A week’s worth of wet weather, international shipping, noisy neighbours, rogue traders, shoddy workmanship, communicative incompetence, broken bolts, lost data, a shut-up-shop bank holiday weekend and a kamikaze squirrel all contributed to the ridiculous amount of time this one took to complete. Apologies and hopefully it won’t be quite so long next time!
"A new chunky strut brace was satisfactorily slotted into place and secured".. This guy has an extensive vocabulary with an outstanding command of the English language.. It's almost like poetry.. Very satisfying!
its a bit overkill to take that many parts off to clean the engine bay but it makes it nicer to look at when at a car show for instance or when you take it in to your mechanic they can work on it more easily and with litle effort a cleaned and maintained engine bay can save you some money or save you the time to clean your hands tools or parts when working on your own car
I don’t know anything about cars, but this channel is one of the most satisfying things I’ve found in months. Thanks for sharing, and for the narration. I’m inspired to learn more, and want to take better care of my vehicles as a result!
Every time I watch one of your videos; not only am I intrigued by your exceptional skills and information, but simultaneously I am delighted by your extensive and meticulous attention to details. I also feel so relaxed as if i was on vacation drinking a beer by the beach. Can’t express how grateful I am for your content, Thank you very much for your therapeutic approach on your videos!
Hello. I am a subscriber to several retail chains .... but none of them dismantles the parts at risk in the engine bay. This quality, this thoroughness that you have in your work shows that you are a great professional. Well done for this wonderful work. 👏👏👏👏👏👍😉
And I thought I was detail oriented. Your work and attention to detail are incredible! Also, your filming techniques, lighting, and production quality are excellent.
Another great video by The Guru. The Guru is just that folks.....A GURU of car detailing. I like your straightforward approach to detailing and your presentation of your detailing methods on your videos. Without a doubt you are an expert through personal experience of doing detailing of all types of vehicles over the years and you've EARNED your wings so to speak through your trials and tribulations in detailing. You "talk the talk" but more importantly, you "walk the walk" as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us everyday people out here in the world. I really enjoy detailing my vehicles on the weekends and just keeping them clean and like new appearance. I like the fact you use the more mainstream and usually more affordable detailing products that don't cost a fortune to obtain and you achieve the same level of detailing results as the "heavy hitters" on RUclips do with their super expensive products on even more super expensive cars that yes, we all aspire (or more correctly DREAM) to own but 99% of us will NEVER see. Let's face it folks, do you NEED a $400 bottle of wax, sealant, or coating? Honestly, in the overall scheme of things here, is it going to be THAT much shinier than a wax, sealant, or coating you can buy for, say, $40. Maybe. Does a $75 bottle of interior cleaner work better than a $12 bottle, maybe, but probably not anything you'd ever REALLY notice. Sometimes people think that because they pay a fortune for something, it works that much better. Not always and in most cases, not usually. Some relatively affordable products do a FANTASTIC job in the right hands using the right techniques and tools. I'll never own a McLaren Senna, Bugatti Chiron, or Ferrari anything, but I use your methods on my Nissan SUV and VW convertible with the same enthusiasm. Thanks again buddy. You're one of the best detailing channels on RUclips in my opinion. Looking forward to your future videos!
I don’t drive or own a car but these videos are one of my favourite videos on RUclips! This guy beats all the “satisfying compilation” videos out there
Took me a while to adjust to the accent. I wish I had the confidence to give the engine bay a degrease, clean and detail like this. Always too worried I will bugger some electrics lol. So satisfying to watch tho.
Fordy Ford if you take the time to cover up and protect the sensitive parts as seen in the video and also disconnecting the negative battery terminal everything should be fine. Electronics are able to get wet the thing that ruins them is when they get wet and shorted out. Just make sure you give time to dry before connecting the battery back up!
I wouldn’t even bother covering anything half the time, their made to get wet when it rains etc, my 4wd gets doused in mud and has never had an issue with alternators etc
