniable dancehall queen 👸🏿. Thanks for this much needed update.
She’s so pretty her skin is so flawless
she sure is💖
Gorgeous 😍
Extremely beautiful woman. I love all her music. Romantic call, Queen of the pack, Worker man, Dip and fall back, etc
Yes Patra is one of the artists I requested. Thank you for doing what happened to Patra? Love her albums and I still listen to them constantly. She is talented! The one and only Queen of the Dancehall Patra!
So glad I saw this tonight. It's been on my mind to find info about this LADY. Thank you for the UPDATE. Glad to know she is in control of her life and doing as she pleases. Would love to see her do a SPECIAL APPEARANCE ON A SHOW WITH SHABBA RANKS. I LOVE TO WATCH THEIR STAGE PERFORMANCES AND VIDEOS.
She’s such a beautiful woman, she’s just striking at any age. I see the new look as her going more into Grace Jones mode, and she will be working her brand.
Never forget when Kenan and Kel were singing the song Dip and Fall Back on the first episode of Kenan and Kel when they wanted to buy a car
Ohh I don’t remember this.....you say this is season 1 episode 1?! I’d love to see this!!
Yup I remember!! 😂😂😂😂
@@beemocha Damn they must’ve have deleted that part, as I just watched it online & the song was different 😒
@@MIMI232 I defo would remember if that was in it but watching Nickelodeon in London 🇬🇧 might be different.
Do you remember her on Zig & Zag (Saturday morning kids show)
Romantic Call video is still a classic video because of the 2Pac cameo appearance RIP 2Pac
That was a jam
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿💎 👑
I like all of Patra's videos. She was a favorite of mine, great to see an update and what she is doing today!
Yup bad chune dat to date!!!!
"because of 2pac cameo" Lol, please
Patra was a solid act. A flickering flame that burned out too soon. But what a flame she was at her prime. Fierce, fiery, electric and intense. I always felt she had so much more to give. Plus shih ah Westmahlan' gyal. Mih love mih native sistah dem. One love farrevah!
She looks amazing. I loved her when I was younger
I met Patra in Florida during FAMU homecoming.
She was very personable.
The first thing I noticed was skin. It was absolutely perfect!
Back then, the butterfly dance was really popular!
She was way more pretty in person. She could have been a actress.

Who's Laura?
My Jamaican Queen!😊
Wow 🤩 I never knew Grace Jones was Jamaican 🇯🇲
I did she was gorgeous and she still is nobody else could have played strange.
I love Grace Jones, now I gotta go watch Boomerang. Btw, Pastor Noel is her brother. He used to be on a Television show: Pastors of LA.
Yup yup 😌
How couldn't you know.. She always talks about Jamaica
I didn't either
In the mid 90s patra had a condo in downtown Miami and my bro-in law was her security, so I had the pleasure of chillin at her condo wit her and her close friends. And she is absolutely one of the sweetest most down to earth celebrities you could ever meet.always wondered what happened to her after those couple of years here.MUCH LOVE PATRA!! 💕💕
One of the 90s, great and original artist. She gave a breath of fresh air to music
She was the 💎Queen of the Dancehall👸🏾 before Lady Saw💃🏾 but now Spice has brought Dancehall back to the mainstream 💙 #GoDownDeh🇯🇲
Point of correction:she is,not she was,cuz i don't what the newbies are doing today!
@Aton Freckleton I did some research before tryin to reply.it is really sad that dancehall doesn't respect its pioneers.well or maybe it is because i'm a classic man.
Word
@Aton Freckleton and now lady saw is a minister. She's moved on to a different path also.
I admire how she spoke up for herself and declined the offer of the PTB.u a all time champion in my book.going back to your roots was something many artist are saying they love but afraid to really go to. U a true role model.💌💌💌
Baby when I tell you Black don't crack. Patra looks amazing.
It cracks when life has battered and broken ys sou my dear.Patra has a charmed life it helps
Yeah I remember her when I was a child growing up watching her videos on “the box” video channel. Those of us of a certain age remember “ the box” lol
Patra is still beautiful and strong!! She is an inspiration!!😊
Yes her voice is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡️
"Queen of the park" Love from Nigeria!
Patra brings back beautiful memories; like they say, "how time flies" but yet, it only feels like yesterday.
6:22 Even her normal talking voice is mesmerizing 😍
I forgot about Worker Man. That was my sooong lol 💃🏾💃🏾
💯🔥
I know!!!.. straight up forgot about that 1
I was her body guard when Patra, Shabba and Born Jamericans played in Peoria to start the concert tour. Patra and the background dancers we're so fit, they could play ping pong with their stomachs!! I fell in love with the guitar player named Colin White! They were awesome. Memories 💖💖💖
Talk about Royal Beauty!!! She was 1 of the GREATEST and inspired many, like Rihanna.
Amazing story on Patra. She got a lot of Reggie dancing songs. What a legend!Im glad she is still doing well.
"Worker Man" Is Still On Heavy Rotation...

