It’s crazy how we get a video every month and he’s just like “yeah I’ve been working on this for 5 years” like what’s he working on now that we have no clue about.
What i love about this is that i wondered how the robot was balanced with that many dominoes and the funnels in front and then you see the back and its just a bunch of plates ziptied to the frame. It could only have been more perfect if duct tape was involved.
Brushes herd dominoes toward a conveyor belt. Conveyor belt buckets dominoes into a hopper. Opening at the bottom of the hopper drops dominoes in front of a colour sensor. Sensor informs a carriage to move to one of N positions, where N is the number of expected different colours. Trap door opens to drop domino into appropriate hopper.
A small question about Dom. How much of a factor in the size of the dispenser was the platform driving it, seeing how much space between the dominoes and the square shape you wanted it to be? Could you have made it bigger to lay more, or was there a limiting factor, like the loader, or could you have made the platform smaller (making it heavier to compensate) and more maneuverable?
Who remembers when MrBeast was going to set the record for the longest domino chain, then stopped because it was going to be a boring video? I guess he should've just done it with robots! 😄
Well done guys. Next project is to use the same number of dominos and build a SINGLE FALL PATH mural. Only ONE domino to start it and and NO DOMINO CAN TRIGGER THE FALL OF MORE THAN ONE OTHER DOMINO. Personally I do not think it can be done...
You know, I just realized that in nearly every one of Mark’s I made a _______ videos, he always says they took like 3 months or 8 months or even 5 years. This means that Mark must constant work on several different projects at the same time! Hope you ain’t stressed Mark!
technically it would have been much much faster for them to just do it themselves then spend five years building a very complicated robot to do it for them
To be fair the robot also made mistakes. There were columns of dominoes that didn't fall. This project was freaking awesome, but I wish they expanded upon why that happened.
You could easily change this to a route and situational analyzing dominator where a change in algorithm can detect and make decisions on where to place next based on the image uploaded into it's memory. This can help people work with the dominator where if you want to remodel the image you can reupload and the next design is easily be printed using dominos.

My favorite part of this is finding out that the incredible Mark Rober, a human that has shown a capacity and eagerness of learning higher than the average human (a capacity I look up to), cannot whistle… and I, one said average human, just learned how to whistle at the age of 35. There’s hope Mark. If I can do it, you can too!
