Yes this is what I am doing. Pheno hunt. Lol just didn’t realize that’s what it was called for sure lol. With stage 4 cancer I have found three different strains that work well for me. All old school. I have raised so many to try. I just tried Lusty Lady and love the effects. My problem is getting that skunky/diesel taste that I love. So I have been experimenting for the past five years. It’s been fun but as I said before, if I had seen the show it wouldn’t have took me five years to learn all this. Lol lol lol lol. I also saw F1/F2 and didn’t know what it was. Thanks for the info on that. Auto are pretty easy but I cannot keep a perpetual crop with them. iI you come close you have to keep a pretty good amount of seeds. Cloning is much simpler for me and I always get a bigger harvest with photos. I can get a lot out of one 10 dollar seed. Great show man.

Where are you getting $10 seeds from, please tell me. I purchased seeds from seed connection from Phoenix Az. But it was way to much money for me. $130 for 15 seeds that didn’t even sprout. Only got one plant from that purchased. Please tell me where to go for seeds, please and thank you! God bless us all, in more ways than one!

using grow dots in buffered coco perlite with worm castings and just gave them a little recharge at a week and a half old... they loved it!

Great video. About 6 Years age, I was growing White Widow and Train wreck in the same tent. Big mistake, the Train Wreck plant was trying to take over the tent. I tried low stress training, topping, cropping, supper cropping...... just trying to keep it under control. I must have over stressed it because 4 weeks into the flower cycle I opened the tent and saw these little yellow banana shaped flowers forming all over the Train wreck plant. At first I panicked, but I decided I was going to become a breeder. ( if I wanted to or not) So I continued to feed the white widow and got ride of the Train wreck plant. end result was about 4000 ripe seeds that produce huge yields. sometimes you can turn a disaster upside down, and turn it into a good thing.

Most my neighbors would hate me if i had a plant go male and produce pollen, regardless of indoors or outdoors that pollen is gonna get everywhere lol.
Lots of folks in my neighborhood have grows and unfortunately male plants are quite frowned upon, as cool as it'd be to make a few crosses i dont wanna ruin my neighbors crops.
Like my next door neighbors son was beaten within an inch of his life and his MJ is his medication for all the nerve damage/painful nerve firing, and i dont wanna eff it up for him ya'know?

I just started back growing. Got a few different seeds from a friend. One set is a Tangie BX2 Auto fem. And another set is a Tennessee whiskey Kush Fem . And the last set is a Vietnamese Mango Auto flower. Trying to find something that I like to branch off to start growing independently. My Vietnamese Mango is now in flower and I have 1 of the Tangie BX2 that just went into flower. The other Tangie BX2 's (5 other plants) are still in Veg. The Tennessee whiskey Kush is growing slow and getting full. And on a side note I'm growing in Northern Florida and outside and full organic. Learning about the different types that are out there is interesting to me . And your giving me great information thank you for the help

Twenty-one days is the earliest that I've had them flower. It definitely makes for a quick turnover.

Noobie grower here. Started with autos just bcz they position them easy to grow for novice. During last 10 weeks I've learned a lot about cannabis and growing it. Needles to say I'm so eager to harvest it and roll it up.
Hey I've got a master grower technique that's new and unconventional but the results speak for themselves, I don't know the science behind it but anyway.
Seeds- ya simple place yur germinating seeds on the south end of a magnet n it increases the growth /health of the plant/sprout.
Try testing the theory you'll c the diff.
Another magnet trick ,,,take a circular /donut magnet n place it at the base of yur plant with the plant in the center of said magnet ,test the magnet to find north n south orientation .
North up increases yield north down increases root Mass or the other way around can't remember for sure lol..
Tip ...speaker magnet is a good candidate .
Not sure if you're interested, but I've got a personal cross I've done of (Gelato X AK48 fem) X (Male) Banana Berry Kosher Kush OG. They are regular seeds. They've got this weird crazy smell. It's like a mix of skunky berries and then there's one pheno that smelled like a mcd's cheese burger, really weird. Tested out around 22%thc. I didn't get a terp test as I only have a Purple Pro. But yeah I love breeding and pheno hunting.