She’s so pretty! Her style is still seen today!
Ive always loved and respected her. Much love and respect Patra🌺
I don't know about ya'll, but I'm sad that she went on so many breaks that we lost her artistry and presence while she was in her prime.
Bless up!! I'm so glad to see that Patra is alive, thriving, still beautiful and ever evolving as an artist and pioneering woman! 💖🌹🙌
She’s doing well. I’m really proud of her and her achievements 👍👍👍
My favourite woman dancehall artist 🎨 ❤ go back and listen. First time seeing her but I know a lot of her songs very listenable.
Just a thought, what happened to Chantay Savage? I love her songs and albums. If you can do one on her, I would love this. Thank you!
You know I've often asked that same question. That was a singing scatting sistah right there. I'm a dj in Atlanta that met her in 92 while still living in Los Angeles. She performed at a nightclub that I played at Arena/6655 and blew the house down. At any rate I put in a call to Steve "Silk" Hurley which he produced her for years through an old dj coworker of mine at the end of last year and never got an update. Thanks for the mention and now I'll reach back out today for an update!!!!!

😳 THAT’S WHERE THE BUTTERFLY CAME FROM!!!!!!!
FINALLY!!!! I was wondering where this sensuous Queen went......
Big up mi likkle country Jamaican 🇯🇲 to di world ‼️
She was a huge part of our childhood 💗
She is so beautiful, I used to study her dance videos in the early 90s lol
The original Dancehall Queen.
She's truly a champ
She is beyond beautiful, used to have the biggest crush on her back in the day.
I wish her all the best she been happy is all I need ❤️✌🏾
I remember when she 1st came out, I was 11. My Mom would RUN to turn off her video when they came on BET because her dance hall style was too “grown”. She was right; but I still snuck to watch 😂
I loved pat always talk about her.
Blessed love empress, I to was one of your fan,may life takes journeys, so give thanks you are still here with us,guidance to you.one love.
I used to be obsessed w/ this woman. She always had the best dances and my lil' friends and I would do them. It's one thing to do the Butterfly and the Tick-Tock and the Hydraulics, but if you could do the one-legged Butterfly, you were extra dope. I love her debut LP entitled "Queen of the Pack." My favorite ended up being a cut entitled "Sexual Feeling" feat. Christopher Williams.
She is so dam beautiful. Always had been. Thank you queen for gracing us with your presence.
So glad she took time off for her own mental and physical health and to do things the right way. I see so much growth here.
Patra is part of my youth, I saw her live at the San Juan amphitheatre in 🇵🇷, good times
If Shabba Ranks is the Emperor of dancehall, then Patra is the Empress!
I love her!! She was amazing. 💛💛
My mother brought me her debut album on cassette tape and I wore it out!
Thanks for this video. I often wondered what happened to her. She was a big part of my love for reggae music.
I was never more in love with anyone than I was with Patra! 🥰🥰🥰
When I tell my island friends they don’t know her it makes me so mad
I use to love me some Patra when I was younger (90s) Beautiful and Talented I always wondered what happened to her a forever baddie in my opinion
The journey has ended. Patra has found herself ! Respect. TRINIDAD & TOBAGO.
