Watching from the UK and have been crocheting for a few years now but I honestly could have done with watching you when I first started. I like the way you point with a needle to show precisely where the stitches are. Perfect teacher for beginners. Love this pattern too.

Taught with patience , very clear and slow which a lesson should be . Thank you ❤️

I had never thought of weaving yarn through the big holes alongside the border. They’re not very noticeable and they do give the blanket a more polished finish. Genius! 😊 Thank you for this tutorial.
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Thank you for such a clear and concise video!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
I appreciate the way you explained the chain one space use. I have my own way of doing a turning chain in that I don’t do one lol. I do the stacked single or double as the case may be. So you telling us the reason for that chain space in the beginning is very helpful! Thank you!
I’m really happy you found it helpful! Thank you for the comment!
Simple and nicely done. Another idea for the gaps would be the passing of a silk ribbon of same or different colour through them, ended simply or with small bows. Thank you❣️
Thank you!
Great instructor. I love your technique for demonstration. I could follow along so easily. I’m very excited to make this blanket. Thank you !!

This Charming (No Holes) Crochet Baby Blanket
❤
Loved doing this pattern & your easy to understand instruction. Even when I made mistakes they were easily hidden. Used 2.75 skeins of a light weight #3; Lion's Brand Mandala Snorks with 5.5mm hook. ❤. Picture sent to your email
Thank you so much for your comment and kind words and for sending a picture! Your blanket looks absolutely amazing! I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed the pattern. Thank you again!
Is there a better way to avoid creating an inconsistency in the look with respect to the initial border row (from 20:45 to 21:30)? It really sticks out like a sore thumb from that point and beyond. Especially at 34:30.
If I could suggest, I found that stitching only 7DC at each corner removes the ballooning that happens. It does not affect the comfort at corners when alternating FPDC & BPDC on Border Round 3.
Thank you for sharing this video. I love the lighting as it really offers a clear view of the amount of stitches. Moreso of those placed between corners to keep even stitch counts so that our work is square. 😊
You’re welcome to customize the pattern as you’d like. I found, once finished, that my border was very consistent and even.
Can you start this with chainless foundation stitch?
You're welcome to try! I've only designed and made this pattern with regular starting chains.
Hi! This looks great. How large is this blanket? I need to make sure i have enough yarn . I have approximately 900 yards of baby yarn.
Thanks! The size and all the details (including amount of yarn required) can be found here: jototheworld.com/charming-no-holes-baby-blanket-crochet-pattern
Thank you for this tutorial. You make it easy to follow along. I’m new to crochet but would like to try this. My “baby” is all grown up but would like to make a larger version for him and myself. How many chains should be used to make a queen sized blanket? I looked at your site but wasn’t sure how to tackle this. Thank you again 😊
Thank you for your comment and kind words! This pattern is made from the bottom up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. To adjust the width, make less or more starting chains in multiples of 2 + 2 (an even number). To adjust the height, make less or more rows.
I really wish I could help and tell you how many chains you will need for another size but I’ve only designed, made and tested the pattern with the specific size listed in the pattern. You are welcome to adjust the size by following the instructions I’ve provided above. Hope this helps!
@@jototheworldcreations thank you. I understand this can be tricky. Perhaps I should pull out a tape measure and make note of the baby blanket measurements that may help me to figure out how many more chains to make. It can also be different if pertaining what size yarn and hook you use as well. So many variables! 😆 The pattern is so lovely I want to figure this puzzle out.
This pattern is great for beginners to learn telling your sc, ch and dc's apart! I've just started this, and I'm wondering if it's normal for the foundation chain to curve as you build the first few rows? I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my tension, the yarn, or it's just a "trust the process" kind of thing.
Hello! Thank you! You may see a slight curve in the first few rows but it should straighten up quickly. If you are still seeing a curve after approx. 6-8 rows, you may need to make your chain row and Row 1 again with a larger hook. Hope that helps!
Just finished this blanket and I love it!!!
It's pretty big, I got carried away with chains then length 😅 But it's beautiful!
Your tutorial is amazing, thank you ❤
Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear you love it!
I got several skeins/rolls of Bernat Blanket (#6 super chunky chenille in teal dreams)when I first started out loom knitting a yr.& 1/2ago,& haven't used it yet..It didn't look like it would produce the look I had hoped for originally,so I've had it set aside 4 a while now..FFW 2 now & I just learned how 2 crochet the basic stitches mainly, starting a few months ago. Amyway,I have several sizes/ kinds of hooks & I tried 2 use the Bernat on 1 the main hook that I felt was best size 4 it & that I use the most on bulky-super,I think it's aluminum size N15/10mm gold aluminum or steel by boye..Well it just doesn't feel or move right on other smaller hooks & looks bad 2,no matter what I use. I have ocd 2 & am a perfectionist so I keep frogging the chain or few stitches I've done like immediately after I've made a sample size amt...Idk what 2 do. I read that a lot of ppl.find this yarn difficult 2 work with, but I can't return it nor afford 2 not use it ever,& prob.since I'm not super experienced I'm still not great w/tension..Does any1 know if it would help if u use my plastic P 16/11.5size or another lg.size in a plastic hook, or just stick w/heavier metal?& need 2 go buy a diff.size(the next & only bigger hook I have,is a plastic Q17/15.5size)? Maybe I should just try it on a diff.loom,w/a thinner guage/distance btwn.pegs & a stockinette stitch/something plain & try 2 accept however it turns out,lol...
Hello! I really wish I could help but I designed and tested this pattern with the yarn weight and hook that is listed in the pattern. You are welcome to try something else but the size, overall look and feel of your finished item as well as the amount of yarn required may be different. Have a wonderful day!
Hi! Wonderful video, do you know how long it takes to make the full length version for you? Im quite a fast crocheter and Im curious
Thank you! It works up really quickly! Definitely one of my faster blanket patterns. I can’t remember the exact time it took. What you could do is see how long it takes you to do a row and then multiply that by 96 (which is how many rows I made) and then add some time for the border. Hope you enjoy making it!
Halifax, Nova Scotia? If so, I'm just across the bridges, on The Dartmouth side! 😊
Oh wow! It’s great to connect with another crocheter from Nova Scotia!

