    Nice vid! Quick tip: crack open your fill plug before draining--imagine not being able to fill your transmission w/no fluid in it?

    • @rolandm9750
      @rolandm9750 Год назад +7

      Really surprised that wasn't part of the video. Thought the exact same thing--always crack the fill plug first, then the drain. If there's a problem with getting the fill plug out you'll be in for a lot of headaches if you drained it first.

    • @mk_ultrarunner

    When filling the transmission fluid temp needs to be between 86°-122°F/30-50C to get the correct level. The proper procedure is to fill it as much as it will take cold, then crank the car, shift it and let it run, pump maybe 3-4 more quarts in then wait for the trans fluid temp to get between that range, then fill the rest till it runs out. Not adhering to the temp range you run the risk of under or overfilling it if you just guess.

    • @mk_ultrarunner

    All your videos are super helpful. Question: it looks like the old bolts were used to reinstall the x brace. 90Nm + 90 or 130 degrees implies they should be replaced if removed as they have already been stretched? Also, it would be nice to have the torque specs for the non-face lift model.

      If you have the money, do it. Dont follow what they say. They say an oil change every 15000km here, we all know that we should do it at 8k but people buy them new and do the less amount of maintenance and trade them 4 years after so they dont care, now they all have oil consumption problems. I would say, change it and you'll be secure about the fluid being effective.
