Absolutely!!!!
That term is being used a lot lately. A man killed 8 people. When the police had to talk to the public about the whole thing he said " the young man was having a bad day " 😣
yeah, but that's true for anyone. taking responsibility means he probably wants to learn from the mistake. condemning him might replace him with someone's whos better at causing problems and blaming others.
They're humans too. They have to deal with a lot a messed up people and idiots so has its consequences.

I was surprised to hear that he was suspended WITHOUT pay. They’d usually are suspended with pay, which amounts to nothing more than a vacation.
Which still doesn’t amount to anything really, since he probably picked up some shifts working security for events that week.
You make a good point. Kill an unarmed man and you get a paid vacation. Lose your temper when no one is hurt and your pay is docked. Both warrant losing pay. If you are cleared of any crime or malfeasance, then you can receive back pay.
Generally Police Departments will place officers on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. At which time if the officer is found liable they can officially discipline. Very rare for a Department to suspend an officer before the outcome of an investigation is revealed.

They call this spoliation of evidence , and it only seem to happen what there is a dispute and it's may not be in the officers favor , The DA , just plays dumb , and the insurance company , pats them on the back for avoiding a law suit . and the officer gets promoted , see how that works .

Many times we think cops are shooting an unarmed civilians we find out when the whole story comes out they weren't unarmed. Not always but the majority of the time. 2019 there were 9 unarmed black people shot by cops. And 19 unarmed white people shot by cops and killed. If cops can use the excuse that "its a bad day" to justify their behavior, then how are we, as the public, supposed to know which cop is having a bad day whenever we encounter them? We should assume that all cops are having a bad day so that we can protect ourselves from their misconduct, lack of professionalism, or unjustified abuse. That's why we always need to record cops.

So if you do something out of line or break the law and you say you were having a bad day, we should just forgive you because you're not a cop? All they did was exchange words. If it had gone beyond a spoken confrontation, I could understand the suspension. It started with an argument. All that was needed was to put the two of them together again and let them work it out. The driver seemed like a reasonable guy, if the officer apologized he probably would have just let it go.

The problem isn't the incident, it's the "what are you going to do about it attitude" that the MAJORITY of police have.
especially when these 'licensed killers' are the ones writing up police reports and making the narrative of those reports reflect negatively on those they are policing and favorably upon them as 'just doing their job'.

No, at that moment you were not "an emergency vehicle," as you had no emergency. You can't use your lights in a non emergency situation in that vehicle. You can not speed in a non emergency situation in that vehicle, and you most definitely can not almost hit someone in that vehicle.

2. I am actually surprised he was held accountable. 10 day suspension for a less than professional verbal altercation is impressive
