You are just Amezing!!

I dunno man. If you actually make a better machine you'll have taken up 2 spots in the 7 wonders of the world, and that's just too much power for one man to have.
Absolutely deserved though, and I can only imagine how great it feels to have something you worked so hard on legitimately get the recognition it deserves. What an inspiration.

@@madanigaming6595 It's a two day old comment on a three year old video.

When I was about 8, 9 years old, I had a reoccurring dream where a drop of something fell into a funnel that ignited a machine. Then, this machine started moving, puffing and working, and I'd wake up with an awful sensation of watching something that didn't have an ending.
I'm autistic and I have a terrible need for closure. I felt so bad with those dreams that I'd feel nauseous through the entire day, and they happened quite often. Once I grew up, the dreams stopped, but I still remember those in particular because my need for closure was never met.
Today, April 17th, 2024, I just found this video. I feel like this was the machine I was dreaming about.
I finally have closure.
Thank you so much for this.
I have been returning to this video once or twice a year since its release. The first couple notes hit always give me chills.

I can't believe from this singular video he's managed to milk 8 years of attempting to build another one.
Its April 2024. From reading previous comments, I gather this was done a while ago. But I find this SO AMAZING. I cant help wondering how this came to be. Im thinking it may have started as just one functional thing and then got other components added on over time. But it also seems so organized and thought out (to the point where no marbles/bearings end up on the floor!!) and how the electric and acoustic elements seem so interwoven so tightly.
Its like a combination player-piano / pinball (pachinko) machine / hybrid musical instrument (like the synth-axe-drummitar!) / Rube Goldberg macine - all in one THING.
Just incredible!!

This may be a thing one day, Musical Engineer 🤔
YEP
ramesh mv ok.
acctually its quite common that musicians wants a certain sound and sometimes that certain sound can be accomplished by engineer something.
Pipe organ builders have been at this for centuries... it IS a thing.
Talk about steel balls. This is ingeniously perfect.
It is so complicated but with such simplicity.
Super, super cool piece of gear and what a wonderful imagination! I love Wintergan videos! As of recently, I've been looking around RUclips to see what kinds of things people are doing with old tech and in particular, music related. I have an unlisted video where I'm using a Commodore 64 to play a synth solo over one of my instrumental pieces. Should be made public and discoverable in less than a week. The Commodore has the SID chip inside, which is part of what made it a great seller back when, starting in around '82.
I'm playing my C64 via a guitar volume pedal at my foot to transition through scale notes. The pedal is connected to the joystick/paddle port on the paddle pins. Scales are stored in a que and selected by the computer keyboard during playtime. Hopefully, the vintage computing community will think it's as cool as I think it is. The software is 99.98% my creation. Thanks for this video!! It's quite inspiring to others in like-minded engineering.

The world needs more humans like this.
I tried to write a program that displayed a cylinder for each prayer in the Rosary, with the text printed on the cylinder, so there would be ten cylinders for the Hail Marys, and one cylinder for each for the other prayers. Each cylinder would start and stop at its appropriate time in the progression of the Rosary. You would specify how many Rosaries you wanted, and how fast. Then the wheels would spin accordingly either fast or slow, and you could whip out arbitrarily many Rosaries arbitrarily quickly.
It comes from the idea of the prayer wheel. It was to be called R^n (R to the n). You could spin out exponential numbers of Rosaries in mere seconds, keeping Mother Mary very busy.
The whole thing would look like all these cylinders mounted on a frame.
A simpler version would be a single cylinder. You enter the text of your personal prayer, it wraps around the cylinder, and you start it spinning.
But alas, I was trying to teach myself C++ to do this, and I was not up to the challenge.

The music by itself is so good but the fact that this machine is making it is crazy 😮😮
There’s a few things that jump out to me.
And funny enough, these videos randomly popped up along with videos of Animusic that I had watched only coming across those videos within the last six months, but knowing they had been out since around 2001, which I had no idea, they even existed back then.
This is an eight-year-old video that I’m coming across now but I’ve already seen a future one where it’s a lot more updated with computer access timing and the entire machine is revamped as if it was a machine created by an actual like corporation that was thousands of dollars to buy, so this guy in this video had a a very nice craftsman with this machine and all of the wood and how it works but over a period of eight years, he progressed to the machine that looks like it would already have been part of a business so to speak, like if you had walked in the building that showcased history and the music box from the video eight years later that I actually watched before this one, would be like something you had seen from the animals of history that had already been around for hundreds of years…. if that makes sense?
But first off, I love the craftsmanship of this machine because despite the new one in the video I watched before this that looks very nice and very ostentatious, and using a lot more updated means of the machine working, this one looks like it’s built almost entirely of wood, but that he put time into crafting everything and second of all, a mix of the genius in how it was all put together, and the fact that all of those instrument levers to those specific mixed within the machine he knew at which time to pull.
I don’t know why, but I absolutely love the idea, just general overall thing that the entire machine and it’s one machine, but those levers have the ability to jump in between all the instruments and it’s all the instruments mixed up within this one machine.
I love the way in general, and despite the fact that he had a wood trimming and cutting machine.
I am myself the very creative person in general by my nature, and I love looking at this device already put together, and it must’ve taken time to put it together, but for people that are creative like this guy who not only knows how to play instruments, but knew how to put this whole thing together, I guess because of how creative a person I can be in building and molding and putting things together and putting your thoughts into physicality and the end product being what you can actually imagine and how it should look coming to fruition, if I was to have built any kind of object that started out its very base looking very rudimentary in the way this does with all of the initial wood carvings, and look and how it’s set up, if I was to have an updated version months or even years later, I don’t get me wrong, would love the much more updated look and how all of my creativity and smart came to a final version that worked out in every aspect of how it’s supposed to in near perfection, I would still be proud of and enjoy the very first conception of the version built just the way this machine looks, I just love looking at it because it’s wood initially and it’s all crafted by him but just all of that kind of stuff. I actually like looking at this machine and the original was put together over how much more modern and updated and bigger. The machine got years later from the video right before this.
this guy looks exactly like a marbles machine musician should look like.
