- Welcome to Part 2 of the Whirly Modern Baby Blanket tutorial. This crochet blanket is very easy, quick and perfect for mastering some stitches for a beginner too! This border adds a little bit of texture to the finished blanket!

The yarn used for the pattern was a Scheepjes Whirl in Mediterranean Mocha, but there's loads of shades available! You can also make a blanket of any size using whatever yarn you choose along with the recommended hook size.

Just on the last row of border now. My ridging is on the wrong side. My own fault for not paying attention. I wondered if this blanket could be made as a rectangle and the popcorn edge still work out? Love your videos and tfs

Im assuming your turning to the wrong side for the front.posts to get your effect. But if you were working from the front side you could just do back posts with the same effect?

Can I check please, the video has front post treble crochet for round 1 of border, but the printed instructions is front post double treble. I've done my round 1 of just the front post treble as per the video, and the corners I worked as 2tr,2ch,2tr.
Feel like I'm going mad! Using a whirl and twice I've had to undo rows as it's become unbelievably obvious I'm running out of yarn on the boarder! I have counted and counted, there is no way I have done too many rows. 😕 I am pretty gutted!
Just a quick question: the written pattern says to y/o twice before putting the hook behind the post? Is that correct?
I went with the video and just y/o once, think it's been an error in the written pattern. On my corners for round 1 of border I did 2tr, 2ch, 2tr. I'm assuming if we did do the y/o twice then front post treble, the corners would need to have been the same. Anyway, round 1 of border done and its lovely!
