That. Was. Awsome! Wish there were more things like this in high school and college. Learn the classics, but also do fun things. A neighbor kid that lived across the street from where I used to live had a garage band. One of his friends could double-finger the Thunderstruck intro.
Watching this tells me one thing, we as people need to work the same way these instruments are working....all working together to create something amazing.
🤟 8 years later and it can only continue to inspire. Young adults now(vs teens then) they have moved onto the riggers of making ends meet in a job someplace. But this memory will live forever in those that were fortunate to have witnessed the talent brought together here.

the first time i heard this played, if i remember it was played live in a club and it was amazing....no AC/DC but a very good band who did not adulterate the music. hearing this sort of brings it all back...good times way back when
I'm aware. I have played in quite a few marimba ensembles myself. That still doesn't change the fact that this was too slow. The original piece from AC/DC runs at a steady 133 bpm, which makes it lively and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This cover was dragging its ass along the pavement, sinking as low as 125 bpm at times. I play a lot of instruments, but my main call in life is as the drummer. The last decade of me playing drums, has taught me that the number one important thing in any song, is keeping the tempo right. This ensemble did not manage to do that, even though the thought was spot on.

Yeah, the glockenspiel would get off every now and again, and the boards had issues staying together. I the guitars would go in between staying with the groove and just doing there own things. And while it is hard to play marimba fast, it is still necessary for a song like this.

I just came across this. I know a little about music. The naysayers only know how to promote negativity. I'll leave that right there! These beautiful children worked so very hard to arrive on this stage. And what a wonderful job they did. Left me smiling and applauding.
So I am running through a cemetery (no idea why) at about 3:30 in the morning and my head strikes a low branch causing me to fall through a tarp and into an empty grave. As I see the cartoon stars encircling my head, I feel myself slipping out of consciousness, while simultaneously hearing this musical piece. Then I slip from this world into one arranged by David Lynch, Rod Serling and Roger Waters... When my lights come back on, it is morning and the this track is still playing. The worst isn't over because once the headache sets in Ministry will take the stage inside my head and I will truly be thunderstruck.
Not the best adaptation I’ve seen, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It shows two key things: 1. Creativity and passion for music, regardless of “format” or “style”. 2. How amazing a piece of music “Thunderstruck” really is. It’s not just a hard rock classic, it’s great music, no mater how you deliver it. It will be the AC/DC tune that long outlives all others.

This just demonstrates you can’t tie music down, you can interpret music in any way that floats your boat, this is well performed and I guess to produce it so good must be difficult, well done to all performers.

Not the best adaptation I’ve seen, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It shows two key things:
1. Creativity and passion for music, regardless of “format” or “style”.
2. How amazing a piece of music “Thunderstruck” really is. It’s not just a hard rock classic, it’s great music, no mater how you deliver it. It will be the AC/DC tune that long outlives all others.
The effect of the period costumes is lost when there are only three people wearing them.
LOL, I just noticed the actual "Thunderstruck" video playing on the screen in the background. I've seen that video hundreds of times! (no, not literally)
The whole world would be a better place if music and music appreciation was taught in every school.

This just demonstrates you can’t tie music down, you can interpret music in any way that floats your boat, this is well performed and I guess to produce it so good must be difficult, well done to all performers.
