The only part of this that isn't a closed loop is the white candy. Once they've all been sorted out, we'll never get any new ones
I thought that was the point. something went wrong with the coloring process so they were swept aside to figure out what was wrong with them and correct it.
This whole thing strikes me as someone who only wants to eat the white candy and everything else is just eternally sorted for satisfying aesthetics.
They should make it go back to the lab.

This is a good example of integration testing! Each piece of the factory might work fine on its own, but when you hook them together, something might break, so you need to test things in context.

Man, I LOVE how talented Lego youtubers are, like I can barely build a decent Lego house, yet here these guys are, building ENTIRE FACTORIES AND CARS WITH WORKING SUSPENSION! It blows my mind with the amount of effort they put into their creations, bravo, cheers to you guys
I just realized how underrated this guy is. He puts SO much effort into his videos (things like writing 600 lines of code) and I couldn’t always be thinking one step ahead like you do. Subscriber earned.
One possible improvement would be to hide the "recycling" so that it looks like the candy is actually getting shipped out at the final stage.
You could add an illusory "packing" stage where the open box appears to be sealed. In reality the open box discreetly dumps the candy and is swapped out for a closed box.
The first stage could also be an illusion where the candy is being made from raw ingredients or something.
If you can hide the fact that the system is a closed loop it would really sell the idea that this is a factory.

I vaguely remember in the old internet, there was a lego candy machine with just mindstorms controllers, which sorts candies by colour, puts 3 candies of choice into a small glass jar and screws a lid on.
Thank you! I also remember that video, and it was fantastic and so huge that it made this machine seem small.
By the way, there was a comment where it had a clip of the balls candy balls being sorted and if you look closely at the White sorting box you can see an orange one. I will use the comment as a timestamp 17:29

So I’ve come across multiple channels just of my own accord with Lego building. But my 2.5 year old is mesmerized by this video. We watch this almost every night before bed. It’s like toddler asmr.

I placed an order last week and it never arrived! When I called their customer service department, they told to me to wait a few days. And after those few days, my order still hadn't arrived. So naturally I call the customer service people again to get a refund, then it turns out I'm 637th out of 682 on the waiting list. This company steals money, never ordering from them again!

So satisfying watching the process of the factory being built, and then watching just go... Honestly could take a video of just the factory going for like- an hour just to have it on in the background, or just to be satisfied watching the candies get made, sorted, put in the boxes, being "Shipped" and then having more "Made" and sorted again, going through the loop over and over for an hour.

I really like the explained iteration through the thought process. One of the main struggles I've had with things like this is i can't visualize the whole thing - but this reaffirms that I don't *need* to visualize the whole thing, because I can find out what I need to do next by looking at the current issue.

I love this. Only two things I would add:
-flip the shipping container conveyor belt on its side, but keep the containers up. Then use a cam grove to drive the dumping action. no lever arm needed for tipping it, and no lever arm needed for tucking it under again.
-it would be cool to see a tubular drag conveyor
