  • Upgrading the Ender 3 and 3 Pro stock bed springs to a stiffer and longer one is advisable. This video shows why we needed this low cost upgrade (for less than 2 dollars) and what is the best way to do it right.
    This was done on my Ender 3. I also did this for my Ender 3 Pro.
    I got my springs here : www.cytron.io/...

    Well done. Good explanation of how much the springs should be compressed at the level zero point and how the limit switch needs to be set. Many channels just hand wave this part away and tell you to go and do a level.

    I got an E3pro a few weeks ago. I don't think the stock springs are long enough. I did the first bed leveling after assembly, but the nozzle was almost 1mm from the bed with the screw fully loose. I ended up shaving off some of the plastic Z limit switch mount to move the Z home position lower.

    Do you think the first thing should be not to change springs but instead recenter the spring compression and adjust the limit switch?

    @Kaki DIY
    I have recently tried to upgrade my Ender 3 stock springs with some yellow springs, which is available now in Amazon India. Seller is providing 3 options for size. 25 mm, 20 mm and 15mm in length. I went ahead with 25 mm and soon realized that 25 mm is loo long for Ender 3 and I replaces with 20 mm. 20 mm was 1 mm longer when fully compressed and I need to adjust the Z-limit switch approx 1 mm higher. Then I tried 15 mm one and it was just fit as needed. My question if the 15 mm is good enough and if the shorter length has any potential performance issue as compared with the 20 mm one? Actually I don't want to adjust my Z-limit switch and want to go with its default position.

      I would go with the 20 mm and adjust the Z- Limit switch. It is more stable and consistent that way with the springs compressed.

      @@KakiDIY this is not good advice
      compressing the springs, the yellow, more powerful ones, puts more tension on the plate and deforms it

    • @chrisb3989
      @chrisb3989 Год назад +2

      @@arxfatallis if the tension is equal on all springs it cannot possibly deform the plate…..unequal tension just gives you unequal levels that’s the whole point of having adjustable tension…..to get a level.

    You guys do realize this should came from factory that way. Its creality's lack of engineering and making sure things are optimal. To save few pennies? And you guys are thankful?

      You'll be surprised but i kinda thankful for all that bs. I learned a lot along the way about basic electronics and engineering I may don't like to solve these issues, but i learn more stuff each time and it may help me with further arduino like creations. And honestly i could start really cheap with ender 3, getting results early and progress to deeper understanding how all that stuff works.

    or you could just adjust the height of the level sensor to add more tension to the original springs and save yourself time and money

    I have received ender 3 3d printer. In bed spring There 4 springs in that one smaller then all? It's good or not…

    • @va02gaming
      @va02gaming 2 года назад +1

      yes i have just replaced my springs all 4 are the same size 1 looks smaller as that goes inside the holder for the bed wires. very easy to do just make sure you adjust your limit switch and re level the bed otherwise you could end up contacting the bed with the nozzle
