Dave hates challenge, and him playing soulsborn games proves it again and again. The Divine Tower enemies in Caelid are stronger because you are supposed to have defeated Radahan, who is incredibly powerful, which also means going through a big chunk of Caelid, which is a challenge in and of itself. Of course the enemies you fight after him are gonna be tougher. That apostle is actually easier at half health, as you can easily close the distance when it elongates, and deal damage. It's easier than the other fatter one with the rapier. I can't wait to see him fight the black blade. That's gonna be some salty rage.
Listen, dude has multiple rants over "puzzle bosses" which he defines as enemies that he needs to employ special strategy against. He stated that a kind of boss that he likes is a boss where you just take a gun, aim at the boss and you shoot until the boss dies. All of this is clearly observable in him playing souls games, he just wants to stand next to enemy, spam attack, kill boss. If it's not the case we have the rage and rants.

One thing I learned while playing Elden Ring is… Mashing is a no no. If you’re mashing roll while your character is trying to recover then you decide to jump, your character might roll instead of jump 🤷🏽♂️ each button press has to basically be calculated.
yeah, this is the mechanic of queued input, which phil always confuses for "input lag". youd think someone that played every dark souls game, which uses this as well, would understand it by now
"I don't know why I'm getting hit, are you serious?"- Phil while he's in a room with two bosses and one of them is throwing knives at him from range. He is just the pinnacle of streamer excellence. Also he's having so much trouble because of two things mainly- he's a self admitted glass cannon and he's only using jump attacks for like most of the battle. Sometimes a simple light attack or two is better than jumping and missing the boss entirely.
If he's struggling this much against these bosses then the endgame will break him. This game gives Sekiro a run for its money with difficulty in the endgame. Btw he's bitching about the boss doing nothing but throwing projectiles which aren't homing despite what he says but notice on the boss health bar it specifically says THROWING KNIVES
Anyone know what his Vigor stat is? I've been seeing a rookie mistake people are making are not buffing their HP and are complaining about getting 1 shot
This guy is hard even if your on level and took forever for me to learn, even worse is the duo. That is truly the stuff of nightmares! Hopefully they don't need the Duo before he gets to them, he has to face the true hardest boss of the game at its peak. That said he honestly just needs more Vigor, his build seems to be the biggest thing holding him back. I will give him sommle credit that he is learning to dodge better by far though, gotta give some props when they are semi deserved. He still has work to do though...
idk why but he literally never levels his health in fromsoft games. he's even complained about forgetting to level health in older games and done the same thing in later ones.
To be completely fair, the bosses in Caelid do seem to have a pretty substantial jump in level between North and South Caelid. Maybe I was just bad, but I had a much tougher time with the Apostle and the Black Kindred than I did Radahn.
Its almost like that's the whole fucking point of the zone. You can bear commander O'Neil at level 10 but you go try to fuck with black blade kindred and you do 4 damage and get breathed in and die
Why is he not wearing leg and arms armor? I'm guessing is not to get a heavy load but even then, you can still squeeze in a bit with light armor. Also, is he aware of summoning spirits? I don't think so.
For all of his talk of not caring what the "fanboys" think, he probably read somewhere that using spirits is the pussy, fake gamer way to do it, so he doesn't to try to prove his cred.
It really drives my mind how much he thinks he knows better than the developers. Saying X boss shouldn't be here just because he can't beat it easy. Which guide told you this phil? Also Phil maybe try putting pants on and use a shield😂
My only issue with this game is a lot of bosses seem to be balanced around you summoning, especially end game bosses. I tried to solo Malekith and i have 65 vigor and he two shot me. Not to mention the constant AOE spam fight before hand which drained all my healing. Bosses in this game are pretty terrible, but manageable. DSP just sucks
No, none of the bosses (except radahn) are balanced for summoning. They're just difficult. Also, they're certainly not terrible, they're great (most of them) and some of the best bosses fromsoft has come up with. Them being hard with complex attacks doesn't make them "terrible". You're as bad as DSP.
@@loubloom1941 11 months late but man you are a bit of an idiot. Me not liking the worst bosses in an average FS game makes me as bad as DSP? ok m8. ignore the large majority of people who say these bosses are fucking awful.
I love that he went after the Tree Sent early in the game to get the Golden Halberd. That thing is strong don't get me wrong, but it forces him to use two hands and not a shield. Had he went the shield route and used the Barrier Ash of War before it got nerfed, he would have flew through this game. Shields are so strong in this game if you know what you're doing and can nurse your stamina properly. He's literally low Vitality Glass cannon, raging when he runs out of stamina while swinging around a big two hand weapon. He locked himself into a build that requires decent skill via rolling.
My only gripe with the game is that most of the bosses feel more like filler, because you need to have a boss at the end of a dungeon or area which takes away their uniqueness. There was the red wolf that I fought first in the open world (where it makes sense), but then he was also part of the academy boss fights and in one of the graves. Like I guess, you can make some kind of Sif scenario out of that where it is guarding the tomb, but it is clear that this wasn't the intention, they just wanted a boss.
