The definition of a weed is an unwanted plant in a garden. Cannabis is now a production crop when you are growing it for a living to pay your bills. When you have invested substantial amounts of money and are trying to make a decent living in a competitive industry then testing different climates isn't exactly over thinking it. I agree different lineages require different climates, drybacks and ect. I also find testing out what works and making subtle changes is the most interesting part of the job. Compared to other production crops cannabis is just getting started in terms of potential and their will hopefully be alot more research to come. Bruce in my opinion is a national treasure and a huge benefit to anyone in this industry with skin in the game trying to grow and compete

It's been super hot highest temp so far (greenhouse) 128.3 f/45.5c and the plants are absolutely killin it praying up all day. They've streached a bit and I'm constantly topping them. This time of year I can get 10" a week growth rate. Cross is "Gorilla Glue" × Land race "Foxtail." 🌴🙏🌴

Yep. It’s possible to slow the stretch down with lights out temps close to lights on temps (~ 2 degrees). Agree as well to start to slowly drop lights on temps on day 1, and be in the mid 70s by about week 3-4 till finish. I’ll go as far as shutting off the heat when there’s a coupla weeks to harvest, and only let lights on temps to 70-71 till harvest (lights off temps 66-67) Merry happy
roots love 68* F. Rdwc room temp 75 *F veg 70*F for budding, in a 10 gallon rubbermaid trash can, 7 gallons of water for the massive root ball , drill a 3/4 hole for the over flow at water level 1/2 " below basket. Run overflow hose to a 2 gal bucket , use a pump with a float , run hose back to resivour a 33 gal rubbermade brute trashcan or drain. Use 3 large air stones in each grow pod and a 600 gph pump. Bag pump with 5 - one gallon paint filters bags, On each pump. This keeps the roots out of the return pump. Skip using big pipes that clog. Use 4 pumps in the resivour 1 pump to grow pod 😮 Setting timer to go on 3 times a day until water just starts to come out overflow . 1 - 800 gph to circulate water every hour for 15 minutes . 1- 400 gph for water chiller, get a 44 gal chiller, use 3 air stones in the resivour Cut hose same length.

"Start warm and cool it off" just like nature will do, April May June July August hot which in some area of Europe is equivalent to the vegetative period, around mid-August the plants begin to flower arriving in mid-September to be around the fourth week of flowering, at that point normally the temperatures begin to drop right in the last 4 weeks of flower maturation, arriving in mid-October with temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees maximum, perfect for harvesting and the beginning of drying ,very often it is enough to observe and copy mother nature to get the best results😃
I'm in the foothills of central Calif. and have all my plants, Photo Period outside. The temps are nuts right now! It has been in the high 70s and right now it is 58 and starting to rain! Two of my plants are in flower. I'm very concerned but they seem to be taking it in stride!
I believe it does matter. The "stress" generated by the t° dropping every night helps the plant to be more resilent, they grow thicker stems and leaves. Always aim to be at least 16° at night, and no more than 23° at day. (celsius) Just an opinion.

Youre on the right track but low humidity doesn't eliminate. It prevents. The best way to avoid issues is with proper circulation. It's not the low humidity. I run in the high 70% RH in mid flower and never had PM. Late veg high 70s, Low 80s with OGs and good (notorious for PM). So for readers, the key is FLOW. I wouldn't be surprised if low humidity with low flow would cause issues too
i dont run higher than 65% and have good air flow. Low risk of bud rot and mold issues. Even with good air flow, your lung room eventually can not handle the high humidity
Mould will still grow in low humidity because the bud density is humid inside, high temperatures and too much light will cause bud to rot, so can contamination from dust, or insects. For sure low humidity helps and airflow is crucial but that's not the whole story. Genetics make a big difference here too. Pure sativa and sativa dominant plants are must less likely to rot. Because sativa genetics originate from conditions often humid and hot. Indicas are effectively hash plants and most of those genetics originate in low humidity desert like places, Afghan, Lebanon etc. They typically grow dense to preserve moisture and rot easily when grown in wetter conditions.
i live on the shores of lake huron which stays cold and offers cool nights all summer. average daytime is in the 70s to low 80s. 50/50 coco and soil and just miracle grow. ive noticed they are thirsty with the mulch, and thrive in the cool night time temps . lots of sun too and lollyypop and occasional defole. alot of nights the plants are soaked with dew. something no one mentions.
I drop my temps to 22 - 23•c the last week and a half of flower. Always keep humidity at 60% right until the end and never have an issue. I find with these powerful led lights, my plants like slightly higher RH but temps need to be hotter in veg and early flower
I run a fixed temp in my lung room and the inside temp of my tent fluctuates 5 degrees (70-75 f) with the light cycle. My lights ballast is outside the tent. 5x5 tent, mars hydro FC-8000 Evo light. Week 6 flower.
I think when they say cooler temps at night is to bring out the colors. And only in later flower. My indoor temps fluctuate quite a bit from multiple factors but I still get quite good outcomes every time as long as everything else is on point. Right now, I'm running about 80 - 85F during the day (mostly later day) and about 60 - 70F at night in late flower. Mostly because of the light warming the tent. And because my grow is in my bedroom and I like to sleep in cooler temps. Definitely helps with bringing color out
to bring out the color of the plant you want temps of 60 F and lower, which is only used very close to harvesting when your plants is not growing or producing trichomes anyway. lower than 70F your cannabis plants will start to hibernate
Depends on genetics as well massively im growing mimosa and that does not like anything above 26C in veg and around 23-24c week 3 until harvest and at night 18-20c is good brings the purps out for sure under 20c

