    I am coming back to crochet after stepping away for many years. Tried knitting but, for me, didn't supply the satisfaction and interest that crochet does. I am going to try to make this blanket in ivory. Thank you for your channel, videos and patterns!

    ❤Crystal, I am in the middle of your shell blanket of a year ago. It’s so easy and also beautiful. I was taught to crochet by my mother when I was ten years old. Gave it up when I had to earn a living. Now I’m 86 and it makes my day. Your creations are so beautiful and so easy. I want you to know how much I appreciate you and your endeavors! Thank you!!❤

      @@jamilahabdalrahman5180 Well done, glad you picked it up again. I think it went out of fashion for a time. Then family stopped having babies, as I made a heap of baby blankets. Now I have a great granddaughter, that’s when I thought I’d pick it up again. I really forgot how to do the shell edging 🤔 I agree it’s good for the brain, and good for the hands and wrists, and it’s rewarding looking at the finished product. I started crocheting a couple of weeks ago. Very basic stitches. I wanted to make something beyond swatches and came across this. It's beautiful. I really struggled and nearly threw the towel in but i slowed it down to quarter speed and it became a lot clearer. My first row is gnarly to say the least but i'm just perfecting the stitch before i start it properly. Can't wait! Super effective with such simple stitches.❤
    Update: 22jan22 i mastered the stitches on my swatch and began my project (my first ever) yesterday. It's a wrap/shawl. Looks absolutely fabulous so far. It looks complicated whilst being simple enough for a beginner to do. I could never get on with knitting. I'm loving crochet. Thanks for the video❤

    • @amydavis4945
      @amydavis4945 Год назад +1

      @@nalinigsankar3072 I honestly couldn't tell you. I usually don't "measure" my scarves... I just make them about the size of "store-bought" scarves. Roughly I start with 25'ish chains, depending on the stitch I'm using. Then I just make it long enough to wrap around the neck and hang down a bit. LOL, sorry I'm not more exact. After almost 50 years of crocheting, I've learned to not be afraid to experiment. If you see a stitch you like, just play with it (using an easy to "frog" yarn in the weight you plan to use- "frog" means rip it out) until you like what you get, then do it again with any yarn you like of the same weight (DK, worsted/eran, bulky, etc).

    Thank you Crystal - another lovely blanket pattern. I’ve just decided to make some more 24” baby blankets for Princess Evelina at St Thomas’s hospital SCBU in London and this is perfect. Just think how far your patterns travel!

    My grandmother taught me this stitch so long ago. It is one of my favorite and works up so quick. Thanks for the video and reminding me about this stitch.

    Thanks Crystal, beautiful blanket. You asked what we might like for tutorials. I'm working on 3 blankets right now and was looking for borders to use and I thought maybe different border tutorials and/or even basic stitches tutorials might be view a lot. Any way love all you videos and that I retired ... crocheting is what I fill my days with (includes watching RUclips to learn and plan what's next on my hook) BIG THANK YOU!!

    I love this pattern. I struggle sometimes keeping my stitch count on things that have really long rows. This pattern makes it super obvious where I should be. Thank you for the very well made and super helpful video.

    I really admire the way you do your tutorials . This pattern is so beautiful when it’s made up into a blanket yet grey for beginners on up. The color of the yarn is so pretty too. Can’t believe I don’t have it in my Caron stash lol 😂 ordering now! Blessings and thank you for all you do ♥️

      I buy the yarn at micheals when i can get the 30% coupon. I also get seniors discount. My friend buys one and i buy the other one. I use 2 balls for one baby blanket. This makes the yarn affordable.
