I like to run grow tips through the best version of bullshit filter I can muster up at my experience level. By doing or not doing a lot of this stuff it might make a 2% difference in quality but was 2% worth the extra work and expense? Best I can do drying is 68 degrees and around 50% rh for example. If I listened to the videos about drying they'd convince me that my attempts to grow are futile because I can't maintain a perfect 60/60. As it turns out, the reality is much more forgiving and 68 degrees at 50% produces good results.

Right . Just grow . You can learn a lot of advanced grow tips but until you have roots of your own nothing on video you tube matters. Try things. If you think it is a good idea and it makes sense in your situation do it. If someone says No or stop and yet you like the results than their advice only goes to far. You know your grow and what it needs most times and online info is not specific to your situation so do what you want. Try new things and have fun with it.

They burn up the nutrition pretty efficiently . The last thing anyone would want is a plant devoid of the proper nutrition . This is an idea by people who overthink grows so they can make videos about does and do nots. Its simply not important . If you want the plant to flush itself you would have to embalm it with water and yuck . its flushing the soil more than the plant .

salt base nutrients is organic too, it's just the feeding over time builds up in the medium so you flushing the medium out not the plant. you won't the plant to eat all the food it have stored in its leaves, the nutrients in soil is the same as powder form or bottle nutes. the diffirents is that powder and bottle nutes is already broken down for the plant to uptake the nutes soon as you feed. the soil nutes are slow release nutes that take time to break down, the only natural ferts in soil is the meals all other ferts in soil is man made process stuff. the meals is in powder and bottle nutes also with the man made process stuff, so it dosen't matter if you use soil or powder or bottled nutes they start off organic but end with the man made process stuff.

I believe you are confusing your terminology, you mean salts are a result of "organic chemistry" ....and as a former student of organic chemistry, I can assure you that organic means "containing carbon" in this situation versus "feeding your plants organically" as that means nutrients made bio available by specific processes of breakdown of multiple and diverse bacteria herd as well as fungal and mycorrhizal innoculants to work in symbiosis to break down nutrients and make them as we said above bio available for nutrients uptake and assimilation by the rhizosphere....essentially your feeding the soil and that performs the natural process that is the opposite of inorganic compounds and chelating processes of production to make the inorganic compounds available by osmosis by diffusion and make the ferts in a concentrated and uptakable and immediately available for (think dead reservoir vs. live reservoir in hydro, or TLO vs inorganic ferts in soil/soiless medium)

I grow photos outdoors in 28 gallon pots. I stop feeding N and double the watering schedule at least two weeks before harvest. The plants transfer what N they have stored in the fan leaves to the buds as they need to. The bottom leaves I haven't already defoliated for air flow turn yellow and fall off. By harvest time it looks like I lollipopped them. This method makes for easier harvest & processing to buds but most importantly it makes for smoother smoke.

Great title. I worry about brix levels. Degrees Brix (symbol °Bx) is a measure of the dissolved solids in a liquid, and is commonly used to measure dissolved sugar content of an aqueous solution. The °Bx is traditionally used in the wine, sugar, carbonated beverage, fruit juice, fresh produce, maple syrup and honey industries. Higher brix makes better smells and taste in cannabis. More water means lower brix levels. And I do make jams and jellies, wine, syrup, and process honey. It's just another tool to use. Lower brix levels take longer to cure. Higher brix levels cure faster.

Personally, I do what I call a "soft flush." I use 2 different calmag one with N and one without. With RO water you HAVE to add calmag back. In veg I use with N in bloom I transition to the no N and cut my base nutes back a little as I introduce a bloom booster. I use fabric pots and almost never get nute spots, unless I water heavy near the sides. I have been growing for three years and have only ever flushed once when I over fed them. Again, works for me and I have never had any hay bud. P.S. Invest in a separate grow tent/area, my bud dries more evenly.

I grow in soil, 5 gallon photos and a couple 2 gallon autos to add variety. Two runs of one or two autos while one or two photos are going. While researching how to grow most channels said flush. I have to RO my well water and store it in jugs so I can’t put a plant in the laundry tub and flush the east way.
I have settled into stopping feeding and alternate between a dash of bloom boost and molasses for the duration. I wouldn’t do much call it a flush as letting the soil starve. Whatever I’m doing is giving me sticky powerful buds.