It was legalised in Germany in April this year and suddenly we have a ton of experts trying to school you in the basics that they read and never experienced themselves. I had a long discussion with someone because I have more than 45% humidity in flowers. He was 100% sure it would get mouldy. I have been working with not only the same strain but the same flower for almost 3 years. I have never had a mouldy bud. But why should I know? I only had it in flower about 20 times.

Terpenes are a measurable VOC. There is no study that says lower temps lead to more terpenes, it’s about avoiding high temperature. Different things. As temp goes up you begin to volatilize off the terpenes at different temperatures. If you can smell your plant, your plant and terpenes are being volatilized. The same VOCs in plants have been exhaustively studied in chambers for decades. Raising temperatures from 23C to 35C, you will see a drastic increase in TVOC. Also, I will never understand why people post “don’t overthink things” in RESEARCH. Hey dummies, research is the EXACT place to overthink things.

Its not air temperature that makes terpines evaporate tho, it's the temperature of the plant material.. What I'm saying is, if you grow with LEDs you need the higher temperatures to get the plants transpiration going.. With HPS, you're right, 75f or so is the right temp, since HPS has a shit ton of infrared light which doesn't heat up the ambient air but the leaves and buds
The leaf surface temp has to be 81-82° F if using 900 + ppfd in flower for an indoor grow. I've also had some gg#4 finish in July outside and it was almost white from the amount of THC resin. It was up to 90° F daily. That cold shit is not good at all

It's fairly obvious that some cannabis genetic respond differently to others regards light, temperature, 'diff', humidity etc and that there is not a singular answer to questions like 'what's the best temperature?'. Best for what? Pure Kerala? Afghan from the desert? Pakistani from the low Himalaya? Thai from Chiang Mai? Sativa from Lesotho, or Zamal, or Panama? Different genetics different answers. Look at their native environments.

A negative temperature differential can slow stretch, letting night temps be equal to day or even slightly higher. Neat trick i learned years back.

I used to just run metal halides for the first 2 weeks and then switch to HPS and that slowed stretch but not i run Gavitas.

PM has a hard time at temps in the 80s. PM likes low 70s though. You need auto watering in the 80s unless you like guessing dry back.

Its not air temperature that makes terpines evaporate tho, it's the temperature of the plant material.. What I'm saying is, if you grow with LEDs you need the higher temperatures to get the plants transpiration going.. With HPS, you're right, 75f or so is the right temp, since HPS has a shit ton of infrared light which doesn't heat up the ambient air but the leaves and buds

The leaf surface temp has to be 81-82° F if using 900 + ppfd in flower for an indoor grow. I've also had some gg#4 finish in July outside and it was almost white from the amount of THC resin. It was up to 90° F daily. That cold shit is not good at all

It's fairly obvious that some cannabis genetic respond differently to others regards light, temperature, 'diff', humidity etc and that there is not a singular answer to questions like 'what's the best temperature?'. Best for what? Pure Kerala? Afghan from the desert? Pakistani from the low Himalaya? Thai from Chiang Mai? Sativa from Lesotho, or Zamal, or Panama? Different genetics different answers. Look at their native environments.
