nice! Im about to build a UL here in the coming months, parts slowly trickling in! excited to try a 7" and some extra LR smooth flight!
you will love it, 7 inch are so much better for longer flights and smoother flying
Such a beautiful build. Video is a good resource as well. Thank you for the content.
Thanks bud much appreciated 🙏
Super nice video and build. This frame looks so nice !!
Nice Build man. Awesome flight as well 🚀🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks man much appreciated 🙏
Amazing flight ! So smooth, thanks for sharing 🙏👍
Thank you 🙏
Great video. Love seeing this constant progress.
Thanks 🙏
Super cool build and nice video overall, cheers mate!
Thanks mate 👌
Nice build video. I don't need 7" but this looks so tempting. 😍
In that case you do need one 🙄
Trust me it’s super fun
Sure you need it... sounds like you don't have one
When my wife seems at all annoyed with my drones, i align them all on the kitchen counter from 7" to tiny whoops.. there is not enough counter space. Like 20 drones
Can I do a 7 inch build that flys like a dji .. clearly I’m new to this
Nice build. Considering this frame but kinda like the Chim pro with an 03 too. Not the cheapest for a first build but in for a penny
You can't go wrong with either both are great I have both of them. If you never built a drone before then chimera 7 bnf is the way to go
@@gazafpvwhats your thoughts on the aos 7 evo that iflight is selling? Almost same price as chimera 7 pro and moz7, the main difference is the prop and motor size, but that should be a better frame right? Can you give me some recommendations? I really like the aos 7 bc it is much lighter than the chimera and moz
@@rafaelm3404 really boils down to what's important to you light weight or durability.
You struggle to get both in a frame. So ul7 is great due it's lightweight design but the motor mounts are too thin in my opinion and slight bump your going to damage something or write off a frame.
It flys well though but I find my self flying a custom heavier frame I designed more now
Nice build and flight
I have aos7 mantis v1, and its great frame, can't wait available in my country for this frame
At the moment I think you just have to buy them from CNC drones in Canada that's how we all getting them
Fantastic video. I just build the AOS 7 V2
That's awesome man enjoy 👌
really cool build dude !
Thanks man 🙏
Beautiful Job!
thank you
A very neat looking build Gaz ... and refreshing to see a fellow Welshman doing reviews :) Is the flying spot in the Beacons/Bwlch area? Looks great. I've recently re-built a regular AOS7 DJI/AU, BH 2806.5/1300Kv/Diversity setup after a disastrous RTH accident on it's maiden ... but loving it. 7 mins on a 3000mAH GNB 6S 100-1200C but yet to try my GNB 4000mAH 6S 10C Li-Ion like yours. Also have a Chim 7 DJI/AU build with BH 2806.5/1300Kv which I'm just testing out. Both using the UAVTech 7" tune for BF 4.4 ... what about yours? Finally, do you have a the .stl for the Mini 11 mount. I need to tart mine up ;) Keep up the good work and hit me up if you're up in Ceredigion and fancy some flying company. Sub'd. Diolch 👍
thanks bud, definitely we need more welsh in the game 😁, yeah you got it, it was both Brecon and Bwlch. yeah i run the same preset it seems to fly well on the uavtech 7inch tune not much tweaking really needed
3d prints i design my self but can send them across if needed, i presume your talking about the gopro mount not the botom part ?
@@gazafpv Yeah, it's a solid tune which just works. Thanks for offering to sent the STL for the GP 11 Mini case, however's convenient. Cheers, Steve
@@Ddraig62SPD anyway works for me i don't upload to thingiverse i find it annoying to upload if your on instagram give me a message (@gazafpv) and shoot me over your email and ill send it across,, if not attach your email here and ill send it across.
@@gazafpv Hi. Have you tried Rosser AOS UL7 preset tune?
@@Wontonsoupz yes I am running it with some minor filter changes
NICE! I used CRSF Diversity and O3 but besides that mine is similar 👍 got to do some tuning though 🤷🏻♂️
That's awesome nice setup, If your running betaflight use the 7 inch preset it's a good place to start I still need to play with disabling filters see how good frame really is

Thanks! ALWAYS happy landings!
Quality pal 🤙🏻
Thanks bro
to follow this build we must test the range
both stationary and in motion right? so can't wait to see the test video technically...
Any interest in selling the TPU STL's please? Looks great
That’s a great video about this frame.
