    This video cam up in my feed and I had to watch. I was giggling because I am working on a baby blanket right now and I am already using this stitch. It is a lovely stitch for baby blankets. I do start and end mine with a SC because it makes putting the border on easier and there are no gaps. Excellent video. One of the best tutorials I have seen yet.

    I'm currently making this baby blanket and it's turning out great so far! I'm still new to crocheting and this is a great tutorial! The instuctions are clear and it helps a lot! However, I would like to say to anyone else who is making this baby blanket, some yarn is rougher than others so pick a softer one. When i was geting yarn for this project i thought to myself "if i was a baby would i like this?" I remeber geting a crocheted blanket from my aunt when I was a baby and I never used it because it wasnt soft enough. When I was geting yarn, I swear i touched all of them to find the softest one. The softest one I found was loops & threads soft and shiny! Its really soft and i can say "if I was a baby I would like this!" Thanks so much for the tutorial btw!

    Is there a better way to avoid creating an inconsistency in the look with respect to the initial border row (from 20:45 to 21:30)? It really sticks out like a sore thumb from that point and beyond. Especially at 34:30.
    If I could suggest, I found that stitching only 7DC at each corner removes the ballooning that happens. It does not affect the comfort at corners when alternating FPDC & BPDC on Border Round 3.
    Thank you for sharing this video. I love the lighting as it really offers a clear view of the amount of stitches. Moreso of those placed between corners to keep even stitch counts so that our work is square. 😊

    I got several skeins/rolls of Bernat Blanket (#6 super chunky chenille in teal dreams)when I first started out loom knitting a yr.& 1/2ago,& haven't used it yet..It didn't look like it would produce the look I had hoped for originally,so I've had it set aside 4 a while now..FFW 2 now & I just learned how 2 crochet the basic stitches mainly,starting a few months ago. Amyway,I have several sizes/ kinds of hooks & I tried 2 use the Bernat on 1 the main hook that I felt was best size 4 it & that I use the most on bulky-super,I think it's aluminum size N15/10mm gold aluminum or steel by boye..Well it just doesn't feel or move right on other smaller hooks & looks bad 2,no matter what I use. I have ocd 2 & am a perfectionist so I keep frogging the chain or few stitches I've done like immediately after I've made a sample size amt...Idk what 2 do. I read that a lot of ppl.find this yarn difficult 2 work with,but I can't return it nor afford 2 not use it ever,& prob.since I'm not super experienced I'm still not great w/tension..Does any1 know if it would help if u use my plastic P 16/11.5size or another lg.size in a plastic hook, or just stick w/heavier metal?& need 2 go buy a diff.size(the next & only bigger hook I have,is a plastic Q17/15.5size)? Maybe I should just try it on a diff.loom,w/a thinner guage/distance btwn.pegs & a stockinette stitch/something plain & try 2 accept however it turns out,lol...

      Hello! I really wish I could help but I designed and tested this pattern with the yarn weight and hook that is listed in the pattern. You are welcome to try something else but the size, overall look and feel of your finished item as well as the amount of yarn required may be different. Have a wonderful day!

    This pattern is great for beginners to learn telling your sc, ch and dc's apart! I've just started this, and I'm wondering if it's normal for the foundation chain to curve as you build the first few rows? I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my tension, the yarn, or it's just a "trust the process" kind of thing.

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! Thank you! You may see a slight curve in the first few rows but it should straighten up quickly. If you are still seeing a curve after approx. 6-8 rows, you may need to make your chain row and Row 1 again with a larger hook. Hope that helps!

    Hi! Wonderful video, do you know how long it takes to make the full length version for you? Im quite a fast crocheter and Im curious

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Год назад +1

      Thank you! It works up really quickly! Definitely one of my faster blanket patterns. I can’t remember the exact time it took. What you could do is see how long it takes you to do a row and then multiply that by 96 (which is how many rows I made) and then add some time for the border. Hope you enjoy making it!

    Thank you for this tutorial. You make it easy to follow along. I’m new to crochet but would like to try this. My “baby” is all grown up but would like to make a larger version for him and myself. How many chains should be used to make a queen sized blanket? I looked at your site but wasn’t sure how to tackle this. Thank you again 😊

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your comment and kind words! This pattern is made from the bottom up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. To adjust the width, make less or more starting chains in multiples of 2 + 2 (an even number). To adjust the height, make less or more rows.
      I really wish I could help and tell you how many chains you will need for another size but I’ve only designed, made and tested the pattern with the specific size listed in the pattern. You are welcome to adjust the size by following the instructions I’ve provided above. Hope this helps!

      @@jototheworldcreations thank you. I understand this can be tricky. Perhaps I should pull out a tape measure and make note of the baby blanket measurements that may help me to figure out how many more chains to make. It can also be different if pertaining what size yarn and hook you use as well. So many variables! 😆 The pattern is so lovely I want to figure this puzzle out.

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Год назад +1

      Hi there! The reason some patterns indicate where in the chain to work into is because how you work into the chain can impact the overall look of the finished piece. For example, for some baby blanket patterns with borders, working into the top loops of the chain in Row 1 can create large unwanted gaps between the blanket body and the blanket border. Working into the back ridge loops however, eliminates these gaps for a much nicer transition between the blanket body and border.
      You are welcome to adjust the pattern and make it as a scarf. Instructions for adjusting the size are included in the pattern. I wish I could tell you how many chains to make but I have only designed, made and tested this pattern as a blanket, not as a scarf (yet).