@@eyeden819 The problem is just that aside from the main bosses, no boss has any actual story or interesting aspect to me. Especially Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro did a good job of building towards their bosses and giving them unique identities. Even "bad bosses" in Dark Souls 3 like the Deacons for example had a buildup since you were exploring the huge cathedral beforehand. And while the dungeons and their gimmicks are good enough to make the exploration interesting, there is never a sense of this buildup for 90% of the bosses. For the boss in the video for example, you make your way down the tower which isn't really filled with a lot of enemies or structures that helps to build an identity to this boss. Which makes sense when you realise later that the same boss can be found in completely different locations as well. It's just there without a deeper purpose.
It's funny because any other game will get dragged through the mud if they copied enemies and had filler bosses. But from soft always gets a pass because everything they make is a masterpiece apparently...

@@edwardedward842 yeah this is the first fromsoft game I've played as it came out, it's cool watching the patches and changes happen, I just hope they end up in a good place balance wise in the end
"His damage output is ridiculous..."
My brother in grace, you have both scarseals equipped.
He missed. Both times. i replayed and replayed it. He definitely missed. Everytime he misses he says "it whiffed." I wonder if he's ever gotten a "whiff" of his own bullshit.
Got 'em!!
I really hope someone clipped "I'm way into his body" to use for later.
Dsp could have an infinite room with no walls and still back himself into a corner
You can literally give him rot twice the whole fight and just run away and it will kill him.
Even dsp’s fashion souls annoys me, Jesus what a half stroke.
He really likes jump attack
And in two days he will go one about how easy this boss was. He had no problems and anyone who does sucks
“I’m way into his body”
He was about to say Stretch Armstrong but realized how boomery he would sound so he went with Mr Fantastic
“Can’t see, F’ing wall”
*Fails to realize he’s fighting in the middle of the room*
Cant wait till he fights fire giant
this is such a nitpick but any time he mispronounces "Melee" or "Souls", I die a little on the inside
same I hate it so much
May-LAY
Not a nitpick at all. It is annoying as hell. Phil's dimwit brain cant do a whole list of things proper.
Doesn't stress his Ts much, but then
"Tahk-sis-ih-TEE"
I think it's the only word he regularly does this with, and it's awful. DX
He NEVER rolls forwards or sideways on attack. Just backwards like a coward.
a coward just like his personality
He literally rolled forwards vast majority of times against godskin apostle. Not sure why you said that. Well I know you are just trying to shit on him but still , completely false.
@@jdawg86 in general I am meaning.
@@woobiehastelly I don’t know man I’m seeing him do it pretty much every fight unless he needs to heal. Sometimes it’s best to dodge backwards.
@@jdawg86 no, no its not
Its NEVER best to dodge backwards in these games, even to create space you dodge forward and right and sprint away from behind the boss
Imagine if he couldn't get those cheap sneak attacks at the beginning of the boss encounter.
400+ deaths?
Jesus.
i hope Outsyder is uploading that TIHYDP soon because i really can't wait!
6:13 "It wont let me heal or roll" While he is healing locked in said healing animation.
"I'm way into his body" - DSP 2022
I saw someone wearing his stupid ass Mario x Abbey Road shirt in the wild today. It was surreal.
I can't wait for his fight against Malenia. 🤣
If he got to her before all the good stuff was nerfed he would actually have a chance but now so much OP stuff has been cut down, I don't think he's gonna be able to beat her no matter how many tries
His only hope is the Mimic tear and stacking bleed or frost, but even then, she’s so difficult that that it doesn’t even matter if you cheese her or not. It’s one of the only bosses in Elden Ring that your success is actually mostly determined by your luck, rather than your skill. At least, for me and some others it was. Her whirlwind slash will make this man absolutely cry out loud.
@@breecegriffith5896 Depends on if he is informed of Bloodhound Step or not. BHS trivializes the fight due to the absurd amount of i-frames it has, which makes it perfect for avoiding Waterfowl Dance.
...but this is DSP we're talking about. He'll still stick to the same halberd he got and jump attack and hope for the best.
Radahn getting nerfed is a shame but with things like hoarfrost stomp getting nerfed as well I’m hoping he won’t be able to cheese Malenia
I sincerely hope Fromsoft does not have another brainfart and nerf her like they did Radahn.
no shield, not using ash summons, colossal weapons. the rage has only just begun.