I allready own the chimera 7 o3 and i get stunning flight time with 8000 mah li-ion pack(25-30) mins. I really want to build this frame with the same vtx. Do you think i can get similar flight time with all these li-ion battteryes that i allready have? Can it carry these 800-900 grams packs and a mini11 or naked one for 20-25 mins?
I’d really appreciate your opinion on this.
Thanks and safe flying out there 🙏
The problem with this frame is the props runs close to your lipos so if you have a large pack or 2 4000lions it becomes a fight to make them fit without the props hitting the lipos. You can always mount them underneath which would be more suited for large packs or 1 on top 1 on bottom.
The other issue is it's very fragile frame and has alot of flex within the frame
These 2 flaws Is what pushed me away from the frame but overall the frame is really good and fly's well and I'm sure you can mingle something up for it to work for you if your running a single pack of 8000 you may not have any issues but soon as you have 2 4000 packs it's limited on how you can mount them
If your goal id to run large packs for maximum flight time look at a slightly larger frame
Thank you man! I really appreciate your honest opinion. I’m going to keep on looking for my next long range build.
I have these batteries and i need to make a use of them but i only have one long range frame and one day i might loose it. So having a backup one is ideal. The most important for me is to get jello free videos and long flight time so i can cruise my country’s mountains.
All the best 🙏
Would love to see your final tune. I have had problems with jitters around mid throttle or higher. My esc i have configured with the pwm on the low side at (16 )and the high on( by rpm) motor timing on auto. I have tried every preset avalable and still get a jitter after half throttle. I have a Hollybro f7 stack with crossfire locked at 150hertz. The motors are 2807 by 1300kv. I have built many 5 inch drones and tuned them with great success. If anyone has any advice please reply.
There can be so many verable to this, could be a bad gyro, it also could be setup issue Chris has presets you can download for ul7 you can try out.. also try a higher 48khz if your running 24khz
Nice build, what is that single antenna on the rear, above the gsp? What benefit does this have for your build (LR build)?
its a bardpole antenna for RX crossfire this gives the best antenna setup for long range with a imortal T up front and bardpole up back
New subscriber here. Great production value.
Can you please upload the stl's it's not hard. ;-) People will stop asking.
Thank you 🙏. I hate thingiverse the upload process is annoying 🤣 maybe I will I dunno 🤷🏻♂️
@@gazafpv Okay I didn't know it was that hard. Maybe some other platform. We will make our own files in the meantime, with blackjack and hookers.
Any chance of sharing those STL Files?
i have yet to share these i will let people know if i upload them to thingiverse in near future
Why do you have 2 antennas on top and one on back?! What have I missed?
2 antennas are for video for the vtx most hd systems run dual diversity and the rear antenna is for radio link known as crossfire
Hi ..I built an AOS UL7 long range...can you recommend a Betaflight 4.4 preset?...is there also GPS cofiguration?
Thank you!!!!!
Chris rosser the designer of frame has his own presets for this frame check it out.. gps you need to watch tutorials on it needs to be set correctly
Dude, in your experience, how hard the down wash flow blocking by frame can affects the hovering time? Is push configuration more efficient when hovering?
This frame has better restrictions due to design Vs your traditional frame design with thick arms..
But I wouldn't worry about that too much push will always have less restrictions if this concerns you but the benefit will be minimal
Awesome video and flying. I like the gp mount design. Is this your design or u got stl file for it?
thank you, its my own design yes a few people have asked for the files but i dont upload them to thingiverse maybe in future i will
@@gazafpv will be awesome to upload
great video man, i wanted to ask if you have published the 3d print files anywhere? Love these
Thanks mate , I haven't I'm afraid not at the moment
@@gazafpvPlease do.
What is walksnail antenna adapter do you use?
90 degree u.fl to sma
Thanks for sharing, new sub for you bro
Thanks bro 🙌
considering building something similar, however, do you think you get more range with the walk snail system and the DJI 03 air unit. I have heard mixed feelings but am just curious about your take purely on the range aspect. The build looks super aesthetic though.
I can't comment on dji o3 unit as I've not used it but I do see more issues than anything with range on the o3 unit from other people. Walksnail have a better community around it and seems caddax are pushing in right direction by listening to their customers.
But this highly depends what you want there has been some crazy range achieved with walksnail many videos online showing so but it boils down to what you want you won't go wrong with either there is no perfect system out there and there never will be take that with a pinch of salt 🧂
@@gazafpv Very well said, I most definitely going to do more research on walk snail as I know very little. As I am wanting to upgrade from analog I will keep all the options in mind. Thanks!
