@@RatchetWrenches Thanks. I have watched just a few videos. The only difference I noticed that you did was.... the top of the spacer, you put the bolt in from the top down. What reason for doing it that way and not bottom up and then nut on top? Great info though.
OneNGlen okay good then you should be set. And personally I just did it that way because that’s how I was taught. But either way will work. It’s still going to secure the spacer.
We did get it aligned, I recommend it due to changing the ride height in the front it can alter the camber, tow and caster. You will need to go to a performance shop if anything because not a lot of shops like to align trucks with bigger tires and leveling kits/lift kits for insurance purposes.
Just curious if anyone else who installed this had the same issue. After having this installed by a local shop, the 2.5 seems to have been slightly to much for the truck to look level. I feel that I should have gone with the 2.0 kit. Currently the front end is slightly higher than the rear. Thanks for any feedback and appreciate the video guys.
Hmm that’s interesting. My truck still sits ever so slightly lower in the front but appears level from a few feet back. Do you have the stock tires or did you upgrade? Also, it may sound stupid but ensure you’re looking at it on a completely flat surface, it can be deceiving if not.
@@RatchetWrenches I did upgrade tires to the duratracs, same size as came stock with my truck. Only thing I could think is that mine is the eco-diesel so maybe the weight of the Hemi offsets it differently. I'll have to check the specs on the weight difference. And I did inspect it on a flat surface as well. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.
Hey man hows are those upper control arms holding up since yall didnt beef them up? I want to level my truck about 2" maybe 2.5 but didnt know if i needed to change the ucas to prevent wear on ball bearing etc
They actually are fine! I went with a pretty tall All Terrain tire so there wasn’t much flex / angle when we let the truck off the jack. If you go with a shorter mud terrain tire with a -44mm off set which is a common set up I think that’s where people run into an issue. I do plan on upgrading the UCA’s and might even do a 3” lift on the truck. Good luck with your build!
@@RatchetWrenches nah see i have a 2017 1500 sport 4x4, i just want to do tires not wheels but i want 35s by 12.5s if i can get away with that width but if not ill do 35s x 11.5s if i cant fot 12s wide but just tires so i didnt know if with just the 2" level it would hold up fine without upgrading the ucas you get what im saying? Thank you! And no to the brake lines, we did get an alignment. It’s not necessary to get an alignment but you should to give the tires even wear and longevity! Tires are ProComp LT305/55R20 and wheels are 20x10’s Motometal’s
@@RatchetWrenches sounds good man, I think I’m gonna put some bilsteins on it with a leveling kit. Just wish I could find an affordable set of 18” to throw on.
Did you have to replace UCA’s after a while? Hearing bad reviews after level. Just wondering I just installed mine from watching your video and love the stance. I figured you would know after having them in a while
I went from a stock ride height to a leveling kit with 33’s so yea I did feel a difference for sure. You feel every bump in the road but on a smooth highway it actually drives very smoothly
This is probably a dumb question but I’ve seen so many conflicting opinions, 2.5 or 2” level? I’ve seen people say 2.5 brings the front higher than the rear and that would bug the hell out of me.
I actually measured it the other day and the front of the truck sits at 39 inches to the bottom of the fender while the rear sits at 40 inches. So it’s not completely level but very close and it’s difficult to tell. 2.5” all the way with a nice set of all terrains in my opinion
Hey man quick question I apparently installed the kit wrong lol the Allen keys on the top instructions say to run them through the bottom of spacer to fit like factory think I’ll be fine leaving it like that? Did yours hold up good?
Just purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 2wd new body style and I plan to put on a 2.5 front leveling kit with 35x12.5 tires on 18x9 wheels! Does anyone have any knowledge as to if this would cause any rubbing? If so what can be done to combat that issue? Also, will I absolutely need to purchase to control arms? And why? (First time truck buyer & first time dealing with large wheels/tires and any type of leveling kit)
Sounds like you have some good plans for it! So I’m running a 33” tire with a -24mm off set with no rub. I’ve heard you can run a 35” tire with some slight rubbing but only at decent turning angles. You can probably get away with this set up without upgrading your UCA’s but I would recommend upgrading them since it’s such a large increase in weight and angle of the tire. I have not upgraded mine but plan on it soon. Hope this helps!
