@@Speakzzzdid he say the number one or the best on whole universe .so what what other drumline you know that is better than them look at the choreography and formation some drumline didn't do most of that and also the sync they all done it correctly just so clesn no clunging or shaking in drums or bumpbing if you talking about the sound it's sound good too can you even play it? I've been into DBC
Was lucky enough to see that performance live. No wonder they are the ONLY non-military group invited to play at the Edinburgh Tattoo. Remarkable stuff!
A few civilian pipe bands have made it to Edinburgh. The New Zealand Invercargille and Caledonian pipe bands have been a part of the massed pipes and drums. In otherwords if you are good enough group you can make it to the Tattoo.
I just watched that and if I watched it again 50 times, I don't think I'd be able comprehend all of what was going on there! I've been playing the drums for well over 50 years and I still can't get my eye to catch all of what my ears are hearing. The Bass Drummers are incredible as well. They work so perfectly in sync that they get some of the coolest drum rolls from those things with only the use of a single left or right hand movement. However, the other bass drum players are each doing the same thing but at precisely a beat before, or after. The result is some very cool drum rolls that would be difficult with two hands by one drummer, let alone, one hand by many! Just OUTSTANDING! My wife was an Aggie graduate and used to love to go see the drum core exhibitions. I wish she was alive to see this one. It would have certainly been the best she's ever seen, I'm sure. Rich
In a swiss military orchestra Drums are always in the first line. The Drums and the fifres (flute) were the instrument of our ancestor mercenary, the swiss mercenaries were the only "army" who played music in battles.
+Sirijan Wittmer; Only army? Rubbish! The Scottish regiments always marched into battle with the pipe-bands leading. Napoleon was reported to fear them the most since his men didn't always stand firm awaiting their nerve-racking approach which could be heard 30 miles away getting nearer and nearer at the 'quick march' step. Please detail the famous battles where Swiss mercenaries played any significant role. Defending the Pope in Rome hardly counts. You are watching the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Didn't you know that during the Tattoo, pipe bands from every corner of the world are honouring the enduring musical influence of the fearsome Scottish warriors?
GSSkipper I mean in central Europe a long time ago. The time before Napoleon and all of those stuff. when the Olds kings of France were afraid of the swiss mercenary. The Flags, The drums and the fifres are in our traditions. Sure it's not very know because people don't have interest in the Switzerland culture.
A long time ago? Perhaps we could include the time when the Romans, at the height of their power throughout Europe, sent an army to invade and conquer Scotland. It vanished with not one survivor. The Romans then built two walls to try to keep the Scots from invading England. Also, if you saw Mel Gibson's film 'Brave Heart' (95% true), you will have witnessed the defeat of a large English army by the Scots for the fist time after 300 years of almost total European dominance.
The choreography, the discipline, and the absolute attention to the finest detail, added up to perfection (even with the dropped drumstick). Loved it. Could watch them for hours! ❤️
Wow, it must be difficult to keep a drum corp Top Secret. Where do they practice? What do they tell people they are doing with bulky drums and fancy outfits? I must know.
Fantastic!!!! Everyone who played drums knows how important coordination is, but these are many, many levels above the usual ..... thanks to you all the great drummers in this youtube video, with high regard
Top Secret takes no prisoners. They have what it takes to make their audience their fans want more. Not just showmanship and cool moves they display those drum sounds that are clean accurate and all of their shows have a beginning a middle thats adds and adds and then for the grand finale they provide solid musicianship. Like them or Not I would really vote them as the most entertaining drum line out there.
Love these guys so much! I saw them on the final performance, which was a completely clean performance with no dropped sticks at all! And it was a slightly different routine, probably because they had no cameramen at all on the ground which made it easier for them to spread out.
Its a very top notch fancy version of army cadets, drill lines and marching are basic and they get "drilled" into their head until its second nature, the drumming is a whole other story
I've been around drum lines since 1958, and this is the most ( excuce me) fucking unbelievable thing I have ever witnessed. the part where it looked like they turned their sticks into fifes is just just I don't know. I can't find a word, whatever is more awesome than awesome itself. that's how I would describe top secret. TOP SECRET!!!
ShutuP ! There I a video of top secrecy doing a drum line battle with the blue devils drum line, and in that you can clearly how much worse the devil drum line is compared to professionals
Such a outstanding performance by a world-class renowned drum team. Their new uniforms were absolutely spot on and they looked so professionally as new role models. #Amazing #Outstanding #Wow-Factor Congratulations!! #TeamTSDC
The Dick Tracy fedoras were a fail..... women's fashion from the beginning late 1880's. Prince Edward of Wales first made them popular with males in 1920s. Then prohibition gangsters wore them. Far from 1490s clothing attires.
Their show reminds me of the Marines from Henderson Hall's sword show at Torchlight Tattoo on the tidal basin in Washington, DC. Such a tight group! Not only is their drumming close to absolute perfection, their theatrics are charming and unique! Their fife playing's not half bad either. I would've given my eye teeth to see this show live. Absolutely phenomenal!!!!
Fantastic performance. Precision. Class. And the stick swapping was excellent. I'm calling this to the attention of friends who will appreciate what it takes to pull together a performance like this.
Absolutely amazing! ......Watching the Top Secret Drum Corps from Switxerlan I felt totally ‘hypnotised’ such skill and discipline and as they perform they just get better.....WOW!
They put the "close" in close order drill... with drums. Astounding choreography. God only knows how many hours of practice it takes, to reach this level of precision...
I was at one of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo performances that year - I don't know whether this was recorded the day I was there, but given how precise these lads are it'd be too hard to tell the difference!
Oh! I wish I could see a performance like this one day not to mention the whole Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle - would be amazing- doubt it will happen for me at my age and a few health issues but one can dream about seeing it live 🥰👍🏻🇦🇺
you people are brilliant......I go to your presentations about once every month......just to get charged up for my day..........congratulations to your vigor and dedication.................wonderful.......come to Canada?
I loved the desplay most certinly indeed- and the Ivory drum sticks with the mettle in the middle caught me by suprize happlt so though. Its a good one💪
Top Secret Drum Corp are one of the best bands ever even though never saw them play but love listening to their music and they are good talented musicians
EVERY time I see a performance, I'm STILL impressed by it. Timing, precision, EVERYTHING is just perfect.
Eh not the best drum line on the planet. But man that was a technically challenging book they had

It would be sacrilege not to invite them. The exhibition of discipline, training and talent is every bit the equal of any military band.

funny since no one from this band is in the military