At last....the Guru Mobile gets the treatment. Great video and as usual, impeccable attention to detail by the Guru. Your videos are always worth the wait whatever the subject content. Keep em coming mate
6:18 Meanwhile in the Amazon rainforest the red hard bristle brush is doing the mate call by proudly prancing around and strutting it's stuff. 6:30 The female is impressed and acknowledges her presence and readiness.
Looking good! Nice touches and great attention to detail. I clean my engine compartment at least once a month and it really keeps it looking new. I think a lot of guys overlook that area but if maintained often its very easy to do and the payoff is huge. Keep up the great work.
Yes, we have been missing you. Smart work and everything is perfect! My son and I really like The Guru Hatch. Ok, so there must have been something mystical in the air on this earth because I too just completed this task on one of our BMW's after Powder Coating shop holding my pieces for ransom, and decided it had been long enough.
looks very nice, i use the finish in the bay as well, some things if i can't be bothered i'll mist the engine after cleaning then spray it with the finish start her leave her for five then just turn her off always looks a dam sight better than before....cheers for posting.
Keep an eye on the very clean bonnet paint. If you're going to leave the insulation off the underside, the heat off the spruced up engine will/could cause damage!
All the new parts look good, but I think the color matching intake manifold is my favorite. Wishing you the best here in the United States and as always fantastic video!
That under hood tray doubles as a some sort of "heat shield" to stop baking the paint from engine temps in the long run. I recommend you put it back or else it will damage and peel your paint over time.
My Focus ST (with the same 2.5T Engine) came without an under hood tray and I never bothered to buy a new one in the 3 years that I owned it. Even the paint on the inside of the bonnet didn't get damaged.
Bloody gorgeous job mate. I've been itching to deep clean my as-yet uncleaned from factory bay. I got my V50 T5 almost 2 years ago now and she's in real need of some love in the engine bay! Really inspiring stuff, might even give some of your products a go in there, especially the leave-on finishing spray. Nice.
Love these videos.... looks brilliant. Can't imagine how hard it is to make videos while doing this... I did this to my car and couldn't imagine filming it... too much effort. Love all your videos... especially the "GURU" Car!
I know I'm a bit late here. But I recommend putting that sound deadening back in. It also provides a heat barrier for the hood. I've seen more than a few cars with paint failure right over the hot spots of an engine bay.
Wish I had the confidence to do this without worrying that I'd ruin my Benz AMG. Love the way you detail! Learned so much and will never let anyone else touch my car again because noone does a job like you lol
I approve of your choice of intercooler. Also, until you get a full exhaust and a tune on it, you're probably looking at around 50bhp like you said. A tune could see much more than that. Also be careful of that coolant tank. Mazda uses the same one and they like to degrade and crack after they go from yellow to orange.

Adam Slater, it’s that accent and the often dry sense of humour I switch on for that does it. Lol
I don’t get to hear people with such a broad accent living south of Watford. 😬🤪

@@andrewdavies1312 it is quite satisfying to hear such eloquent narration after watching videos of American 19 year olds.
Thumbs up for missing this guy's therapeutic videos
No
This guy got patience by the bucketload, take off half the front end of the car to clean up where no one looks anyways that's some next level stuff
its a bit overkill to take that many parts off to clean the engine bay but it makes it nicer to look at when at a car show for instance or when you take it in to your mechanic they can work on it more easily and with litle effort a cleaned and maintained engine bay can save you some money or save you the time to clean your hands tools or parts when working on your own car

I wouldn't know....every time the guru talks I fall asleep!!
I cant imagine him screaming lol
Yeah, I can't imagine watching anyone else clean an engine bay for 18 minutes!
Epic work editing this production! - you continually teased and timed in just enough eye candy throughout
Possibly the best detailed engine bay cleaning in history of RUclips!
Congrats Guru!

Slightly OCD ,how about next time taking the body shell off and tackling the chassis to a deep clean?Lol.