Hi. I have a 2018 and I want to level it. Tires are 17 inch rims from a rebel, tires are Goodyear Duratrac 285/70/17. Do I need to consider any other changes like UCA or shocks with a 2 inch set?
If you have the money I would at least get UCA's, and more heavy duty shocks can never hurt. I ran this set up for a year and a half and about 8 months in the high pitched squealing started. You can run it with just the level kit but from personal experience I would upgrade everything
Thanks man! but yeah everything we read said completely level is the 2.5” and on a flat service which is hard to find but we have one here it’s completely leveled out
@@RatchetWrenches awesome. Thanks!! Being a female, I'm not savvy on the tech part but know how I like my truck to look. Much appreciate the response :)
People say you can fit 35” tires with slight rubbing. I have 33” tires and there is no rubbing but it is very close to the front bumper when making a sharp turn
Hey fellas great video, I recently threw in some 2.5 spacers just like yours ! I put in new Upper Control Arms as well so they weren’t straining the ball joints. I’m wondering if you guys have any issues such as noises, knocking or anything out of the ordinary. Also did you add anything to compliment the spacers ? New shocks/struts, upper control arms etc etc
Thanks appreciate that. I noticed a little while ago a high pitched squeaking noise from the front left wheel. The truck still runs great but I’m going to upgrade my Upper control arms soon. No complimentary upgrades just the leveling kit. I do plan on lifting the truck 3-4” or so maybe next year
@@RatchetWrenches no problem, thanks for the feed back. Yeah I heard if you don’t change the upper control arms you risk putting a lot of strain on the ball joints. No noise when you turn the vehicle though ? Sometimes when I steer left to right and making a turn I hear a very slight popping noise, I’ve gotten the entire suspension checked out so I think it could be something with the steering column?

That UCA looks a bit hyperextended. Did you ever have any problems with that? I want to get a kit on my 2015 1500 but I’ve been told that the UCA could possibly break due to hyperextending the UAC. Any pointers/problems? Thanks fellas!
Haven’t had any issues so far (knock on wood) have heard about the UCA issue tho. Might’ve looked hyper extended because it was very out of alignment and we barely got it off the ground, but it’s been riding awesome so far for a few months.
Well the lift kit you’re actually raising the trucks height and ground clearance. With the leveling kit you’re only raising the front to equal out to the rear. If you plan on going off-road a lift kit would be the right choice, also there’s cheaper kits that are just as good as the $2k ones.
Yeah probably but we didn’t really install a lift kit or anything more just a level kit. Not really to make the tires fit, more just for the appearance since the front always sags more than the rear.
We’re about 2 months in and daily drive it without any noises yet! But Ik a lot of ppl experience issues using the stock UCAs so maybe down the line we might have some noises

@@RatchetWrenches great! thanks for the fast respond. i will be purchasing this for my 2015 ram 1500 today, i believe the tires are out of stock any suggestions on tires less noisy?
Just make sure all your factory wheel specs match the Motometal specs and you'll be okay. I had ProComp AT's and they were great. Have BF Goodrich now and they aren't that noisy either. Any AT tire is going to have some noise to it. Just don't buy MT's if you want a decent ride

Not after the install but after about 10-15,000 miles after I’ve been hearing a squeaking noise so I’m going to upgrade my UCA’s and shocks/struts in the spring most likely. The truck still drives smooth and good
Do you suggest upgrading the upper control arms as well? When putting the levelling kit on? I heard some people say that the 2.5 inch level puts the ball joints at weird position that could possibly cause damage. Thoughts and opinions on this?