They're doing fantastic so far🙏 I have no idea if I should, if I even CAN, or even HOW to flush a plant. Reading these comments have got me bonkers again bc seems like everyone is mixing fert in their water as they go and just stop at the end and just give water. I'm already just giving water. Is that what flushing means, just plain water at the end? Cause I'm thinking it's like getting the garden hose and saturating the soil til it runs out of the pot for a while and flush the soil.

If there's something stinky and water soluble in your soil then the plant will take up that stink along with the water so you only need to flush out/ dilute that stinky water soluble stuff or make sure u didnt apply any stinky fert for a week or two depending on your soil mix/ environment.

The danger is osmotic pressure. Youve been running high ppm and you run water and everything swells so much it ruptures the cell walls and you dont want to do that. You want to eliminate nitrogen from your mix keep feeding P and K and a lot of Cal/mag has N in it so pull that too and go from whatever 1200 or 1000 ppm to 700 then down to 500 or 600 then down to 400 and at that point your looking good and maybe another round of 2 or 300 and then you can run water. Plants do not uptake your nutrient solution ok...not in the same way you would imagine if you drank it... one exception is Nitrogen and Si also but all the tertiary and the primary nutrients are taken up into the plant as atoms or in the case of iron it oxidizes in the soil it rusts and when it does ions of iron fly off and the plant uptakes those ions...what flushing accomplishes is the removal of nitrogen and then the reduction of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is going to be more present with more nitrogen and calcium and magnesium. So yes it is better but perhaps think of it as a bio stimulant or a technique the help ripening rather than flushing like a toilet. Your nutrient mix doesn't go up into the plant and running water doesn't flush nutrients out of the plant either.

I’ve been growing for 15 years. This is a complicated topic. My simple answer is this. With organics I personally don’t believe in flushing. My experience with Rockwool is that I 100% flush. I also know that the nutrient companies are absolutely full of shit. Still not very much regulation. Just a fun fact. Cannabis is the most over fertilized plant in America. I’ve looked at several grow over the years trying to figure out what issues they are having. 95% of the time they are overwatering or over fertilized. As far as overwatering goes. I simply explain to them. Does it rain everyday? Short answer is no. Properly prepared soil shouldn’t need much of anything but water. I also explain that if you follow nutrient feeding schedule you will most like burn the living daylights out of your plants. It’s all a learning curve. That’s my two cents for what it’s worth. Be awesome. Dro Bro out.

There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't flush it doesn't hurt the plant in the last two weeks of flower.
That being said tapering your nutrients up towards flower from vegetation from start and then tapering it down towards late flower is the way to go as far as I'm concerned if you're using synthetic nutrients.
If you're using all organic or veganic nutrients it's kind of hard to do that because there's no real measurement going on your top dressing and what not with different amendments.
That being said there's a lot of organic growers saying they don't have to flush tapering your nutrients down towards the end of the life cycle for cannabis will make it taste better as far as I'm concerned I've done this I've run hydro and dirt and I always flush certainly doesn't cost me any money because I'm only using RO water I don't notice any significant difference in yield but I do notice a significant difference in terpene production and quality.
That's only one part of the puzzle though light cycles and light strength is super important especially when you're getting down to the final week or two of flowering One would think you would need more light that is incorrect You're going to do more harm than good and lose those good turps.
I like to add a little bit of blue or reintroduce it at the end of flower I feel this again helps terpene production and preserves it.
That being said anyone that's growing any type of plant can do what they want with it it's their plant and they're the ones growing it do what you want to All I know is my cannabis always burns bright white ash it is not harsh and the terpenes are always there especially when handled properly when drying and curing and then after that keeping it in jars at the right temperature with no light.
    😊

I flush autos because they seem to like it . I do not do it with the gush technique though. Simply tube feed the roots about 5ml of rain water or lake water every other day for the last week and a half and they seem to like it. I do not think they are taking up nutrients at that last point anyways but they do take up water . Photos no reason to as they have developed slower through and seem to use up a lot more of the fertilizer in the soils. The idea is almost silly . the reality it you are just destroying the soil so it is blank and useless for any other grow . Another good way to grow the Nitrogen out of your soil at the end it to plant Chi seeds about 2 weeks before you harvest .on the top of your planter soil. Works better than anything as most of the extra fertilizer will be absorbed by the Chia grass as it get propagated. Plus any invisible Borg hiding among the refer buds they will move off your plants and onto the fresh Chi grass as well if you have pests. I really like just Chi Chi Chia planting 2 weeks before harvest over any other flush. It redirects extra to that really well . Good growing.
