    Got 4500 lumen 5500k 3ft shop lights on clearance from Walmart, 4.50$ each. They grow leafy greens all the way through harvest at 90-95% as effective as my $150 grow lights

    • @nikushim6665
      @nikushim6665 7 месяцев назад +2

      I'm skeptical of that, at least not without actual PAR meter numbers and PPF. I don't see a Shop light outputting more then my 100w and 300w marshydro lights. Seedlings don't really care much as they don't have high light requirements. But i doubt a shoplight is gonna do better then a quality 150 dollar grow light in the terms of overall performance.

    Intresting thing, but i dont know if you get the efficiency and and same g/ watt as a bar light.

    • @AbundantGardening
      @AbundantGardening  3 месяца назад +1

      Much more effective in fact. This only uses 30w of electricity. For me thats a little over 10 cents a day on a 12-14 hour on off cycle

    • @rene4510
      @rene4510 3 месяца назад +2

      @@AbundantGardening ok its more effective that is wow, but i grow the green ladies and what makes me skeptical is, it uses less watt but does it have the right spectrum for growing? i mean do i reach the same potent/quality level of 25-28% like my Ac infity 730 watt bar light? i mean like 8 piece of it in a 5x5 grow tent. That would be interesting.

    These lights will only be useful for seedlings and over wintering very small plants. They are more 'Propagation lights' not Grow Lights.

      @AbundantGardening  6 месяцев назад +2

    • @TedMishler

      Depends on how tall you grow them...
      If you bonsai them, it won't take as much light compared to a 20 footer

  • @JM-ym8mm
    @JM-ym8mm 2 месяца назад

    Not even flower and fruit, the only difference between this and high end LED grow lights will mostly be the wattage as the majority of the LEDs are in the white spectrum. They do add additional infrared and UV LEDs sometimes but by and large, the biggest difference is the wattage. These lights do great for clones and low light intensity requirement plants light microgreens and seedlings.\ You might even scale it up for more power, if space allows. That said, the professional growlights do tend to give you more plant available photons per watt so in the long run, it depends on a lot of factors.

    Will it work for grown houseplants? How far does it need to be from the plant?
    I just want to grow indoor palm trees.

    • @AbundantGardening
      @AbundantGardening  Год назад +3

      Unless you get like 20000 lumen ones, they need to be within a foot of the plant. For palm trees, putting them close to a sunny window is a better choice.

      Oh yeah! A light that big and bright should be perfect about 1.5-2 ft. Just keep an eye on your plants. If they show signs of light deficiency (light green leaves, longer than usual stems) then move it a little closer, but if not, then perfect!
