    ❤Crystal, I am in the middle of your shell blanket of a year ago. It’s so easy and also beautiful. I was taught to crochet by my mother when I was ten years old. Gave it up when I had to earn a living. Now I’m 86 and it makes my day. Your creations are so beautiful and so easy. I want you to know how much I appreciate you and your endeavors! Thank you!!❤

      @@jamilahabdalrahman5180 Well done, glad you picked it up again. I think it went out of fashion for a time. Then family stopped having babies, as I made a heap of baby blankets. Now I have a great granddaughter, that’s when I thought I’d pick it up again. I really forgot how to do the shell edging 🤔 I agree it’s good for the brain, and good for the hands and wrists, and it’s rewarding looking at the finished product. Thanks for the Tutorial 🙏 watching from down under, Australia 🇦🇺🐨

    I started crocheting a couple of weeks ago. Very basic stitches. I wanted to make something beyond swatches and came across this. It's beautiful. I really struggled and nearly threw the towel in but i slowed it down to quarter speed and it became a lot clearer. My first row is gnarly to say the least but i'm just perfecting the stitch before i start it properly. Can't wait! Super effective with such simple stitches.❤
    Update: 22jan22 i mastered the stitches on my swatch and began my project (my first ever) yesterday. It's a wrap/shawl. Looks absolutely fabulous so far. It looks complicated whilst being simple enough for a beginner to do. I could never get on with knitting. I'm loving crochet. Thanks for the video❤

    • @amydavis4945
      @amydavis4945 Год назад +1

      @@nalinigsankar3072 I honestly couldn't tell you. I usually don't "measure" my scarves... I just make them about the size of "store-bought" scarves. Roughly I start with 25'ish chains, depending on the stitch I'm using. Then I just make it long enough to wrap around the neck and hang down a bit. LOL, sorry I'm not more exact. After almost 50 years of crocheting, I've learned to not be afraid to experiment. If you see a stitch you like, just play with it (using an easy to "frog" yarn in the weight you plan to use- "frog" means rip it out) until you like what you get, then do it again with any yarn you like of the same weight (DK, worsted/eran, bulky, etc).

    This looks like the blanket stitch. It is my absolute favorite stitch for making blankets and blankets are my favorite thing to make.

    I am making this as a large blanket right now for a gift and it is gorgeous! I am using a beautiful burgundy yarn from Europe. I can't remember if you are okay with me calling out yarn brands or not, so I'm not going to say the brand of yarn... but it is stunning. It's fast, easy, and working up quick! Thank you so much for your pattern.

    When your tutorials come up I practice the stitches in cotton for wash clothes. This makes a lovely textured cloth.

    I don't usually watch the tutorials, but this one looked different. What a pretty pattern for such simple stitches. Thank you Crystal for the pattern.

    Hey Crystal you are an awesome teacher. I so love this stitch and the color you chose to make it. I will definitely be making this blanket very soon. You've really taught me a lot about different yarns. You are my favorite person to watch for sure. I do have a request from you if possible. For several months I've tried to find a video on RUclips to help me make standard pillow shams to match a blanket I made for my bed. I used the granny stripe stitch. I've been trying to figure it out myself but not having much luck yet. I'm really surprised there really aren't any videos on making shams for a bed. There seem to be all kinds of videos for every other size of pillows to make. Why not for regular shams you take in and out? I thought there would be lots of videos for how to do it. Who wouldn't want matching shams for blankets. I would be so grateful for your help if possible. Please let me know if you can help me out. Thank you for everything you do. Again you are awesome. 😊

    This is my favorite go to stitch for making blankets. Works up very fast and it's 2 sided.

    I can't believe how clearly and easily you describe the steps to complete any of these projects! You make me think that I can do any of them, and I'm off to try this blanket right now! Thank you!!

    I started making my own pattern blanket then realized I didn’t chain enough so I think I will take it apart and start this one instead. 😂😂

      You can add chains by putting your hook into the first chain then work a few new ones in the opposite direction...or you can take some off by just unthreading the beginning tail. Some times you can just count wrong and it sucks to take that whole foundation row out

      I did this a lot as well. I decided to have multiple wins going and none are the same!!!! I have clothing,dish rags,shawls,and so on,different weight yarns...because the having a choice is much nicer than throwing it in a corner never to be seen again. Options are my favorite thing ever!!! This has made it much nicer to see a finished product no matter which gets done first. I also never do super big projects until I have a serious reason to. I keep them small projects for a quicker completion and see how beautiful it became to give me more will to continue. I hope that helps you😃just please don’t give up you will be so proud of yourself I promise...keep it small then grown into bigger things..I get bored easily 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤗💕good luck but remember to have fun❤️

    This is the most beautiful simple pattern I have ever seen. I've been looking for new stitches to make face cloth/makeup remover for myself and saw this video. Even with peaches & cream cotton it's beautiful. This will definitely be my next baby blanket!!

    I love this pattern. I struggle sometimes keeping my stitch count on things that have really long rows. This pattern makes it super obvious where I should be. Thank you for the very well made and super helpful video.