I watched a video a few years back and where some people were just pollinating limb just with a bag with pollin and get all the seeds they needed

I like how uniform femseeds grow look so different from what mine have look like for all my growing years first time growing fem seeds
Just good breeding is all. It's like each year they get better and better. Also the packages of seeds are better now which makes them more viable to start

They have privatized the industry so this is the only way we can take this plant back. Nice to see a guy give advice who has grown more than 10 plants. I would love to hear you review some cultivars that you get from a nursery. Simply because then, i could literally get the exact same plant... alot of variation in alot of seeds.

I have 18 different cultivars only 1 grew from seed. The rest i got from a nursery. I use to do the seed hunts, way easier doing already selected clones
I get a lot of my cuts from friends and they are not always something that could be picked up and a nursery.

F1 is 2 strains that breed true in 50% or more of the offspring , That are not related or share any genetics crossed together (IE Dogs : Boxer x Rotty)
F2 is brother and sister bred together from a pack of seed , cross brother and sister from these u get F3 and so on if u repeat the process
Bx is when u take a strain and back cross to a parent
Ix is a incross when u breed back to a relative of a parent
IBL is a inbred line . So each generation of seed made is inbred back to the first generation selection
Polly Hybrids Would be 2 strains that DONT breed true in 50% or more offspring bred together (IE in dog this would be a MUTT x MUTT)
Open pollinate: Allowing more then 1 male or female or both to be used in breeding of a single strain (using all males and females in a pack of seed to make a F2)
Selective breeding: Means selecting 1 male or female or both when doing a breeding project (selecting one male one female from a pack of seeds to make a F2)

Hey Scott, there are at least 16 species of cannabis. ALL hops are cannabis. Also, hemp fiber used for rope and weaving. Japanese cannabis is an ornamental flower. And there are at least 10 more known wild species without any commercial value.

FYI- grow a male. Harvest the pollen, add pollen to only one branch ...tag and get seed from only that branch. Grow after grow...

@@dmo848 a lot of the weed i get from the dispo was outdoor grown, and as such sometimes it is quite seedy and even sold at a major discount (dont know what strain pollinated em unfortunately) but man oh man i get excited to see seeds now that im not paying $300 an OZ.
Bought a bunch of dime bags off amazon to start my seed collection, got about 28 oz of different strains to currently select seeds from lol. Some may only have three or four seeds, others might have 50+.
Its just the X variable of the male pollen that makes them not truly what they're labled, they're all likely crosses of something. Some similar grow batch dates that are very seedy could've potentially even have been pollinated by the same male plant. Its just a big mystery, and without costly genetic testing ill probably never know. Guess ill just label em all as "Known strain × Cannabis X" crosses
Scotty, last episode you talked about increasing yield. One idea If someone is running veg and flower in the same tent is having some autos in there during veg and once you harvest those flip to 12/12 for your photos. Thanks for all the wisdom your channel is great!

Another fun thing i learned from TPB is excess medicine can be used as a trade or barter system for other stuff. Make some hash coins and use em as currency etc haha.
So instead of trying to stablize a strain through seed, you can take a cut and continue the same genetics?

The autoflower thing may not always be passed on in crosses. I have some bubblegum fast seeds that apparently have some Ruderalis genetics, but they are not autoflowers - they are photoperiod plants.

Yes, but Recharge will fix a small amount of Nitrogen so it is best to stopping using it at the end of week 5.

If you have the time breeding is easy and fun and cash saving I started back in 87 in UK no seed banks but 3 inHolland Sensie Seeds {Fakers] Positronics Real deal Werner the owner really nice guy and of course the SSL Super Sativa club using Neville the LEGEND original Haze but they had gone to ground so I travelled 3 continents for super landrace strains ironically the beast beans I got were from Humboldt NOR CAL not landrace but I crossed them with all my collection and by chance created a unicorn back in 90 there were no shops seedbanks in UK but I love to breed as you never know what your gonna get you may have the next OG KUSH or SKUNK No1 in your seed jar I highly recommend it

Amazed to find I still had many seeds in freezer back in 2009 , I planted some & they all grew beautifully. Colas were huge.
Very tall if allowed to veg. 3 months, nice old fashioned smells & tastes. Mothers Finest early flowers are like huge cotton buds.
Tried growing the auto flowers 3yrs ago,, they definitely not similar strengths, but interesting experience.

