So... That was almost 7 minutes of my life I absolutely do not regret spending on an unexpectedly impressive performance! Never heard of them, not really into this kinda thing usually, but anyone not impressed by this is not human! Incredibly well synchronized, super disciplined, just an all around amazing, fun to watch and pleasant to the ears performance! Well done, my Swiss friends! 🙂💙🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🥁🥁🥁
I wonder if those guys weren't sweating jelly beans for fear they might make a mistake and blow the whole thing. The fact that this was a "live" performance where the variables of just about anything could have gone wrong are incalculable! Yes, practice makes perfect and creates confidence, but these guys aren't machines. Well done, Gentlemen!!!
@@alexhungerford Stateside, the Blue Devis drum line are the only thing that comes remotely close to these guys. HBCU drumlines are not at drum a bugle core level such as the Blue Devils, note even close, and these cats overseas are at an entire other level compared to stateside drum and bugle cores.
@@Selmerpilot I'll give you the HBCU comment. But these guys are a level below what's being done in DCI, WGI, DCA. You can't compare an exhibition line to a competition line. Even the US Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps line is at a higher level than this.
Absolutely Top Class! Mesmerising, skilful, i could go on! I have seen these guys live at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and i was spellbound , still am!
I was in The Trinity Cadets Junior Drum & Bugle Corp back in the 60’s in upstate New York when I was 9 years old. I started out in the drum line then onto 1st Soprano horn and then Drum Major in my 6th and final year. We sponsored a Senior Drum & Bugle Corp competition every year. It was an amazing time in my life. Everyone needs to attend a Senior Drum & Bugle Corp in person vs on line, etc., because it’s a show that you’ll never forget.
I also marched in a junior corps in the late 60's. I was in the Blue Angels out of Brooklyn. I was in the flag line and worked my way up to rifle. Going to see a senior corps show was always so exciting.
Saw the Military Tattoo show last summer (2023) while visiting Scotland. Just jaw-dropping wonderful with the Edinburgh Castle as a backdrop. Magical!!!
I've been watching Top Secret videos for years now, and you never cease to amaze. The talent, creativity, choreography and visuals are simply stunning!
Who designs this? A choreographer? A conductor? A drill sergeant? I have absolutely no idea where that level of precision and dedication starts. Well done!
I’m not sure but as a previous drumline captain usually there is choreography We may do it ourselves, do an arrangement of a piece or do our best to replicate like one does with any musical piece. Some places have an instructor that assists some do not, some it’s part of the leading officers role to design or teach the choreography. Sometimes drum majors are like the head of the band depending if it’s full or the drumline. If it’s the line alone they have a captain who leads. Most often they lead on tenors (quads) or snare but it depends on the line. I actually chose the largest bass but I played all. One of my favourite lines of all time, the captain/drum major actually chose to play the cymbals. When with the entire band he was lead conductor essentially and another could fill in on cymbals from the pit but marching in he always had either a baton or his cymbals and if was QUITE the performance. On line he could fill any position and his cymbals gave him that versatility. Yeah as much as I love military precision, it will never rival a southern predominantly black school. In low income schools they often teach themselves to read/write/play instruments, march, manage their finances/resources/transportation and truly bring an outstanding and unique performance. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen people come to games to watch a band and then leave when they are done. The sense of community, competition, passion they have for their craft is unmatched and truly has lead to some of the most fabulous shows I’ve ever seen in competition. Usually they are marked down quite literally for their uniforms, music choice (an arrangement they have made likely popular hits and crowd pleasers) and non traditional choreography…so basically everything that makes them absolutely fantastic and shows their talent and pride in their work. So it really depends! Who knows maybe they had someone make it all up! I can say it’s certainly fun to do 😁 besides even planned choreography can have added twists and risks that make a more creative and interesting performance for the crowd. After all, it’s meant to entertain! We had a very short and very tall quad player, one song had a quad duet break in it so we wanted to do something crazy for it as it was their last year with us. We had the short player hang upside down from the tall guys shoulders and play upside down and the tall guy carry him and continue to march in formation switching from forward to back depending on who was playing and then our Cymbalist picked up the drums for a measure, tall guy bent over, short guy dismounted with a FLIP, and in a rotation back to formation the cymbalist (also quite tall) just plopped him back in harness. It was WILD 😂. That was so much fun. It’s just messing around with a metronome and the same measures/music until you get it perfect every time and work out the kinks. Honestly not that different than my time with ballet or gymnastics. They just do it until it works or they figure out something that does.
My dad and aunt and myself all spent time in drum corps including traveling and competition but that was best the best I've ever seen. The ending with the bass and snare together was truly unique and mesmerizing...it's the kind of video that makes you put down the phone after so you can deal with what you just watched...
