I was a young mom. I had my 1st and only daughter at 20yrs and I parent so much different than my parents. My sister and my mom would sometimes comment that "you can tell she doesn't get beatings" an I was and am okay with that.
At such a young age I made my own rules when it came to parenting instead of succumbing to my environment
I didn't want to beat my daughter and the fact that it *didn't make me feel good* let me know it shouldn't be done. I wanted to talk to her and find other ways to discipline.
My mom didn't teach, I sit with my daughter/call her over to teach her things all the time.
I take the time to have conversations with her and ask about her feelings, when she was 5 and I still do it with her at 15yrs.
My mother and a lot of old school parents/Caribbean's parents think providing shelter and food is where parenting begins & ends.

Very true, I’m African and that’s how I grew up and raided my kids like that for half the time and thankfully ended up changing
I turned around and educated myself and now I tell everyone to not beat their kids and scream at them
To that girl who said you’re not showing everything, everyone doesn’t have the same experience. I have four children and they were all different but for the most part I had very easy baby experiences. No serious illnesses, no hospitalizations or ER visits. Well ….maybe one with with my first and only son when I was a panicky new mom. But everyone has good and bad days. Of course who is thinking about content when everything is gone to hell? Tell that girl to calm down.

Your joy is infectious! Motherhood suits you! It’s good seeing you get out. Don’t forget the importance of “me time”. As mothers we sometimes lose ourselves to motherhood. Don’t forget the importance of “couple time”. Charlie seems like a loving person who loves his family. A beautiful family for sure! Don’t take for granted a man that cooks for you. Food is my love language so I do the majority of cooking but I adore my husband when he prepares a meal for me. It may not be 5 star, but it tells me how much he loves me in return. Maybe some cooking episodes with you showing Charlie how to prepare some of your favorite meals?? Wishing your family much continued joy and happiness!

I loved the baby talk age. My son was very impatient to talk. He's just precious shalom. I made my sons first foods myself. Of course he's 22 years old now so I'm better recipes for babies are a lot better. Some babies are just easier than others.

I want to say congratulations on the baby. Your body was like mine snap back. I like to see different kinds of woman that are new moms. My experience was really bad not the birth had my son in a hour. I was homeless no job and partner was not good to me. So I had to start from the bottom.

When he sleeps you need to take a nap too. Rest well so you will be ready when he wakes up. Believe me I was trying to do everything when he was sleep, but mom told me to rest when he rest , she was right, but you learn as time go on peace/blessings 🙏🏽
