    Wisconsin tech checking in. I was looking at a few videos on these leveling kits before I tackle the job on my own Ram. Just a bit of advice for people stuck, trying to get ball joints separated. They do make kits to get loose fairly easy. BUT...u don't need it! If u have equipment like the gentleman in the video, then I'd assume u have a compressed air supply. With that being said... Invest in an air hammer! Get the pickle fork attachment. Thank me later!
    *Before u even get to air hammer status... Invest in sum PB blaster and sum MAP gas. Spray everything the day before u do the job(or a couple hours prior at least). Get sum aluminum foil and wrap the boot of the ball joint. Don't torch it...but carefully heat around the contact area. CAREFULLY I said! Get it hot....then spray it heavy! The heat will draw the penetrant inside the stuck part. Hit it. Repeat of necessary. Dun. This method works on anything rusted or seized!

    The proper way to measure the ride height is to measure from the "middle of the center cap to the wheel arch". That way the ride height difference is shown regardless of tire diameter.

    Just seeing the video, and I noticed you never took the tension off the control arms that’s why it wouldn’t budge. However, I like how you admitted you were frustrated 😁

    Thanks for the video. I just got a black Friday 2021 Laramie, and yes it has to have a leveling kit and some kind of aggressive tires.
    Yours turned out awesome.
    I'm so glad you showed the issue with getting it apart.
    I put a 3" lift by my self on my unlimited. It kicked my ass, but everything came apart and went together without too much issue.
    Leveled my old truck, that I traded for the Ram. It was a 2006 f-150 4x4 xlt. I used Rancho struts. Took 20 minutes each side.
    Most Sincerely,
    Ron.🙂

    Great content bro. I just subscribed to your channel. So I have a few questions. I ordered the rough country M1 leveling shocks (adjustable) . I see you went with a 2.5 in level! If I went with that would it be perfectly level on my ram? Is your? Or do you suggest a 2in? A lot of guys are going with 2.5 in the front these days instead of 2in. Your thoughts?

  • @ryanlittle9968
    @ryanlittle9968 3 года назад +1

    Shoulda measured from the center of the wheel both times. Center of cap.... 1.5" spacer changes the trucks whole geometry therefore making it 2.5"taller only with 1.5" spacer. Pretty sweet though. I'm gonna definitely try to attempt it and not mess the boot up. What did the shop charge for install and do you need an alignment?

      If you want full clearance you can go.max at 3.5" in the front and 2" in the rear before actually having to lift the vehicle, and i would recommend the rough country because they have a decent leveling kit. ( 300.00 top control arm for 3 inch level, the rear n3 shocks 99.00 and the kit level kit is at about 65.00

    You basically did all the work to install a legit coilover kit but cheaped out with spacers. You'll regret using spacers. Terrible for your shocks and cheap junk. Buy pre-assembled coilovers that give you a suspension lift and actually improve the handling of the vehicle. Bilstein 6112 or Fox 2.5s