@@benjaminscordamaglia6031 well i was in the same boat as you a while back and i took a leap at hdzero but it wasn't what i was looking for, It felt unpolished to me, my only other options was walksnail or dji, and i decided to take a leap at walksnail when it was released and i haven't looked back. personally id rather support caddx over dji and ive not really had any issues other than poor quality antennas with vtx once these are replaced its been faultless. but dji is the more popular option out of the 2 due to its massive resources and stable platform.
Where did u get those sma connectors at please?
just take a look at 90deg sma to u.fl plenty out there man this will vary depending where you live
What is the big Tail antenna for ?
Crossfire antenna
Why did you chose the f7 over the f405? I’m having issues with my stack and thinking of replacing with the f405 for 5inch freestyle
F7 is much faster microprocessor over the f405
mind sharing those TPU mount stl files and your tune? also what antennas did you use? the 3 long ones on top - i know that one is for the crossfire diversity
Hey mate I've had a quite few requests for the prints I can't go around individualy sending it to everyone that message me but if I upload them in future I'll make everyone aware 👍
Tune wise you can just run a 7inch preset to get you going and the antennas I'm using are true rc Ans a bardpole antenna
@@gazafpv Understandable - Just put them on thingiverse or printables, I am sure a lot would appreciate it :) Thanks in advance!
got it, thanks 👍🏻
Did you use the camera stabilization or gyroflow?
Gyroflow always 🙏
Hi, I am also building an AOS UL7 - my first ever drone build. What was the product that you painted all over your FC - some kind of insulator/protector? Cheers
MG Chemicals... right?
I am also trying to figure out how to mount ELRS diversity antennae... ?
@@hotkatgotama hi mate I'm using conformal coating mg chemicals but I also use worry free which I prefer over confirmal
@@hotkatgotama I don't use elrs but 3d printing is best way or zip ties
Which brand flux were you using?
Cool build but the colored LED lighting looks hideous. Colored lights should be used in a subtle way to add small accents, not as primary light sources. The lighting inhibited the natural beauty of the frame.
Thank you for input , I will look to improve in future 👍 those led lights wasn't the primary source of light either btw but I understand where your coming from not everyone's cup of tea I know
if you don't mind, whats that software you are using to make your 3d prints?
Fusion 360
@@gazafpv thanks bro!
@@justinsane7832 anytime 👌
what is the maximum weight this drone can carry and how could i increase it slightly?
That highly depends on the setup you choose obviously the carbon has weight limit but the major factor is your motor esc setup
Could you share the stl files?
You can buy the frame: iflight aos ul 7 about 120€
Hi , Which solution do you use on the FC stacks, and why??
Conformal coating as it's easy to remove and identynwhats spots you missed with UV
Also worry free is good option I use that too
@@gazafpv hey I was also wondering about the coating... how would you remove it if something broke ?
@@OneTakeFPV just apply heat and it will melt or you can pick at it and peal it off depending how thick you apply it
What is weight without battery? Thank you
720g without gopro and battery
@@gazafpv Thank you
@@gazafpvnew subscriber here :) I'm interested in that 360 rotating table, link please ?
@@sameerrides thanks for the sub 🙌 you can pick them up on Amazon or eBay just type in photography turn table they will come up 👌😎
@@gazafpv you such a very nice person, thanks a lot 👍🏻❤️
Does this frame allow X8 configuration build?
Nope only x4
Order 4 extra top motor plates. You’ll need to disassemble the arms if you ever need to swap a motor. I don’t think it’s worth it IMHO.
what kind of gps bro?
matek M10-5883
@@gazafpv thanks, what best: iflight m10 or matek m10???
@@arisazumi Matek make best gps in my opinion but some may disagree
Why 1500kv
Why not ? My chimera7 is 1800kv
Gives you more top end if you want to use it for chasing cars or anything with speed but still maintain a decent flight time
@@gazafpv If you wanted to build this specifically for chasing speedwings or cars, what motors do you think you'd run? I'm just starting research on a speed build for that purpose.
I have a flywoo for long range, so I'm not so fussed about duration, I'm looking for sustained speed and agility.
@@sorcererspicnic7052 look at 1700kv, my chimera7 on 1800kv chase cars with ease but I think 1700kv is a good place to be for what you need
@@gazafpv cool, thanks for the tip!
@GDZ actually, do you think this is the right frame for that task?
I figured it was a good option as it has to be more stable at speed with most of the flat surfaces close to the centre of gravity and along the long axis. Paired with the cleaner thrust cone, due to the arms being so thin.