This is a highly debated topic. For me personally I did not upgrade the UCAs and upgrade my tire/wheel set up. I believe because the tire was taller there is no flex in the UCA. But on the other hand, If you were to go with a fatter / shorter tire you might run into the issue of having the flex on your UCA. So it really depends but if you want to be safe and have the extra money to spend, go and buy yourself a set! Hope this helps
Ratchet Wrenches thanks for the reply, right now I’m running a 285 70r17 size tire which would be comparable to 33’s do you think that’s enough clearance to not have the UCA’s at a weird angle? Therefore only adding in the leveling kit?
I’m not entirely sure and don’t want to give you a wrong answer but as long as the tire is tall enough you shouldn’t have that flexing issue. I would suggest doing some research online on what set ups people are running
How are 33s massive? Also trucks come stock with the rear higher to account for payload. The hemi is a light engine. That's not the reason why the front is lower. And stock rims are the same quality as the "fake crap" rims you put on.
If you look at instructions bolt are supposed to be fed into the spacer upwards and tightened prior to install then use nuts to secure to frame support.
idk if you fixed it after the video but you need to put the threaded bolts in the spacer before it gets mounted on the strut
That's right i just did mine and you have to tread the bolts in the spacer 😂
😂 I was about to say it.
For anyone else doing this in the future, please consider upgrading your Upper Control Arm as well for the appropriate sized lift height. Using the stock arm will have a more aggressive angle on the ball joint causing accelerated wear.

People online say you can fit 35’s with minimal rubbing. I have 33’s with zero rubbing issues
Hey guys nice video. I'm up here in Canada. I wanna get the same lift and tires. I think mine are 265/70/17 stock ram 1500 2016 . What size Rims and tires do I get . The size you have on here is what I'd like to get . Thanks
Thank you! My set up is LT305/55R20 AT ProComp Tires and 20x10 MotoMetal 962 Wheels. I’m not entirely sure what size set up you should run with the 17” wheel but I would definitely do your research and look on forums it took me a while to find the exact set up of what works for me! Good luck !
Good tutorial here. I am doing this exact lift this weekend.
Thank you! But yeah If you have any problems or questions feel free to ask us
@@RatchetWrenches Thanks.
@@RatchetWrenches Awesome. Thanks for the response. I will follow up here after my install. Thanks for doing the video.
OneNGlen you’re welcome! And okay sounds like a plan. Please help us out by subscribing !
Do you/should you have to get an alignment after? If so, was there any issues with the ship aligning your truck?
We did get it aligned, I recommend it due to changing the ride height in the front it can alter the camber, tow and caster. You will need to go to a performance shop if anything because not a lot of shops like to align trucks with bigger tires and leveling kits/lift kits for insurance purposes.
@@RatchetWrenches got it. Thanks. Great video. I plan on getting this kit in the next few weeks
I seen mines only a 2in level so hopefully no crazy angles on the UCA
As long as your tire is tall enough it should be fine. I ran stock UCA's for over a year then upgraded
What exhaust set up are you running? It sounded nice on least cold start.
Thanks it’s a MBRP 2.5” XP Catback
👍👍 great job explaining every detail.

Cause like if i can save money thatd be great but if its going to ruin my truck i rather spend the dough now you know
Why wouldn’t you use a strut compressor to install, would be so much easier
Didn’t have one on hand unfortunately but either way works. Yeah for sure it wouldve been easier
Nice looking truck. Did you end up having to get longer brake lines for the front and a wheel alignment and are those tires 33x12.5x20 ?
Thank you! And no to the brake lines, we did get an alignment. It’s not necessary to get an alignment but you should to give the tires even wear and longevity! Tires are ProComp LT305/55R20 and wheels are 20x10’s Motometal’s
@@RatchetWrenches anytime you touch the suspension or alter anything it is most certainly necessary for a alignment pal
Thanks for the video, if my ram has over 140k miles should I just replace the struts while I have them out?
You're welcome! And depends when they were last replaced but if it's been a while and you have the money to do it I'd say go for it
@@RatchetWrenches sounds good man, I think I’m gonna put some bilsteins on it with a leveling kit. Just wish I could find an affordable set of 18” to throw on.
Nice but you need to upgrade all your lights to LEDs.
