I'm a new inexperienced autoflower grower using a soil medium. The pictures and deficiency explanations and fertilizer recommendations are just what I needed to understand what my plant is lacking. I definitely have a potassium deficiency. How long does the recommended fertilizer take to correct the deficiency? I'm in mid-flower, is there enough time to correct the deficiency in an autoflower plant? Will the fertilizer correct the yellow coloring in the affected leaves or just prevent the deficiency in more leaves? Also, can a plant have a compound deficiency and how would you treat them? Thank you for the informative video. Time has passed since the posting of this video, but maybe someone watches the video and can help. Thanks again.
The quicker you catch the problem the less time it will spend deficient. In some cases leaves will green-up in other cases you are trying to prevent progression of the issue.

Wow thank you for this incredibly informative video. It just popped up in my feed, and I'm just about to plant, so it was a very happy coincidence for me because you illustrated a lot of conditions that have plagued me over the years, and now I understand them all, after watching a 7 minute video. I do enjoy RUclipsrs who put on a show, but sometimes I just want information and you did not waste one second, and used images to make the problems completely recognizable. You're a great educator. Cheers!
Yeah great. Question you didn't answer is why these deficiency occur. Usually over fed, over watered, root bound or unable to uptake nutrients due to infection. All these deficiencies should not be present if your a competent grower. Pretty simple know what your doing. Bottled nutrients companies are a big part of the problem. So is over hydration. Two biggest issues right there.
Agree with you. This is good, basic overview. Seeing blossom end rot in tomatoes doesn't necessarily mean add more calcium. It could be plant isn't taking up calcium due the improper pH . There could be other factors I'm ignorant to. Consider more than one reason for the deficiency, and you'll be better off.
It is hard to cover all of the potential causes, so this video provides you with the ability to properly diagnose the problem so than the grower can evaluate their practices and make changes. The key though is to start with a proper diagnosis.
Chelated fertilizers are ones that tend to be more stable and also in a form that is more efficient for plant uptake. While there can be some increased cost this is often minimal in comparison of the potential damage a nutrient deficiency can cause. You mention an iron deficiency and in this is an immobile nutrient which makes finding a chelated form of even higher importance. This is because this nutrient (along with other immobile nutrients such as Ca, S, B, Cu) can be more difficult to translocate (move) in a plant so it is harder to get these to the portion of the plant that needs the fertilizer. In your case liquid forms of iron supplementation that is chelated would be recommended. Hope this helps.
Awesome video. I always flush with plain water in the ph range specific to the nutrient im lacking. Usually can fix the issue without adding additional nutes 9 times out of 10
If you are having to flush on a regular basis, you may want to look closer at your feeding schedule as there could be a way to avoid the problem in the first place.
@@DeBaccoUniversity thanks. I dont have to and am only using naturally derived products but ive noticed ph lockout causes more problems than deficiencies for people even though everyone wants to just throw more product at their plants
This is a highly informative video and I appreciate you taking the time to make this. I thought I was having nutrient deficiency issues for a year and it turns out I was using too much light I was running a 630 watt double ended CMH fixture in a 4x4 tent. If you can't figure out your nutrient deficiency issues and you're blasting your plants with light that might be the reason
The besides the lights to strong they just make the plant eat more, also another factor be your plants pot isn't big enough for the star of plant being between to fast well
My leaves look healthy but there kind of a contrast in lime green and yellow there growing at proper speeds not sure if it’s a sulfur deficiency or it’s just genetics.
I have a liquid chelated iron sulfate (sometimes listed as Ferrous Sulfate) product. There are many different manufactures the key is to look at and read the label of any product you are considering as it will state chelated iron sulfate. As a point of reference the one I have is 5% iron and 3% sulfur. Best of luck avoiding an iron deficiency.
@@DeBaccoUniversity I am having some difficulty looking for a dried chelated form of iron that would be safe for my organic grow. Would you perhaps know of something that would work for me? I'm looking to use it in a foliar spray but I'm unfamiliar in this topic. There is not much info out there for treating cannabis iron deficiency with chelated iron foliar sprays. Thanks in advance!
I personally would suggest you go with a liquid iron product that is part of a liquid feed. Take caution when making foliar applications and start with a diluted rate that is less than manufacturer recommendations. Also avoid applications that are made under high pressure, time of peak light intensity and on newly growing foliage. Finding an organic source may be a challenge especially depending on what organic standards you may be using. Some of the better products for foliar applications will also have a nitrogen source. Any other question let me know.
If you are haveing troubles with your grow the very first thing you need to learn is how to stabilize your ph,,,,in hydro grows the cause for 99% of problems are caused by ph swings,,learn how to stabilize ph then you eliminate 90% of your problems,,then you start really growing
You are correct and knowing what the pH can be part of some growers battle, so getting a quality monitor should be part of the growing item check list.
DeBacco University is working on compiling information from both cannabis and tomato trials looking at specific nutrients deficiencies and one toxicity. These trials are difficult to conduct and take time, but quality results were obtained and will be shared as individual videos. So, subscribe to the channel and stay tuned for the updates.
You recommended "chelated forms of iron" for iron deficiency and did not dedicate much discussion to the effects of Ph, high Phosphorous and no discussion of over watering. I would suggest that an actual iron deficiency in the soil is less likely that some form of lockout due to other causes.
The points you mention are worth consideration, but the growing media selected (even soil vs soilless mix) can also have a great impact so the attempt was made to provide general information for classification of an iron deficiency compared to other issues.
🌴 Question 🌴 Why would I get white mold on leaves ?? Spotting on my new strain ( indica ) Smells like a mold , and keeps happening. I cleaned , I flushed and rebuild everything,but..
I use to use a really complicated home made nutrient schedule but now I just use 3 part advanced nutrient micro, Grow and bloom with green planet pro cal and big bud. Easier and the ph always comes out perfect or very close

