    I have the exact same problem and did some digging on it. Appears there is a fix which requires reprogramming the module using IDS version 98.01 or higher. There is a special service message associated with it as well SSM 45456. I'm not sure I'll bring mine in for this reprogram, more than likely will just use the work around, but figured I would post this in case anybody wants to get it fixed.

      Im looking at one with this exact problem. I hadn't checked the blend door pids, believe it or not that's not on fords pin point test. But I saw the ssm and checked for updates, none available. But am I to understand the point of concern is EVAP sensor? Ford says replace HVAC module. I haven't yet trying to make sure which part actually needs to be replaced. Great video thanks so much very informative

      Thank you for sharing that. Should I contact my Ford Dealer where I purchased the car to have it reprogrammed? Where can I find this information? We just bought a used 2 owner 2011 Fusion and love it. Great car. Handles beautifully. Roomy enough for my tall kids. Great gas mileage. AC went out about 2 weeks ago on a trip to visit my family. My BIL hooked up gauges and freon was on the low end of acceptable. He filled it up and it worked better, much colder, but still was intermittent. My husband got home and said it wasnt working again. I'm getting ready to take another trip to my mom's. He found your video and went out and went out to try your "2 clicks" fix. He came in completely amazed. We are both very grateful as are the kids 😁

    Thank you for this video. I have been chasing this for years on my wife’s car and even paid a mechanic several hundreds of dollars to “fix” the problem. Worked for a year or so and then same problem. The fog light fix did not work for my car. Air went hot again today and I tried the “two clicks from cold” you suggested and perfectly cold air! Can’t thank you enough.

    Our 2012 Fusion just presented with no A/C this week Feb2024 Texas, tested blend door and was working fine; Found a Hak on RUclips to move the headlight selector knob to manual and pull the selector out to turn on the fog lights (didn’t know we had fog lights). This Hak worked for us. Kinda random but it stop baby from complaining and got the fusion blowing cold again.

    Leaving cool knob to two clocks away from max is the only fix I’ve seen. Also if it goes to hot, you can temp fix by putting control knob on all the way max heat and leaving it for about 5 seconds then you go one by one click until to get to two away from max cool

    • @fdamien80
      @fdamien80 Год назад

      Now my new problem is when car is sitting still with ac on , car coolant temp gets to 115c 239f then cooling fan kicks on to max and coolant temp drop to 92c 197f and stays stable
      I notice this one I saw my temp gauge rising near max

    Cabin fans in my 2012 would stop working randomly. The fix for my issue was to unplug the main unit under the passenger glovebox and plug it back in fixed it everytime until the fuse blew. Gonna try to get that fixed because no AC mid summer is not the move.

    Let me share my sufferring. It started to behave in 2022 (2011 model) and turning car off and on would reset it and the problem would not appear for months. This year, the compressor started to engage and disengage constantly. The logical conclusion was that it's the EVAP sensor. I made the reading on the harness, and it was close to 5V (indicating cold). So I bypassed it with a resistor. Now the compressor was engaged. Success! For about a week. Once that was fixed, it started doing this. It would start cooling the car, and after about a minute or two it would turn on warm, while the compressor was still engaged.

    Did you try measuring AC ripple voltage on the battery? High ripple AC from a poorly functioning rectifier in the alternator can play havok with all kinds of electronic modules. I am having the same problem with my wife's 2012 Fusion, and the problem began very shortly after a battery replacement, due to a bad battery. I have about 120mV of AC on my car, which seems high to me. I would like to see AC ripple like 20-30mV at most. Possibly the bad battery damaged the rectifier in the alternator and one or more diodes is a little "leaky" now. I am going to to try unplugging my alternator and see if the HVAC problem goes away. You might try the same thing on yours.

  • @ZachTrumble

    Doesn't the "new" module need to be programmed to the car? I just replaced mine with a remanufactured one and it still wasnt working, took it to a mechanic and they said it needs to be programmed by the dealer.
    Trying to get an appointment now. I'll let you know if it works...

    • @ZachTrumble
      @ZachTrumble 2 года назад

      Nope. Found a radiator shop that can program (dealer was crazy expensive). Programed the rebuilt module and no cold air. They say temp sensor is reading - 40 F. In other words not working. On to replacing that 😣
      The fog light trick worked for 2 years for me. Maybe now I actually have a faulty condenser temp sensor on top of the strange computer glitch? 🤷🏻