We filmed a video of us doing that as well. Went with Headlight Revolution
Did yall add any spacers, if so can you post the link to those as well. Thank you!
No spacers needed!
@Ratchet Wrenches Ok thanks for letting me know. Are the wheel sizes 20×12 and tire sizes 33×12.50?
What exhaust do you have that baby sounds nice!
Thanks it’s an MBRP exhaust
How are you sway bar links doing.
Holding up fine, we did need to upgrade the UCA’s tho
What’s your exhaust setup
MBRP 2.5" XP CATBACK
Its been a year or so; how are those sway bar links doing? Did you have to end up lowering your sway bar?
Truck still rides fine. Probably gonna be upgrading the UCA’s and other suspension components soon though
@@RatchetWrenches is it riding like crap with the stock uca’s?
@@northjerseygiants9201 ^^^
Did you have to replace UCA’s after a while? Hearing bad reviews after level. Just wondering I just installed mine from watching your video and love the stance. I figured you would know after having them in a while
We haven’t replaced the UCA’s yet and the ride quality is great. But thank you yes the stance is awesome
Ratchet Wrenches I thank you guys for all your help
You’re welcome
Did you notice any different in the ride?
You need some led lighting will look great
We actually made a video of installing LEDs i have them as well as fog lights
Hey man quick question I apparently installed the kit wrong lol the Allen keys on the top instructions say to run them through the bottom of spacer to fit like factory think I’ll be fine leaving it like that? Did yours hold up good?
Never had any issues with mine!
@@RatchetWrenches preciate it man have to wait a couple days to get it aligned hopefully it holds up till then lol
Is the only lift on your truck just the front leveling kit? It looks great
Thank you! And yeah just front spacers for the lift. Eventually I will probably do a 3” lift and upgrade all the suspension too
Thanks! Do you think it’s 100% necessary to replace the UCA’s after you lift the front end 2.5?
I am still running stock UCA’s and have been daily driving since we installed them with no issues so no
What exactly do you have going on withy he exhaust? I’m trynna have my truck sound just like that. Thank you
MBRP catback. Well worth the money it wakes up the Hemi engine completely and sounds amazing
Now that the truck is leveled, the 33" tires look tiny.
I wouldn't say tiny, I think they fit the truck nicely. You can definitely fit 35's in there but it'll be tighter
Hey bud when you installed your bigger tires did you have to adjust your speedometer?
Nope no need to adjust
what exhaust is that sounds great
Thank you! It’s an MBRP exhaust. ruclips.net/video/ADfr6lRamh0/видео.html if you want to hear it more
Looks great. I have 35's in my ram. Want to level it out. Is 2.5" the actual difference between front and rear on a stock ram?
Thanks man! but yeah everything we read said completely level is the 2.5” and on a flat service which is hard to find but we have one here it’s completely leveled out
@@RatchetWrenches awesome. Thanks!! Being a female, I'm not savvy on the tech part but know how I like my truck to look. Much appreciate the response :)

@@RatchetWrenches any the of rub a full lock?
Could you have put bigger rims and tires on there or is that the max size?
@@RatchetWrenches what type of upper control arms would you be installing?
@@Stapeezy sorry for the late reply but nope no noise when turning the vehicle. Could be a number of things unfortunately that's the fun of diagnosing problems. Good luck with it!
@@frederickortiz6968 I've heard Zone and ReadyLift are good brands, still not sure what brand I will go with but we'll probably have a video coming somewhat soon on this.
awesome what are the rim off sets? or are there spacers?
Thank you! And they are 33's with a -24mm offset, no spacers.
I have had my ram leveled for over 3 years know on the stock upper control arm and haven’t had any problems
So what is the difference between a 2000.00 lift kit and 200.00 leveling kit as far as off road goes?
Well the lift kit you’re actually raising the trucks height and ground clearance. With the leveling kit you’re only raising the front to equal out to the rear. If you plan on going off-road a lift kit would be the right choice, also there’s cheaper kits that are just as good as the $2k ones.