Wow you're one of the only people wizened enough to know of those 2classic strains my Haze cross with Cali orange still took 13 weeks to finish I'm AMAZED to hear that some of your seeds were still viable I must have lost so many cos I didnt think after so long I hope you managed to keep them going .as I still haven't had a stronger strain even though I bred it back in 91 .Really great to hear from someone who knows about these ancient classics Much RESPECT and ALL the Best.@@suzycat2026

I just wish seeds werent up to $10 a bean nowadays, i regret not buying more way back when they were like a dollar or two a pop.
Still got the ten pack of Original Blueberry i bought with cash and a stamped envelope before i ever had a CC, I just couldn't pop em because my county did grow enforcement with the chopper. Looking for guerrilla grows and thermal hot spots from grow lights. Now im in a med/rec state and can grow, and might see if they're still viable after all these years. Bought em from Canada when i was 16 and I'll be 27 tomorrow, brought em all the way from Florida and up to Colorado. They've been on a long journey and its time they get used i think lol.
Maybe ill veg em out for cloning or mother stock, and seek out more seed stock for a true male. Dont necessarily want to try to make a male from a clone and risk inbreeding.

Scotty, or anyone else who can help. I bought some seeds from Seed Supreme and and so for, that has been a total waste of time. No germination. Do you have any suggestions on where I can buy better quality seeds. Maybe it's my fault, but I don't believe it is.
I got Northern Lights Feminized from seedman I grew them outside. All 5 germinated and all were female. Almost at harvest now. I can't complain. 5x5 plants. Good luck.
I don't know...my autoflowers get me high AF so I don't know why anyone would complain about that!!! I just started growing again last year and I'm about to try my first photo period grow within the next month or so! Excited!
Definitely a fun hobby. You will like autos better as they jus grow so fast. Photos are slower but u can mess up a bunch of times and still have a great harvest.
If autoflowers get you high as fuck, wait till you grow some legit photo strains lol don't go getting seeds from fuckin crop king or blimburn or ilgm or any other white label outfit, treat yourself, spend a decent amount from a solid breeder and watch the night and day difference in quality. Autoflower plants don't win cannabis cups, autoflower doesn't occupy the rec market or the medicinal market, that should indicate to you that autos aren't special, they're ONLY benefit is you don't have to worry about light cycle, which if you have a timer you already don't have to worry about light cycle lol set the timer and you're good for fuck sakes lol

It depends on if you purposely induced the plant to throw male flowers by using chemicals or did the plant throw male flowers due to stress. If it was due to stress, such as heat stress or under or over watering, then there is a high chance the offsprings will herm. This is why breeders must always test grow their seeds using stress methods before they put them out for sale. Sadly however, not all breeders do this.

if you let it pollenate itself you will run it issues, but If you pollenate another plant of another clone of the same plant your seeds will be Fems

Lots of really great information! I would plant fems with a mix of autos and photos whenever I get the chance to grow. I think if we ever go legal I would go nuts planting indoors and outdoors lol. I would want to plant 20 or 30 different strains like I do with tomatoes and peppers but I know that isn't realistic lol. Thanks for sharing!
you'd drive yourself nuts with plant management differences and just strain variety overload on the dry, cure and store side.... have fun if you get the chance

I am new to growing and accidentally watered my feminized plants with a high ph 8.6 and the nyc diesel turned into a male and pollinated my maui wowie, kush mintz, runtz layer cake and then realized my ph was high and lowered it to 6.5 so they were able to survive and now i have seeds in the 3 that i listed above that stayed female..i wasnt trying to do that it all happened by accident lol. I am collecting those seeds and putting in separate containers and keeping in fridge.
Ur not gonna turn ur plants into males from watering with high ph lol you might of caused it to hermie but I doubt that to fem seeds don't turn into males like that lol you might cause nutrient lockout with wring ph but turn a female into a male I don't think so!!!
Did the plant have buds and pollen sacks? Or just pollen sacks?

