    Before doing this, I pulled the fuse for the climate control to reset the system on my Ford Fusion 2012. The fuse box is located under the driverside dash left of the brake pedal. It was fuse #15. I pulled it, waited 5 minutes, put it back in and the AC seems to be working correctly now. I read that sometimes the blender door actuators can get off and/or there is a glitch in the climate control module and this may reset/recalibrate them. Could also try unplugging/replugging the couplers behind the glovebox. Pretty easy steps before tearing into the dash.

    Great Video! It solved my problem of the A/C changing from Cold to Hot about 15 seconds after starting my 2010 Fusion. The one item missing from your instructions is the safety strap that is attached just below the Hazard Lights switch on the storage compartment on top of the dash. I couldn't figure out why the compartment wouldn't pull away from the dash/air vents. I came up from under the Hazards switch and cut the strap. Apparently, the strap is there to prevent the plastic compartment from dislodging during airbag deployment.
    I replaced the HVAC Module. $225 at AutoZone - Dorman A/C Selector Mode Switch 599-228. Problem Solved!
    The other common causes of the A/C acting this way is;
    1) Blend Door stuck. Test this by turning battery power on, but do NOT start the car. Turn on the HVAC power (push the button). Slowly turn the Temp Control knob from Cold to Hot. If the Blend Door is working, you will hear it (humming) as it moves. The sound comes from under the dash, above the gas pedal.
    2) A/C Evaporator Temp Probe Sensor. This is the worse one to fix because the entire dash must be removed to replace the $20 part. There is a quick easy workaround by installing a resistor wire between two wires that are going into a multi-plug behind the glove compartment door.

    2006 to 2012 Ford Fusion and the Air blows cold for just a few seconds and then turns to heat, click the temperature control nob two clicks to the right off the coldest setting and start the car/AC. Some folks have said that turning on the headlights and fog lights on also works. I haven't tried it yet because it is 90 degrees here and I'm leaving my AC on and don't want to mess with anything until fall.
    Apparently, there is some service notification about the computer related to all the vehicle cabin functions and controls that is causing this.

    Mine ended up being the evaporator temp sensor, which tends to go bad on Fusion. The dealership said the sensor was reading -35 degrees and kept the compressor from turning on to prevent freezing it up. The bad part is that the dash needs to be removed and is very costly. Ended up doing the job myself and the sensor was $30 motorcraft brand. Did not want to use aftermarket parts for something that require so much work to replace.

      @@thomaslehmann5981 Did the dealership do a diagnosis? That's how I found the problem and it only cost me $85 for the diagnosis. Have you tried checking the fuses, swap ac clutch relay and tried bypassing the clutch relay to see if the clutch engages? Could be many things.... But a dealership diagnosis would save you time diagnosing. There a detail video on the removal of the dashboard here on RUclips if you wanted to try it. But I would do a dealership diagnosis to pin point the problem and then decide if you want to try fixing it your self.
      Do not take it to any place for diagnosis, but only a Ford dealership. I took mine to PepBoys and they said I needed a whole new AC system. I was also quoted $1,200 at the dealership and also at pepboys. Luckily I did not take PepBoys diagnosis and took it straight from there to the dealership.

      @@thomaslehmann5981 Here is the link for the Ford Forum I was getting help from diagnosis the problem. You can read the process I took and links to other RUclips videos on this matter. You can actually do a hack to the evap sensor wiring right behind the glove compartment to override the sensor and get the AC working. I decided to do it the hard way, but I could have done the sensor wiring hack with a new sensor or some use a resistor for the hack.
      Check my thread on the forum and watch the linked videos I posted there. It has the links for the hack videos as well as the dashboard removal process. Just remember you have a 2013, but the wiring might be the same.