I did mine too but since i installed the leveling kit now it’s started vibrating when I hit a 100 kmp. I don’t what is the problem
Vibration could be a number of things not just related to this kit. I'd start diagnosing the easy stuff first and making sure all bolts are tight
Okay. But your shocks are stock right? Cause some people told that I have to change my Stock shocks.
Great job guys! What’s your wheels offset?
Thanks appreciate it! Offset is -24mm, fits the truck perfectly
What exhaust do you have? Sounds great!
MBRP catback, thanks!
Any issues with your Uca yet after install?
None so far nope!
Ratchet Wrenches one more thing. Have you had any problems using your 4wd with the 2.5 inch level?
curious what the height of each end of the truck is after the level? Mine sits about .5" higher in the front and I thought it would be more...level
My front end is at 39” and the rear end is at 40” so my front end is slightly lower.
@@RatchetWrenches thanks
Did you do wheel alignment afterwards?
I brought it to a shop after to have the truck aligned yep.
I love the truck
Thank you!
Looks good but those 33s wouldve fit fine without a lift
Yeah probably but we didn’t really install a lift kit or anything more just a level kit. Not really to make the tires fit, more just for the appearance since the front always sags more than the rear.
Im running 285/60/20 on my stock height ram 😂
Looks good.
Thank you!
Ima need yall to do mine next WOW!!
Haha thanks yeah it’s a night and day difference
Did you have any noise issues from this install? just wondering from others experiencing it.
We’re about 2 months in and daily drive it without any noises yet! But Ik a lot of ppl experience issues using the stock UCAs so maybe down the line we might have some noises
the link you put up for the wheels are for a 6 lugs you have a 5 lug? I'm confused, almost bought the wrong bolt pattern based on the link you provided
The wheels I have are meant to be interchangeable and can function on both it's not vehicle specific
@@RatchetWrenches thanks!! what about the MBRP S5084409 T409 Dual Split Exhaust System 3 inch you have, will that same one fit my Ram? Amazon says no, i have a 2015 ram 1500 express quad cab hemi 5.7 please point me in the right direction. yours sounds awesome!!!!
Did the top of your struts start squeaking after install
Not after the install but after about 10-15,000 miles after I’ve been hearing a squeaking noise so I’m going to upgrade my UCA’s and shocks/struts in the spring most likely. The truck still drives smooth and good
Did you need new upper control arms to get an alignment?
I didn't nope. We ended up buying new UCA's and all new Eibach suspension we have a new video on that
So I’m better off doing UCA right away too? I have the spacer blocks but I “read” a lot of bad reviews saying the top ball joint will break
Ratchet Wrenches
thanks for the reply, right now I’m running a 285 70r17 size tire which would be comparable to 33’s do you think that’s enough clearance to not have the UCA’s at a weird angle? Therefore only adding in the leveling kit?
I’m not entirely sure and don’t want to give you a wrong answer but as long as the tire is tall enough you shouldn’t have that flexing issue. I would suggest doing some research online on what set ups people are running
How much you get that leveling kit?
eloc rivera it was around $80
You paid too much I just put the two and a half inch kit undermine and it was $57
Pop Wall this was also a while ago when we bought it, an I mean $80 isn’t much so I’m not too worried about it. Yeah $57 is nice but it is what it is
What are you doing with the oem wheels? Are they for sale?
I already sold them
Any rubbing issues with the 33's?
No actually it’s perfect clearance!
I have 33s on my ram and it does not rub....im getting leveling kit for sure looks nice
my old 2010 bighorn and current 2017 longhorn came with 275/60r20s which is basically a 33x11
Did your truck have air suspension?
No I didn't
How are 33s massive? Also trucks come stock with the rear higher to account for payload. The hemi is a light engine. That's not the reason why the front is lower. And stock rims are the same quality as the "fake crap" rims you put on.
They aren’t that big nope. And I could careless what you think about the wheels on my own truck haha.
Dude your ram looks bad ass! Inspiring what size is offset?
Thanks Wilbert and it’s -24mm offset
What's on that truck for exhaust? Sounds wicked.
