Some departments don't have an academy. My academy was 966 hours 30 years ago, and it's only increased. Get this. It takes 1900 hours to get a beautician license and less than 1000 hours to become a cop in a major metropolitan city. Many of these podunk departments don't have an actual academy. Some may have a class time of 40, 50, or 60 hours. Judging by the way she keeps her hair, and the fact that she's wearing a uniform for a deposition, speaks volumes of her training and department procedures.

Besides her lying and not knowing anything about the law she is supposed to uphold and needing to be fired. Her horrible, destructive, reckless driving (hitting a mailbox, hitting a cement box, hitting another police car, and reckless driving - popping a tire missing a stop sign), her driver's license needs to be revoked for life. If she were held financially accountable for the repairs, her driving might improve.
And the tax payers pay for the vehicle and fuel that she is issued, to drive it to and from home, off duty. Simply put WHY? That option increases the risk exponentially.

Well, I don't really need to do much in order to take it up a notch and turn it into a felony stop. All I have to do is say that I thought that they might possibly maybe perhaps conceivably or imaginably or just so happen to perchance or as the case may be could reasonably have a weapon; then I bolster my justification by using the word "furtive" 2 or 3 times. That automatically makes it a felony stop. It just depends whether I want to do a regular stop or if I'm hopped up and want to do a felony stop. And that's policy. I don't remember my training, but I do know a policy or two.
20+ years on the job, and I can still give a breakdown of my FTO training. It's not something you forget, especially after just 2.5 yrs on the job🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️

I must not be watching the same video or haven’t watched that part. I’m 3/4 in and when they are running the tags for a felony stop & haven’t seen or heard her saying anything incorrect at this time. Apparently the traffic stop turned into a felony stop on the way the driver was behaving in the vehicle. I’ll come back after watching all of the video.

Despite this deposition giving an insight to the militarized type of training and the lack of intelligence of the recruits, I come to realize that the state will give anyone a gun and a badge. This particular interview difficult to watch.

De-Escalation is a method to prevent potential violence. Individuals are encouraged to use purposeful actions, verbal communications, and body language to calm a potentially dangerous situation. Your safety and the safety of others is the highest priority.