I thought I was having nutrient deficiency issues for a year and it turns out I was using too much light I was running a 630 watt double ended CMH fixture in a 4x4 tent. If you can't figure out your nutrient deficiency issues and you're blasting your plants with light that might be the reason
This would be classified as an abiotic stress..... ruclips.net/video/ahI4wGSrFpk/видео.html
I thought the lights were burning them too...right!?
The besides the lights to strong they just make the plant eat more, also another factor be your plants pot isn't big enough for the star of plant being between to fast well
This is super informative!
Glad it was helpful!
You’re the best for providing such clear info in a straight to the point way

Amazing info! Greetings from Argentina ♥
Thanks for the comment and great to hear the video has been seen in Argentina!
Excellent video
Excellent comment!
Totally AMAZING! Thank you growerz✌🌿😁 - a little TMI for me. I'm heading to a dispensary💚
The more you know the better!
My leaves look healthy but there kind of a contrast in lime green and yellow there growing at proper speeds not sure if it’s a sulfur deficiency or it’s just genetics.
Add some Epsom Salts at the rate of 1 TBS per gallon every other feeding for 7 days. If no change than likely just genetics.
Thx this helped me out a lot
Hopefully, this will help you be preventative going forward or at least knowing what issue you may be having.
Very informative yet simple enough for idiots like myself to understand many thanks 👍 (Mn)
The goal is education so it sounds like mission accomplished.
@@DeBaccoUniversity Very much so, Happy, health and 💪, once again thank you and keep your self safe.
On the topic of Iron Deficiency what would the 'chelated forms of iron' be in regards to fertilizers? Thanks!
Great info. Thanks

Living soil. Never had to ph.
Wow super 💕 nice work brother 👍👍
You are welcome!
Really helpful, thanks a lot
One love
You are welcome, glad you found it helpful.
tnx explained real good but can you show us also lockdowns on some elements or when its too much of specific elements.tnx alot
DeBacco University is working on compiling information from both cannabis and tomato trials looking at specific nutrients deficiencies and one toxicity. These trials are difficult to conduct and take time, but quality results were obtained and will be shared as individual videos. So, subscribe to the channel and stay tuned for the updates.
very very good i like you
At least there is one out there.....
Well done..
Well stated!
🌴 Question 🌴
Why would I get white mold on leaves ??
Spotting on my new strain ( indica )
Smells like a mold , and keeps happening.
I cleaned , I flushed and rebuild everything,but..
Treat select leaves daily with hydrogen peroxide product to see if that stops the problem from occurring.
Best Information on Deficiencies. you Covered a LOT and even showed example's how it looks.. Great Video
Thanks for the comment and glad you liked the videos. Hopefully you do not see any of these issues with your plants.
Hello i want to do a question, can i cut the yellow flower of the plant?or it would damage the plant?for example on 5 week of floracion,,thanks
Cutting a flower off the plant should not cause major damage to the plant.
Amazing video!! Great job!
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed it.
You didn’t mention silica, which is important as trichomes are made of up of a large percentage of silica.
Not often is this a deficiency in plants.
I use to use a really complicated home made nutrient schedule but now I just use 3 part advanced nutrient micro, Grow and bloom with green planet pro cal and big bud. Easier and the ph always comes out perfect or very close
Sometimes simplicity can lead to increased yields;-)
What do I do if I'm starting to get PM on my outdoor plant with 2 weeks to harvest?
This DeBacco University video may help you... ruclips.net/video/mw6-Lcv6brg/видео.html
This was so beyond helpful to understand what may be going when we hit a bump along our journey to produce a good harvest. Personally, this is my 4th go around and probably my best one yet. Thanks for the knowledge.