So like something to note but this man has the worst timings ever for someone whos decked out in radahns gear and he keeps healing in front of bosses when he should already know he wont have time to do it and hes expecting supper short ranged attacks like it will just magically hit the enemy when hit boxes are extremely fine tuned in this game. Lastly my guy has played through all the past games and still panic rolls like crazy and he still cant manage his stamina bar for the life of him
Also he for some reason didn’t go for riposte after breaking a bosses stance
@@zrider100z Yep, basically. He did the same thing when he played Kotor.
he pointed to "the rock" I'm tucking dead
40 year old “man” in a Pokémon hat Lol
He’ll come back later he said on godskin. Come back Fucking later he said… did you see the damage he was doing? The size of his health bar ? What the fuck. Come back later when he’s even higher level 😂
God, the sword beastman is literally the first cave boss you find too. he should absolutely remember how to dodge that guy by now.
edit: lmao getting oneshotted by the caelid tree guardian. perfection
Can't wait for the saltpocalypse coming in the end game. You basically can't overlevel or cheese Farum Azula and the last bosses.
One thing I learned while playing Elden Ring is…
Mashing is a no no. If you’re mashing roll while your character is trying to recover then you decide to jump, your character might roll instead of jump 🤷🏽♂️ each button press has to basically be calculated.
yeah, this is the mechanic of queued input, which phil always confuses for "input lag". youd think someone that played every dark souls game, which uses this as well, would understand it by now
Poor Phil no one else in the world has as much trouble as he does with his controllers always messing up he’s trying to jump and his guy rolls unreal
Dave "WAH WAH" Goutenstein
12:16 he says "I'm way into his body". I wish Rich clipped that one for his stream deck 😂
"I'm not a children's entertainer!" says the guy in a fu##ing Pokémon hat...
The one boss literally has (throwing knife) behind his name on the healthbar. Phil is a brainlet.
He gonna Love radagon and especially melenia
At least in Sekiro you have Sekiro mechanics. End game is like fighting Sword Saint Ishin with Demon Soul mechanics.
@@JoeyCentral Amen!
Does anyone know what level he is? Look at his health and stamina Jesus.
Is this the "pattern play" that Phil always talks about?
Anyone know what his Vigor stat is? I've been seeing a rookie mistake people are making are not buffing their HP and are complaining about getting 1 shot
Looks like what 25-30 maybe? But yeah for Caelid is really low hp his got there...
7:36 The moment I saw throwing knifes I knew Phil would go whats hitting me?
Dude doesn’t watch his stamina at all lmao
Hits jump* “I didn’t hit jump I rolled” …no
To be completely fair, the bosses in Caelid do seem to have a pretty substantial jump in level between North and South Caelid. Maybe I was just bad, but I had a much tougher time with the Apostle and the Black Kindred than I did Radahn.
There is no "to be fair" with Phil.
Its almost like that's the whole fucking point of the zone. You can bear commander O'Neil at level 10 but you go try to fuck with black blade kindred and you do 4 damage and get breathed in and die
i love the music at forskin apostle
Oh my God... his damage... is so small...
I like it how the funny rat bosses pushed his deathcount to 420
9:43 "The funny part is, these enemies are weak, but they're actually strong."
There's just something about watching this man unable to adapt to these enemies that fills me with so much joy.
*Reads title*
This is going to be good.
413 Death!!!.. the hell. He's livin la vida loca
It really drives my mind how much he thinks he knows better than the developers. Saying X boss shouldn't be here just because he can't beat it easy.
Which guide told you this phil? Also Phil maybe try putting pants on and use a shield😂
So basically Dave has put all the points into strength and then wonders why he does massive damage but cannot survive multiple hits....
This is one of those bosses with messages in front of the door saying weak enemy ahead, and it's NOT sarcasm.
Why does he keep doing a jump attack instead of a backstab when the boss is turned lol
‘He has an insanely high damage output’ maybe it’s because it’s a boss battle just a thought..
This is painful to watch. The sheer ineptitude is astounding.
Is he doing a no summon run or he can’t get summons because he dies to bosses constantly?
"im way into his body" thats a bit too graphic for youtube.
Like I guess, you can make some kind of Sif scenario out of that where it is guarding the tomb, but it is clear that this wasn't the intention, they just wanted a boss.
tbf there are a lot of bosses and i wouldnt expect them to create a unique boss for each and every time they want you to encounter one
@@eyeden819
The problem is just that aside from the main bosses, no boss has any actual story or interesting aspect to me.
@@SealofApprovalTWU name another game that has unique amount of 150 different bosses. If you played the game you would know that the godskins are actually a duo boss later in the game so you can individually learn the mechanics of each one before fighting both of them at the same time.

So why is it also placed in windmill village? Why even make a duo boss of two enemies that don't mesh well?
I See so many people Not using the weapon Art of that lance. IT gives a good buff to atk and def. Golden vow also lasts a decent amount of time
"I'm getting hit?! I don't know by what!" Is this dude blind? He was getting hit the entire time. There are two giant health bars at the bottom of the screen.
Wish I knew what level he was
He really doesn't understand that some of these enemies move back before they attack which causes him to whiff? Oh wait, he's right....it's inexplicable
The magma wyrm isnt even hard he has like 3 attacks and only killed me once the first time in the doorway with the magma breath and i couldn't get out of it
Dave's only strategy is spamming jump attack, panic rolling and blaming the developers. 🤣