@@CannaCrafter the nyc diesel had buds that were trying to develop but were not looking good bc of the high ph it wasn't able to take up all the nutrients needed..I watered with a high ph for about 8 weeks..about 3-4 weeks into flower is when I noticed and changed ph back to 6.5. One day I accidentally bumped the plant and saw a bunch of pollen fall from it and that's when I noticed the pollen sacs
You can't turn a female seed into a male plant most likely one male seed got mistakenly put in your order

Purple caper is legit as far as I know, haven't grown em myself but seen plenty grows of their gear online

I crossed Blimburn's Forbidden Fruit with Barney's Farm's Pineapple Express and Im just a small home grower. I love breeding and for some reason I get more males than fem. My milkshake apparently brings all the dudes to the yard.
My ILGM seeds don't tell you F2 or F3 or F4?
And the phenotypes will differ from them. Mine have for sure.

Okay hold up. No, there is some confusion here on the whole f1, f2, and f3 thing being said here. He's right an f1 seed is the first generation of a brand new cross. f2 and f3 and the consecutive generation. But he says to avoid high f# seeds and it is actually the opposite. Just by what you say... the higher f generations seed are more likely to contain the traits that you want in the plant. If you imagine the traits on like a normal distribution chart, you are pushing the traits you dont want to the ends and the traits you do want towards the middle, meaning you are more likely to get the traits that you are selecting for. That f# tells you how much work that breeder has put into that strain by growing 100's of plants each generation and selecting for the best traits. You actually want the higher f# because you are more likely to get what the breeder wants you to get out of the seed. f1 seeds are more hit or miss because they haven't selected for any of the traits yet. What they are really doing when It comes down to it is increasing the % of offspring that will contain the traits you want in the plant. It's like survival of the fittest, when an advantageous trait allows a species to adapt to its environment better then it is more likely to reproduce and so that trait increases in the population. We are doing the exact same thing but we are hand selecting the best traits! Hopefully that clears up some stuff.
How do you use grow dots in dwc
Take crosses that are f1 pop a couple packs and run open population seeding taking them to f2 run those and that is where you will find the unicorns f2 will be most diverse
From that you take the unicorn cut to f3 then find what's closest to that unicorn in f4 f5 ect running bx to the unicorn you found in the f2 or you can bx to the parent cut from the original cross depending on what your trying to bring to the front

I'll be the first to admit it's harder for me to start from seed I haven't given up on trying I think it's the temperature they need that I can't get right floating in water and paper towel technique no issues once they go in the soil that's when things go down hill
Seedlings only really need 18-23°C, if you get to 26°C they fry

That's a good possibility soil was just to strong I was using old dirt from last year grow so I thought without testing it would be good to use shouldn't have had anything in it from the 2 weeks of flushing but anything is possible
I grew Og kush and white widow together and after harvesting I came up with a lot of seeds. I put them in capsuls. I'm planning on growing them but i dont want to waiste my time growing male plants. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. They both were feminized from seedsman,and one hit would keep me for atleast 6 hours,so good it was scary. Also it was my first grow and i made a ton of mistakes.
WhiteKush,? OGWidow? Sounds like what White Fire is but I could be wrong. Anyway it will be dank. Except a year before you get your mom sorted out. Time consuming but worth it.
if all the plants produced pollen sacs the seeds would most likely have the same issues in flower as these. If one plant hermed and the others didn't those could be fine, it really depends on your needs and desires. if you have the ability of grow them out and experiment then go for it, but if you have a small grow and are trying to produce medicine for yourself then I would say don't mess with them.

scoty i have a question hoping you can answer if a land race is uncross unmessed around with geneticly and keeps breeding with it self over and over is this not a IBL or is this how landrace's get there names thru crossing with their siblings?

@@ScottyReal420 thanks. I have 3 good plants that I'm gonna cross, 2 lack terpene flavor but has good resin and stone high, the 1 has good terpene and gets u stoned also, crossing those plants. I crossed some other plants with very nice terpene smells, still lacks the flavor in the resin tho and don't get u any type of high. Althonit smells like cat urine.
