Our mother Rosalia Moenkedick(Rose) came over from Germany after the war and ended up working at Morleys for a few years. Unlike the ladies interviewed she ended up marrying a Polish soldier , Lucyan Pachulicz(Lou). He worked at Morgreen Colliery. After I was born they sold their car and used the money for a deposit on a miners row house-24 Burns St. The English weather was not good for her health, that and a desire to get her husband out the mines led them to migrate to Australia in January 1965 with their 3 children; me(Ralph), Steve and Carla. She often spoke fondly of her time at Morleys and how welcoming the people were. They had wonderful time in Australia(Whyalla and then Adelaide), but the time always comes and dad(96 years) died last year followed a few weeks later by our mum(89 years) Ralph Pachulicz