This is called the wattle stitch. It is a very beautiful stitch to work with.
Thanks for your comment!
I really love how this looks! Now I have a question: Would this stitch work with multiple colors? I'm trying to make a baby blanket with 3 different colors, and I'm not too sure if it will work.
Thanks in advance!
Thank you! Good question. At this time, I’ve only made it with one color so I’m not sure. Maybe others can chime in? I’d love to hear how it looks with multiple colors.
Can I double my yarn if it is thinner?
You’re welcome to try! I really wish I could help but I’ve only designed, made and tested this bag using the yarn and hook listed in the pattern. I’d love to know how it turns out with two strands at the same time.
Thank you for this pattern. I have two questions,1,must we work the row only back bump? 2.can you use the pattern for a scarf?
Hi there! The reason some patterns indicate where in the chain to work into is because how you work into the chain can impact the overall look of the finished piece. For example, for some baby blanket patterns with borders, working into the top loops of the chain in Row 1 can create large unwanted gaps between the blanket body and the blanket border. Working into the back ridge loops however, eliminates these gaps for a much nicer transition between the blanket body and border.
You are welcome to adjust the pattern and make it as a scarf. Instructions for adjusting the size are included in the pattern. I wish I could tell you how many chains to make but I have only designed, made and tested this pattern as a blanket, not as a scarf (yet).
Would I be able to do a granny square using this stitch technique? 🤔
You’re welcome to try!
Beautiful work, Jo! Question…I recognize your hooks as Boye but they seem longer and shinier??? Any help where I can get them…♥️💐
Thank you! Yes, they are Boye hooks. You can read more here: jototheworld.com/crochet-supplies

How yarn balls to make a crochet baby blanket for a girl is going on 2 years old
Hi there! All the details including the amount of yarn required can be found here: jototheworld.com/charming-no-holes-baby-blanket-crochet-pattern
May I ask can the blanket be made with Bernat blanket yarn
Hello! All my patterns are designed with the yarn weight and hook size that are listed in the pattern. You are welcome to try something else but the size, overall look and feel of your finished item as well as the amount of yarn required may be different.
I really wish I could help and tell you how to make the pattern with a different yarn weight and/or hook size but I’ve only designed, made and tested the pattern with the yarn weight and hook size listed and I wouldn’t want to give you inaccurate information. You might find these two articles helpful: jototheworld.com/yarn-weights-and-types-chart and jototheworld.com/crochet-hook-sizes-chart
🧐row two seems to curve out Is that supposed to happen?
I mention that in the video at the end of Row 2 (around 8:45). You can also see how my finished Row 2 looks in the video and also in the written pattern. Hope this helps!
Hello. I noticed the flaired out result as well. It's because she almost doubled the amount of stitches on row 2 as the wattle stitch (what she calls a v-stitch) is made. Try skipping 2 stiches. Let me know how that works out for you. I'm trying it and am working a SC at the ends for a more straight edge. 😊
What size hook did you use?
