Excellent video. I just bought a 2010 q5 w/ 110k miles and the previous owner had simply cut the loose fabric and removed it entirely. So I would like to replace the shade. This tutorial will come in handy.
Very descriptive video! Thank you for the upload. I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to do this and unfortunately others on youtube just aren't as detailed as yours.
I just ordered the part around the time this was uploaded. Good timing. Good video. Even if the shots aren't perfect, at least they show a general direction
I’m so amazed that you and your son replaced the shade. Mine is hanging down on one side and won’t retract without bunching up. Idk if I’m brave enough to replace it myself. Well done! 👍🏼 I was hoping it just came loose on the one side but ? It looks tricky to remove inside parts. Shewww
You can do it, its not too bad. Just got to be patient and willing to deal with broken plastic clips here and there. A second pair of hands is certainly helpful, but not required.

Thanks for the comment, and good luck!

Best video ever! Thanx for the effort!
Thank you

Any follow up on how you all ended up cleaning up all the upholstery?
Haven't got to it yet, but thanks for the comment. ChrisFix has a great video on cleaning headliners and that's what we plan to follow!
